Mini-map PCI Bluetooth Toshiba Satellite A80

Hello, I would like to know if the Toshiba mini PCI is a mini pci standard bus.

The reason is I want to upgrade my A80-131 with a bluetooth card in the manual, I've seen this option but I Don t find a correct toshiba mini-pci card.

So, if the mini-pci bus is a standard bus and the card have windows drivers, I could buy a standard bluetooth card and install it in my laptop?

Thank you.

Hello Smith

As much as I know your device isn't Bluetooth ready and there is no way to use a card PCI Bluetooth Mini for Satellite A80. The best solution is the small USB Bluetooth key. It's not expensive and configuration is very easy.

Good bye

This isn't a laptop problem, but certainly something wrong with your Microsoft software.
In addition the Toshiba laptops are not delivered with Microsoft Office software.

I think you should contact Microsoft technical support for more details.

A hint; I recommend reinstall the MS Office XP again. Do not update from Office 97 to Office XP, but perform a new installation.

After the new installation, refer to the MS Update site and install all belonging to Office XP updates

  • Recovery CD is not repeated? Satellite A80

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A80. It came with 2 CDs a recovery CD and a "CD for additional software.

My intention was to format the pc, but I've had problems.

When I boot the recovery CD, there are 3 options: "Delete all Partitions", "Crush the Installation" and "Uninstall Express Media Player". I tried all these options, but none of them install windows XP, which is what it was preinstalled. When I start the laptop from the hard drive, it says "not found operating system"

I hope I can get help here.

    Thank you!!

Are you sure that you have started since the right recovery CD?
You must start from the Toshiba OS recovery CD and not from the Express Media Player recovery CD!

    Don't mix the two CDs!

  • Satellite A80 - display panel is not working properly

Hello! I have repair me my Toshiba Satellite A80 laptop because the screen was black with fine lines.

I did a full restore, formatting the HARD drive and reinstall Windows XP Pro SP3 with the original drivers (as always, I did), but when I installed drivers (nVidia Geforce Go 6600) display, the black rear screen with fine lines...

I restarted the SO and entered safe mode. All works (slow, but works), and I uninstall the display driver. Turn on the new laptop and SO works (in 'normal' mode) well, except the scroll and videos, which is running slowly...

    Do you know what happens?

    Sorry my bad English-.-'

Thank your very much for all!

    Best regards!

Right Satellite A80 is old piece of hardware so it can be difficult to find the right answer to your question.
Fact is that this old A80 originally shipped with Windows XP SP2 home edition which includes the tested display driver. The same driver is available on the download page of Toshiba.

    You installed this driver?
If I m remembering well Toshiba recommended installation with SP2 and more late preinstalled OS can evolve into the SP3 version.

By the way: have you tried to install

    Hello!

It sounds like a hardware malfunction...
If you have installed two RAM sticks try it with a single. Check it!

I m not a technician to laptop but the problem may be with the motherboard, RAM or CPU, but this is my personal opinion.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A80 - 49 error during the installation of recovery code

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A80. The computer crashed. I inserted the Windows recovery disc and error #49 with writing problem appeared.

I wonder what wrong with my laptop. What is a hard drive problem?
    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

    Hi ClementLo,

    > error #49 with writing problem appeared.
I put t know when you get exactly this message but theoretically, it might be a problem with the HARD drive. Perhaps he has bad sectors and must be replaced

Can you also test the same using a disc of Microsoft? Maybe the disc is scratched

  • Satellite A80 XP recovery work do not

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A80, I want to pass on to my children.
Before that, I need to reinstall the XP o/s via the original product Recovery DVD-ROM.

When I boot the disk, it tells me that it only works the * 'Toshiba PC' *-press the button and it restarts.

Am I missing something? -Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello

Are you sure you used the right and compatible CD?
Perhaps the recovery disk was created for another different Toshiba notebook?

Moreover, something might be wrong with the DMI information, which are stored on the motherboard.
The DMI contains different information on the laptop.
If this info is damaged or does not exist because mobo has changed, then you will get this error message saying that it is not a Toshiba laptop or similar

If the worst case I recommend that you install Win XP using a Microsoft Win XP CD. All the drivers of Toshiba for A80 lie on the European driver Toshiba Note page; You must choose archives to find the drivers.

    Hello...

As I have a Toshiba Satellite A80 - 121 (PSA80E) configuration for a client, I've found that when you enter the description of the model to the Toshiba driver download area, you get no WLAN driver but a link to a how-to page. Here you have to choose between four different driver files... unfortunately I do not know the name of the integrated wireless LAN device, then... What can I do to find out which driver is the one I should install?

