mikebsiny - tab 29 firefox guard disappear. F10 + temporary fixes won't help.

I tried the suggestions recently put online, F10, Alt, view > toolbar > customize menu bar does not help. The add-on only I have is 29.0.1 by default.

Sorry, no one answered, but perhaps it would be useful to you to explain the problem more in detail.

This article can help too (the screenshots are for Firefox 28, but the instructions should be the same in Firefox 29):

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the profile folder of Firefox that store session data.

Delete the sessionstore.js file possible sessionstore-# .js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and tab groups and opened and closed the tabs (back) to get lost, so you will need to create them again (take note or bookmarks).

Firefox guard open a new window every time when I click on a tab to open it. Happens quite a few times per day now and it's annoying.

Versions of Firefox 3.5 and later have a feature called tabs.

You can detach a tab in the current window and open in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.

You can drag the tab to the tab bar in the original window to cancel this detachment.

  • I just discovered that Mozilla plans to eliminate groups of tabs in Firefox. Is there a way to keep?

I just discovered that Mozilla plans to eliminate groups of tabs in Firefox. Only, I discovered that this feature is by reading an article in PC World on plans to remove future versions of Mozilla's Firefox. I just tried the service for the first time. That's exactly what I searched for, and now it is about to be wiped out. My question is this: If we want to keep this feature, is there a way for us to do?

I try to have faces of color illustrated when I open a new tab in Firefox 42. The instructions say click on the gear wheel at the top right of the page to the new tab in order to activate the function of tiles. It is not a gear when I open a new tab.

What page is the new tab override set the new tab page?

If you want to use the subject: newtab page with the tiles and the gear, you don't need this extension.
The extension new tab replace is only necessary if you want a different home page, and such a page does not include this gear.

  • Recover tabs after Firefox reload

Hello! My first post here and I found a good solution for my case.

    Here is what happened:

After force Firefox to quit smoking and then put it on again all tabs open in a previous session has become inactive and loading new/blank Tabs without any address in their.

I used to reload Firefox previously and she was very good with showing all my tabs of the session before recharging. But now they are all simply empty.

Is there a way to make these blank tabs to work like before? I can somehow restore them?
Please help, I have so many important information in these tabs. Thank you!

Do not leave Firefox! If you already quit Firefox, does not start it again! Please save your session history files in a safe place for potential recovery/recovery operations.

    If Firefox works now:

You can open the settings file (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the button 'show in Finder '.

If Firefox is NOT running now:

    Our support article says:

    (1) click the Finder icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the menu go to, hold down option or alt key and select library. A window opens that contains your library folder.

    (2) open the "Application Support" folder, and then open the folder "Firefox", then the folder "Profiles".

There you will see a folder named semi-randomly - there is only one click in it - or more than one. If there is more than one folder, find the one with the updated content.

Next steps if Firefox running or not:

In the Finder window, scroll down and double-click on folder sessionstore-backups . Save all the files here to a safe place, such as your Documents folder (if Mac has a default Documents folder). If not too much time has passed, we may be able to use to recover your lost tabs.

The types of files that you can find among your sessionstore-backup files are:

    • Recovery.js: the windows and tabs in your Firefox session currently live (or, if Firefox is closed, your last session)
    • Recovery.bak: a backup copy of recovery.js
    • Previous.js: the windows and tabs in your last session in Firefox
    • Upgrade.js -build_id: windows and tabs in Firefox that was alive at the time of your last update session

Can take you a look at what you have and the date / time of the different files to see if you think that one of them would be the missing tabs?

  • Even with "ask to save tabs" unchecked, Firefox keeps asking to save tabs

    Firefox for Linux 32.0.

The option "warn me when closing multiple tabs" is disabled in my preferences, but every time I close many tabs Firefox request "Do you want Firefox saves your tabs for the next time."

I then check "do not ask next time", and when I restart the browser, the "warn me when closing multiple tabs" is always disabled, but still asking to save the tabs in Firefox.

Also, in my remarks: the browser.tabs.warnOnClose config displays "false".
However, Firefox does not seem to respect that.

So in fact, Firefox remembers my settings, but doing the opposite?

How can I get Firefox to respect the settings and disable this close tab warning message?

    There are also these prefs:

    • browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs
    • browser.showQuitWarning
    • browser.warnOnQuit
  • Tabs in Firefox and windows seem to be related

When I open a new tab in Firefox, a new window also opens the new window seems to be the new tab, and when I close the new window, the new tab is closed. I would have rather than a Firefox window open with all the tabs and not several tabs and multiple windows, each for a tab.

When you open a new tab by pressing Ctrl + t on the keyboard or by clicking on the button '+' on the tab bar, Firefox should open the new tab at the end of the tab bar in the same window. If it opens by itself in a new window, this is definitely not normal.

For the button "+", Firefox may be misreading of the keyboard. In other words, it behaves as if the SHIFT key is down. Try typing the SHIFT key repeatedly to force Windows to re-read the State of the keys.

If you mean on the Windows task bar, there is a setting for this: you can turn off the display of the individual tabs it in the Options dialog box:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > tabs

Uncheck the box 'Show glimpses of tab in the Windows task bar.

  • How to create a permanent fixed first tab in Firefox 30. ??

    Hi all
I'm looking for a way to establish a first permanent tab in Firefox. I read descriptions of all the Extensions available without success and, in addition, do not wish to wear a bunch of "stuff" with the feature I'm looking for < G >.
I know that it is maybe the idea of this feature won't revolutionize Firefox, but it is only a function of personal preference, I would have.
    Thanks in advance,

When I opened a second tab in Firefox, it won't go to my homepage. Instead, it goes to a page that shows what looks like a collection of pages (or links) that I visited in the recent past or distant. I rather go to my homepage, which is much more useful for me. I tried to change that in 'Options', but without success. Please fix this.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
    2. Press the big button to ignore the warning.
    3. In the search bar, paste browser.newtab.url
    4. In the search results, double-click browser.newtab.url and set its value to any desired URL. If you want the Firefox home page by default, you would set the value to Subject: Home

  • How to open my home page in a new tab in firefox 13, as I had done for years?

Since I've just updated to firefox 13, I can customize is no longer where a new tab opens with the 'new new tab page"feature. I got my new tab open to my homepage for years, this is how I am used to it, and it's frustrating that I've now spent so much time trying to get around this new "convenience". Just to clarify: I would like that my new tabs to open to my home page. not a white page and not frequently visited tab page.

You can change it if you don't mind not peeking under the covers in Firefox about: config preferences editor.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter the desired value:

    (i) (default) Page thumbnails

    browser.newtab.url = about:newtab

    (ii) Virgin tab

    browser.newtab.url = about:blank

    (iii) integrated Firefox home page

    browser.newtab.url = about:home

    (iv) any other page

browser.newtab.url = full URL to the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?
