Migration and upgrade of databases

Hello

We intend to migrate from the data center to the new location. The new data center already have the hardware. We must move the dump data and upgrade the database. Our database most are on Oracle

10g solar UNIX and the new material is on Oracle 11.2.0.4 with Linux (Oracle or Redhat Linux). Do the following activity:

(1) taking the export on the basis of existing data.

(2) move the dump of the export to the new location, as well as archived data that is stored in the Ribbon. (this is where a suggestion required more about different ways to do it).

(3) import and the upgrade of the database in the new location.

Might suggest a certain to please the strategy and useful tool which, for this activity.

You should move all the 100 + databases in a window of 48 hours with datapump? It is a command

What is the capacity of the network (i.e. How fat is the pipe) between the two locations and how pieces are? As a general rule, there should be no loss of data or corruption during the transfer of files over a network. The time required for move/upgrade a database of 300G can only be determined by performing a test upgrade that looks close in the middle of production.

Migration and upgrade EBD Linux Solaris 11 to 12

We want to migrate an existing Oracle EBS from Linux to Solaris and at the same time do a upgrade for R12. The plan is to upgrade an existing EBS 11.5.10 executed under Oracle RDBMS 10.2.5 (Linux) to Oracle EBS 12.1.2 and Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.2.0 on Solaris.

I don't know what is the best approach for this. My Initial plan is to

1 Migrate Linux database by creating a new Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.2.0 on solaris and use Rman/expdb to migrate the database on. I can't seem to find any documentation on the migration of the Applications Tier on platform for 11i rel (note Application Tier Platform Migration with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 438086.1] refers to 12 Rel.

    2. run the Quick Setup (from Solaris) and select the option to perform the upgrade. This will create a tops/directory of the application on my new Solaris database

    3. run the post updated and remedial steps.

Is - this too simplistic? This approach allows me to bypass the need to pass a Solaris Linux application frameworks

I believe that this approach is not taken in charge. You must either upgrade can migrate, or migrate then upgrade.

  • 11.5.9 to 12.1.1 solaris linux migration and upgradation

    Hi friends,

I have question about migration and high-grading the existing application and the database.

    our existing configuration
    SOLARIS 10
    EBS 11.5.9 ACTIVE NLS
    DB 9.2.0.8

    proposed configuration
    RHEL 5.5 64-bit
    EBS 12.1.1
    DB 11.2.0.2

As in oracle support, they said, EBS 11.5.9 is not certified with RHEL 5.5, then we must first upgrade to 11.5.10.2.

I want to know one thing
Can I migrate EBS 11.5.9 to 11.5.10 solaris linux directly or I must first upgrade to 11.5.10.2 on solaris only then to RHEL5?

    11.5.9 (solaris) - > 11.5.10.2 (linux). is this possible?

    or 11.5.9 (solaris) - > 11.5.10.2 (solaris) - > 11.5.10.2 (linux)?

    Thank you

I want to know one thing
Can I migrate EBS 11.5.9 to 11.5.10 solaris linux directly or I must first upgrade to 11.5.10.2 on solaris only then to RHEL5?

    Upgrade to 11.5.10.2 migrate then.

    11.5.9 (solaris)-> 11.5.10.2 (linux). is this possible?

It is not possible that you can not have 11.5.9 on OEL5/RHEL5

    or 11.5.9 (solaris)-> 11.5.10.2 (solaris)-> 11.5.10.2 (linux)?

    This is possible.

Since you plan to upgrade to 12.1.1, why upgrade to 11.5.10.2 first (you can skip from 11.5.9 to R12). What I would say, you or the other upgrade your 11.5.9 existing instance on Solaris 10 for R12 and then migrate to Linux. Or, install RHEL 4 on the new server, migrate the 11.5.9 to the new server, and then upgrade to R12 and finally upgrade the operating system to RHEL5.

If none of these approaches work for you, please let us know so we can provide you with all the documents (in case you need it).

    Thank you

  • Readycloud migration and upgrade Firmware

    Hi guys,.

I got the same email that others have had about the Readycloud account migration to a single account of Netgear.

I stopped using Readycloud to access because of inconsistencies with connections and now do things via Filezila without any problem.

Should he change on behalf of Netgeat? and what of the update of the firmware?

When I bought my camera in 2013 I put things up without problem, and the following year had notification of an update of the firmware. Duly updated and he missed so much that the only way I could get access to the NAS should return to 6.20. Since this bad experience, I did no updates that things work fine for my needs. I would rather not be updated if I don't have to.

Can't wait to hear the responses.

    Richard

If you do not use ReadyCLOUD, then you wouldn't need to install the update of the firmware immediately or upgrade your ReadyCLOUD account for a SINGLE authentication account.

However running such an old firmware as 6.2.0 missing a number of improvements, bugfixes, security fixes and other improvements.

You don't want to think in terms of migration when it comes to Adobe software.  You must install using installation files.  There is no need to have installed CS5 unless you plan to use it.  There is no way to upgrade of CS5 at CC, there is a reduced plan should soon be interrupted.  You get the first annual subscription for almost half of the normal price.