Check the Device Manager or network settings did not help get all necessary information. operating system is Windows XP Professional SP3... any idea?

Thanks for any help / ideas

    Telefraggle

    Hello

I think you have a WLan Intel card!

Relative to the European Toshiba driver page you will also find a social driver WLan manufacturing/name and the page said an Intel.
It also provides a possible Intel WLan driver versions; 11.5.0.32 / 9.0.4.37

So download Intel WLan driver from the Toshiba page and choose the 9.0.4.37 or version 11.5.0.32

  • Impossible to install internal modem on my Satellite A80

My Toshiba recovery cd is corrupted, so I got the latest version of XP on CD and loaded with a lot of success.

However, the internal modem necessary to a driver who was on the restore cd but not on the new CD.
I downloaded which, in my opinion, is for "Toshiba Satellite A80 internal modem" driver software and run it.

She says that is install the driver but after about 3 minutes and 75% complete (based on the load bar), the process stops and the driver has not loaded probably as the internal modem says that he doesn't have a driver.

Does anyone have ideas on this? It would be appreciated if I can get a solution.

    Hello

You have downloaded the latest driver of modem on the official page of Toshiba?
What Service Pack you have installed for XP? You must install the latest version of the version which is SP3 and you can download it on the page of Toshiba.

Also, try to install the driver as an administrator.

  • Satellite A80-131: what CD/DVD player is compatible

    Hello

I need to buy a new DVD - ROM drive because my old is bad!
    I have a toshiba Satellite A80-131 with mati dvd - rom * a UJ - 831S.
I would buy another drive: toshiba, samsung, pioneer the suport of mati because * a (panasonic) is not very good. But what model is compatible with the old drive UJ - 831S?
Support does not provide this information to me.

I have a toshiba HD MK4025-GAS and I want to do an upgrade, but the
    model PA3406U - 1 HA 0 (100 GB 5400 MHz) is very expensive.
    Model MK is cheap.
But that model MK I buy with 100 or 120 GB?

    HI Ronai,

Any optical drive slim form factor fits physically to your laptop, but you'll hjave to make sure that you get with the correct connectivity. It will be either master or slave (and sometimes C/salt). This setting is normally carried out by the manufactrer reader and it is not easy to change later unlike the larger disks used in PC where you can return some small switches to change the setting.

To be sure, you can ask your local authorized Toshiba Service partner which models are fully compatible.

In regards to your hard drive, you can choose any hard drive manufacturer (the MK designation indicates a Toshiba drive) but I don't know if 100 GB is greater that the BIOS will allow you. I know that 80 GB working fine (I use a Fujitsu 80 GB HDD in my SA30) but I've never tried a higher capacity drive.

You may also like to consider a faster rotation speed. GAS from Toshiba records with the suffix are usually 4200 RPM, while those with a GAX suffix are quicker to 5400 RPM. MK8025-GAX is a good option.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite A80 - 154 - keyboard and Touchpad are not working

    The keyboard doesn t work.
I see the light, but no key worked. The same thing with the touchpad.
I can t go into Bios.

When I plug a keyboard and USB mouse in works fine.
    I am looking for a new Ebay. The best offers $ 24 + $ 6!

I see in the Windows, the keyboard and the touchpad with one!
I put t know what the problem is, but it's not a prob of Windows.
It doesn t work either in Bios.

    Thank you for the help

    Hello

It looks like a hardware problem.
If the warranty is valid, you can contact the ASP in your country for a verification of the material.

If the warranty is not valid, you can first check if the keyboard cable is properly connected to the motherboard.
If it s properly connected then a keyboard failure is possible and it would be wise to check if a replacement would help solve this problem.

Compatible parts can be ordered also from the ASP in your country.

  • Need help for installing the drivers on Satellite A80

    Hello
I just reinstalled windows xp and have some problems to install my windows drivers. I lost my original cd and downloaded the drivers from your site. I followed the instructions but when I tried to find the driver for example the controller drivers network, windows can't find them. I placed them on my desk, so that shouldn't be the problem.

I have a toshiba Satellite A80, with an nvidia card. If you would like more information just ask and i´ll try to give them, thank you for your effort
    Greetz Mex

    Hello

The compatible network driver is placed on the page of Toshiba. I know, I checked the page.
More like in the post above suggested, you must decompress the folder of the driver first before you start the installation of the driver.

What you should also know, is that the proper installation order is necessary. Installation instructions, you will find on the Toshiba site. Download this document and follow the guide line.
