Mid-2014 specifications memory MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2014, retina), 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7, A1398 model number.

There 2x8GB memory DDR3, 1600 MHz, ECC disabled.

I want to update to 2x16GB, but it's very confusing what memory to buy.

DIMM or SODIMM

1600 MHz and 1866 MHz

240 pins or 204 pins

Registered or not

Setting buffered or unbuffered

1.3V or 1.5V

Can someone please clarify? I am surprised that there are no clear guidelines on the Apple support site.

I found these for example:

(1) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=868120 9 & CatId = 11482

(2) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=973399 3 & CatId = 11482

(3) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=980150 1 & CatId = 11484

Help, please! Thank you.

Retina models do not allow upgrading RAM.  Only non-retine models have available slots by the user on the logic board.  In fact Mbps retina models have a very low rating not repairable (ifixit.com gives a 1 out of 10 for * user *-fixable).

The thin design of systems of retina require RAM soldered on the Board and different format of version 2.5 SSD in readers.

In addition... to open the case on a non-retine model is an option authorized user without voiding the warranty.  Open the case of a model of retina gives Apple the opportunity to decline any warranty service if something breaks (map logic, display, fans,...).

  • Is it possible to upgrade the trackpad in my mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro to the touchpad by force?

I would add the 3D button or touchpad of my mid-2012 13-inch Macbook Pro. I know that you can upgrade from things such as the hard drive and ram. But I can do the same thing with the trackpad?

No, but the new version of the external trackpad is designed for ElCapitan, it can be used.  New version of the external wireless keyboard works also with ElCapitan.

Just, don't wait these external devices to work at lowest ElCapitan.

  • compatible memory Macbook Pro 2009

    Hi everyone I have a laptop macbook pro mid-2009 intel core 2 duo 2.53 GHZ. I'm hoping to buy a ' 8 GB Corsair PC3 - 10666 DDR3 - 1333 SODIMM RAM (2 x 4 GB) Memory Module Kit "someone knows it will work OK? ".

I would say no, since this page Corsair indicates that memory is for Mac 2011

    gx3m2a1333c9 http://www.Corsair.com/en-US/Corsair-Mac-Memory-8gb-DDR3-SODIMM-Memory-Kit-cmsa8

While your Mac uses 1067 MHz memory, the memory is 1333 MHz. often a memory more high speed does not work.

    This place sells compatible memory

  • What can I put the RAM and the hard drive of a Macbook Pro 13 "2014 in a Macbook Pro 13" 2016?

The main logic of my Macbook Pro 13 "2014 card is broken, and it turns out that it will be much easier and just slightly more expensive, buying a new Macbook Pro that, in order to replace. I would like to set up my new Macbook Pro 13 "online in a way such that it is as cheap as possible, while always respecting the level of my former. So, if I could order one with the minimum of RAM and disk space hard and then put these pieces of my old in the new, this would be ideal. I don't know so much about it, and the question is: is it possible?

my old Mackbook Pro 13 ":"

    -purchased new August 2014

-3.0 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.5

    -DDR3L 16 GB 1600 MHz SDRAM

    -Storage flash 512 GB PCIe

    -Intel Iris graphics card

I'll get to buy e new generation Mackbook Pro 13 "with:"

    -2.9 GHz i5 or i7 3.1 (I've not yet decided)

-RAM: Here I want to configure it with as little as possible, if I can just put the chips of the old in the new. Is this possible?

-Hard drive: same thing: if possible, I want to get the cheapest option and simply put the old in the new. Possible?

Thank you in advance to anyone who might take a few minutes to help out me! It would be much appreciated!

The RAM is not transferable, and the reader will be not as fast as the original of the newest computer; In addition, change it the warranty of the news of the computer.

  • Pass water damaged hard drive Macbook Pro (mid-2010) to another Macbook Pro (mid-2010)?

Someone accidentally spilled water on my MacBook Pro 'Core i7' 2.66 GHz 15 "mid-2010 and after trying to dry out for a few days, I'm sure that the keyboard is in ruins, and it may be worse (I suspect the logic board like most people), but I need to (would really) keep my documents etc. However, we happen to have an another i7 2.66 GHz 15 "mid 2010 Macbook Pro lying around not being used. I'm a student in computer engineering and I'm pretty good with electronics and figure, that I can use the practice, so I was planning on trying to replace the keyboard myself, but I plan on getting a new MBP in the next few months, so I'd rather do less work if possible. MY MAIN QUESTION IS: since I'm very lucky and I have two little nearly exact same model MBP can put the hard drive of the damaged water MBP (also long the HDD no is not damaged by water) in the MBP running? And if so, what would be my challenges and if it works well enough to use for a month or two? Thank you!

TLDR: I can take a HDD on a MBP and put it in a similar model without too much difficulty?

Yes, but you're probably better to put in an envelope instead. If you start another Mac, or in an enclosure closed or internally, a very small number of parameters will not be postponed, and some commercial programs may refuse to run.

  • Memory - Macbook Pro 2011

    Help, please! I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch end 2011. I want to upgrade the memory of 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) to 16GB (2 x 8 GB).

