Miix2 10: Boot from USB - Image-Backup

I want the image backup my "nine" 10 boot from a WinPE Acronis True Image Home 2013 USB Stick Miix2.

But: The Tablet does not start this (or another) stick. I tried with enabling / disabling startup secure without success.

What BIOS settings must be used, and what are the prerequisites for a bootable for Miix2 10?

Thank you very much
Michael

Hello

can't speak for Acronis WinPE, but Macrium reflect WinPE (32-bit indeed) boots fine and works well on Black 2 10 "." I'm starting last Macrium reflect WinPE CD ISO via USB optical drive emulator, but other dΘmarrez successfully for ordinary USB flash.

With the Tablet turned off, press Vol - and keep it pressed all by pressing the power button / stop for entering the UEFI boot menu.

EDIT: haven't touched the other BIOS settings that secure boot power down. There is not much to do in the BIOS/UEFI anyway until Lenovo decided to hide all the interesting parameters of we...

  • Portege R500-12 s - problem of recovery (Boot from USB)

    Hello

I tried several days reinstall this laptop (Toshiba PORTÉGÉ R500-12 s). I reinstall drive, but it has no CD-ROM included, so I'm fighting with booting from the USB port, with my external hard drive. Those that the BIOS loads even boot from USB? Because there is no alternative USB inside the boot priority. I noticed that I can choose from, what I think is alternative of different startup in start up, when I press the F12 key. When I press the F12 key and choose USB, I just pup up to a similar cmd command line.

Reinstall is the only option because my laptop is super slow, and I have no restore file (CD) on my laptop

Ultimately is it possible to reinstall windows via USB boot, or do I have to buy an external CD-ROM drive? Which is the last thing I want to do. Advice or assistance on how I'm going to do this?

    Thanks in advance :-)

I put t know if this is possible, but if you can visit Toshiba service in your city, ask them for help. They have all the external devices and also external optical drive.
Buy a coffee and ask if they can install just image recovery using your recovery DVDs. I m that they will help you with this.

What you need is the optical disk drive.

    Hi @kvartsnorsk

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I know that you are looking for drivers for Windows XP, unfortunately, this laptop was not sold configured for this OS. Drivers are available for windows 7 and 8 (32 and 64 bit)

What happens if I do not see my operating system?

On the boot USB device, it is likely that your bootable usb image isn't UEFI, so you should enable legacy boot in the BIOS to allow boot off this device.

  • Unable to boot from USB 3.0 E430

    Hello community!

I recently got a ThinkPad E430, and I love it.  I have a minor problem with the boot.

As a Linux user, I regularly boot from usb and cd while trying different distributions and whatnot.  However, I discovered that I can't boot from my USB 3.0 ports.  Not only that, but my computer does not start if I have nothing plugged into them.

I first thought that I had faked my dd command in the transfer of the image, but the usb key works from the 2.0 port. So I thought maybe it was the usb key itself, but this happens with all my usb 2.0 flash drives and 3.0.

I noticed a recent bios update a few days, but I don't want to go through the trouble, if she does not really bring all the benefits.  Actually looking at the itt changelog says that it only supports to the B430.

I guess I would really just know if others in the face of this problem.  Thank you!

Plug the USB pen into a USB port of your PC (even the work of the port on the front)

    Reset

Press < ESC > during startup to win the "Boot Menu" (or F12 etc. According to your PC)

The USB pen is now listed (SanDisk in my case)

    Select it

    Press enter

Press the power button, then F12 and select USB.

But note: USB flash memory stick must be ready for start-up.