  • Move and upgrade vCenter 4 to 5.

    Hello

We run vCenter 4 with 1 cluster and 2 hypervisor guests in total.

As the server hardware fails constantly, we decided to move the installation of vCenter to another physical server.

We also want to upgrade to version 4 or 5.

So, we want to perform this procedure:

-upgrade to vCenter 4 to 5

-move vCenter Server to different hardware.

What is the best and simplest practical VMware for this task?

How the Configuration Mode link feature is related to this?

(we have already installed successfully vCenter 5 on new material, now we would like to import the old configuration of vCenter 4)

    Thank you!

This process is described in the vSphere Upgrade Guide around page 42: "Upgrading to vCenter Server on a different Machine and upgrade the database."

We recently did a host migration for our vCenter (though not 4 or 5), and the only hiccup we had was to make sure that we restarted the vCenter services after the above. Good luck!

  • Migration and upgarde

What is the difference between a migration and upgrade in Oracle?
    Please explain

Migration generally refers to transfer data from one database to another if it is oracle, SQL Server, MySQL etc.

Place a gradation refers usually to go to the higher version of lower version of the same database.

Please read the documentation of the requirement for Oracle APEX 5. Ensure that your environment meets these requirements. Upgrade your oracle database or other software if necessary components and then you can go right 4.1/4.2 to 5.0 update according to the above-discussed upgrade strategies in the above discussions.

    Reference: https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E59726_01/install.50/e39144/pre_require.htm#HTMIG376

You should go for upgrade of the Oracle APEX of 4.1 to 5.x. Regression test your applications to remove if any errors introduced by upgrade. The kickoff of a new project to migrate your applications to universal theme.

  • Migration and update of a database

OS: Linux Oracle 6.6 (Server A and Server B)

You have a standalone 10.2 DB break-in ServerA and you want to move this DB on the server (standalone) b.

ServerB, you want to upgrade this DB to a DB 11.2 and open. What is the best possible method of migration?

There are several ways, but RMAN is likely your most convenient option. In other words, you can back up the database in 10g and restore and recover the backupsets less than 11g.

After the restoration of RMAN and the recovery of your database 10g less than 11g, you must upgrade the database before you can open it. For instructions perform this manual upgrade, please visit http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e23633/preup.htm#BABCEIFB. The name of the upgrade script is $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlu112i.sql. There is also a checklist on My Oracle support for manual upgrades Doc ID 837570.1.

You can also use the DBUA upgarde the database utility. For more information and screenshots, see https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18283_01/server.112/e17222/upgrade.htm#i1011982

Is there any space stage, do we do if we have implemented SSO after upgrade DB 11 g and 7 ATG?

You can follow the same approach to upgrade the database and apply the fixes 7 ORS ATG group level.

Please make sure that you apply the patches in (known issues on top of 11i. ATG_PF. H.Delta.7 (RUP7) - 6241631 [858801.1 ID]). In addition, make a full backup before you start this on your instance of production and if possible get an instance cloned with SSO enabled and test all patches on an identical instance.

  • ORA-00904 on upgrade of database

I was running without fix 10.2.0.1.0 Oracle x 64 on Windows XP x 64. Our philosophy of these products has been that if it ain't broke, don't break with updates, but we are forced to update by federal regulation. As we go through the trouble, we decided on 11.1.0.X to match all our other facilities.

I backed up the database before doing anything. I've migrated the ASM instance for 11.1.0.7 successfully. Then I patched the 10.2.0.5 database successfully, so that the zone versions would correspond. I started the all invalid objects recompile, but whenever I recompiled some, others would be present as invalid. I had a script that goes through this during about an hour before you abandon it, read somewhere that the upgrade process is recompiled invalid objects. After relinquishing to recompile everything, I put all the environment variables for the 11.1 database, and ran the upgrade of database. During the stage of "Upgrading Oracle Workspace Manager", I got an error ORA-00904 and messages on an invalid identifier and no data found. It gives me the option "Cancel" or "ignore".

I don't know what to do at this point. I didn't even know about the workspace far Manager. I guess by ignoring the error is not sure, but that is just, based on previous experiences of calculation. Give up everything to restore to the State it was in before the upgrade? I can restore the original software and restart the process, but I don't know what I have to do differently. I also ignored warnings of statistics the optimizer vitiated in schemas sys and sysman (after the collection of statistics for the whole of the base), patterns with objects dependent of network packets (the guide says to set the ACL after the upgrade) and a warning that the control of Enterprise Manager repository exists in the database (that I have not used since we first installed the base data).

OWM has a history of problems with upgrade. Ignore and it will be not upgraded after this upgrade 'failed' and it isn't a problem if you do not use. Of course, no one likes to discover such a problem, but after the end of the level and after the patch you should be able to upgrade the Workspace Manager simply with a performance of $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/owmupgrd.plb
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B28359_01/AppDev.111/b28396/long_migrate.htm
(I suggest you reproduce the whole process on a test 10.2.0.5 database for make your own conclusion of course)