Can I buy 16GB and they say it's for the MacBook Pro 2011, but it says on the site of Apple 8GB maximum memory.

Everyone is running 16GB and it works fine?

I upgraded to El Capitan, and my mac seems slower.

Back in 2011 8 GB SODIMM costs $1000 + if they still existed.  Apple tested the SODIMM 4 GB at reasonable price and never reviewed the hardware older after 8 GB SODIMM fell to $50.

I run 16 GB Crucial in my MBP 2011 very well.  Crucial or OWC (macsales.com) sell RAM reliable and provide guarantees for life.

    Sophos AV

    GitHub and OSXFuse

    Carabiner

    CREDANT shield/Crypto

    SektionEins driver and SUIDGrardNG

One or more are at the origin of the crash. Start by removing Sophos. Since the graphics family is one of the problems, don't forget to remove anything you have installed which would be new for your use of the GPU.

Be sure to use any uninstaller provided with the software. Something that comes with an uninstaller uninstall not manually.

  • El Capitan on a Macbook Pro for mid-2012?

In other words - my OS upgrade needs badly. Slowdowns of Safari and page gel side, I start to have problems of compatibility.

I stuck with the Lion of the mountains (OS X 10.8.5) for a while now, and as much as I love him, I decided that I have to upgrade.

In other words, how can I expect to run on a Mid-2012 medium-to-high range Macbook pro (chart below)?

    My main concerns are running speed and battery overall utilization;

I do a few games, nothing too big (Guild Wars 2 and Civ 5 are the heaviest), and my use of safari is quite heavy, so speed it would be a good thing. I have the laptop plugged in most of the time, but I would like to know just would get worse how the battery life.

  • Advice/cost for the upgrade of MacBook Pro memory

I have a mid-2009 13-inch MacBook Pro. It has 2 GB of RAM and I want to update 8 GB of RAM. I heard it is expensive to have Apple install memory, but I really do not trust myself to install it alone! Does anyone have an idea of what it would cost (for the work of Apple and memory) for this upgrade? And if no Apple, anyone have any suggestions for qualified but cheaper alternatives? Thank you!!

    Dailey,

You can upgrade RAM yourself at a reasonable cost.

Guys thank you much in advance

< personal information under the direction of the host >

You have the misfortune to have a model identifier 6.2 MBP that GPU problems. There was a program of replacement card logic on these models, but that has expired.

To resolve this problem, you can have the logic board replaced at your expense.

As a temporary measure, you can download and install this application:

    https://gfx.IO/

This will cancel the discreet GPU and run the MBP using only the built-in. This will result in a decrease in the graphics performance.

    Ciao.

  • Compatibility of Kingston HyperX SSD of Savage on Apple MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010)

I am trying to install a Kingston HyperX SSD Savage in my mid-2010 13-inch macbook pro (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo).  I can connect via usb and format/partition/delete/clone ssd it however I want. Once he is cloned from my current HD, I can boot from ssd when it is still connected via USB.  If I replace the internal HD with the ssd and the attempt to power on the mac, download starter system but never end.

    Help, please!

Cables HD in older MBP are known to degrade so that they can support the speed of a HD but not an SSD. The solution was to replace the cable.

  • MacBook pro RAM upgrade

I have mid-2012 13 inch Macbook Pro. I used it for a year in India. But it's somehow slows down. I have a 4GB 1600 Mhz RAM installed. I think to be upgraded to 8 GB. He face any problem of heating on the upgrade of RAM? About how many dollars will I have to pay for it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Akshay,

You should have no problem with the heating problems by upgrading the RAM, if you use good RAM.

With respect to costs in India, I'm not sure.

You can check out OWC or Crucial for fixing prices and product, they are compatible RAM known providers. I don't know if they ship to the India. You can also contact Apple service provider to see if they have produced for you.

  • Disk compatibility HARD MacBook Pro end 2010... SATA?

I have the mid-late 2010 15 "Macbook Pro. Currently, he has the 500 GB HDD 2.4 GHz inside and want to go to 1 TB. I will be upgrading the 8 GB of RAM and I wonder...

1 a the SATA specifications can he manage? II? III? SATA 6?

    2. any recommendations for transmission models?

    I found this:

    SATA 6

    http://www.Amazon.com/black-performance-mobile-hard-drive/DP/B01DOL05OC

If I can't go SATA 6 How about something else similar? 7200 RPM and 1 TB that works?

    Thanks 1million expert Apple!

A 2010 MBP has SATA2 3Gbps connectivity.  However all readers will be retro-compatible.  Try OWC:

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-notebook/

There are cheerleaders for all different brands, but the bottom line, they all will work.

Capacity is not a problem.  Now they come up to 2 TB.

I have a Crucial 1 TB SSD in my MBP 2010 and it works as expected, fine.

    Ciao.

  • Upgrade memory for MacBook Pro mid-2014

I have a Retina (2014 Mid) MacBook Pro. There are already 16G memory. But I still even is not enough for me.

    Can I add more memory?

RAM is not extensible on a Macbook Pro of the retina.

I'm sure that it is soldered to the logic board.
