Minitour dc5100 - installation nvidia geforce 6200 PCI - problem

Hello

I have an old HP Compaq DC5100 minitour, and I wanted to put in a graphics card instead of using the onboard gfx

as windows kept alert me that I was running on system resources, and video memory.

So after hunting around the net for a PCI card (PCI-e not that I do not have a slot on the motherboard for it)

which are very few and far between, but I managed to find a Nvidia Geforce 6200 256 MB PCI card: Nvidia Geforce 6200
That I jumped into one of the PCI free slots on the motherboard and has pulled up the PC... after a second fans
closed and the PC started her off 4 short beeps (with a red light flashing in time with the beeps located under)

the power button on the front of the pc), then stopped for a few seconds and then repeat the 4 short beeps.
and then continued to do this until I turned off the machine.

So I took then the video card back and put it in the second PCI slot, but the same thing happens again.

Now, I had to take the graphics card and just plugged my monitor on the port of gfx on board.

Does anyone know why this graphics card stop the pc to start?

Or is there something I need to do to get it working?

FOR INFO. I can't even get into the BIOS, so impossible to verify anything in there.

Also, here is a picture of my motherboard and the two PCI ports:

I had a quick glance for the beep codes but cannot determine what BIOS mine is in the list here:
Beep codes HP

The only information I could get from my pc has been;

[Information BIOS]
Provider string: Hewlett-Packard
Version string: 786 2 v01.07
Release date: 25/08/2005
Size of the ROM: 512 KB

[Information on motherboard]
Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Product range: 09E0h
Version string:
Serial number: CZC6071MT0

Good news!

After taking all the USB devices on my machine and try again once I had no joy as it is the same with the 4 beeps and the PC shut down.

So I headed upwards in my attic and after opening 3 old PC I got lucky and found an another PSU ATX which had the same dimensions and was a high-end with maximum capacity of 640 watts, so I it inverted and put the graphics card back in and connected USB devices , and then press the power button...... ..  .  This time there was no beep and the computer =)

This is certainly the graphics card needed more energy than the 300 Watt who was originally in the machine.

Thanks again for your help to solve this problem.

Kind regards

Mark

  • My nvidia geforce 6200 is compatible with Windows 7?

    Hello

I am considering upgrading my PC from XP to win 7 but can't understand if my card is compatible. It is nvidia geforce 6200 the. Can someone tell me, in other words, if it's compatible Please?

    Thank you

    EM

If the driver is already on the machine and you do an upgrade you won't have a problem.  However, if you do a fresh install, then that is a good question.   In general, I need to download the driver of nvidia geforce from nvidia site (or of the drive by the manufacturer if save you those) and reinstall the driver after the installation.   I don't know why it seems to be shifting for the nvidia driver, but this isn't a great thing.

To update level or fresh install.

Then go to the internet and search for the download of the driver...  For corresponds to the best use of the name of your board when you are looking for... for example my ASUS Board is an M4A785-M so I search google with information thus: "drivers m4a785-m."

The second from the top which brings me to this address: (note that this is an asus dot com, which indicates that it is not a phishing site)

    http://support.ASUS.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&m=M4A785-M&hashedid=ef0qgvMIwOUagAVl

I download and install the driver nvidia using the Manager of devices (from Control Panel)

Access graphics, software update driver cards and then navigate to the folder where you have already downloaded and expanded the drivers from nVidia.

The machine should reboot and come back with higher resolutions, you expect to do with the nVidia Driver.

  • XFX nVidia GeForce 6200 256 MB hangs on Windows 7

Hello my name is Ricardo and I'm having some trouble with the XFX nVidia GeForce 6200 256 MB graphics card when running Windows 7 in. The computer seems to hang after a certain time, or when you try to play a video file. There is no error message, it just hangs. The first symptom is a weak performance in the response of the mouse, the cursor moves too slowly across the screen. Then the screen blinks twice and remains with striped and jacquard everywhere. Finally, the screen goes black. Sometimes, if the failure is not too severe, my Office updates and wrote a message pop up: driver nVidia Geforce 197... has stopped working.

I checked, the microsoft Web site, and he says the nVidia Geforce 6200 256 MB is fully compatible with Windows 7. I also tried different drivers, installation of the own driver and even the manufacturer of the card could not give me a solution to my problem.

    My specs are:

    AMD Sempron 2600 + mhZ

    1 GB OF DDR400 RAM

    180 GB SATA HDD

    nVidia Geforce 6200 256 MB

Card mother PC CHIPS A31G V1.0

(I've updated the system BIOS, drivers of all other devices are thus updated)

    HI Ricar2009,

    Thank you for your message.

"When I use the Microsoft WDDM drivers by default, aero experience is much better, virtually free of frost.

When the Compatibility Center says it's OK, he also said that no other software is required. In other words, that it is Plug-and-Play.

Using the custom driver NVIDIA seems to pose a few problems, because they may be in conflict with another program.

I suggest to perform a clean boot to see if a startup program can cause the problem.

What size power supply do you use?

The only Gig of RAM can definitely cause this issue when using the resource intensive applications.

The RAM has write back on the hard disk, resulting in delays enough highlight the video card driver as it tries to buffer videos, games, etc.

This would also explain the slowdown in the mouse, because the computer is stumbling to cope.

Start up programs running in the background and can devour huge amounts of resources.

Programs may sometimes have memory leaks that cause this as well.

I suggest upgrading your RAM, if possible, if the clean boot does not help.

  • NVIDIA geforce 9800 gt problem

My graphic screen developed defects. I tried different drivers and system restores and checked for viruses without success to find a solution. Games informs me that the accelerator is turned off or not supported. Hardware diagnostic tells me detected driver problem and windows has stopped with the code 43. (I can't find help with this). I checked the compatibility, but he has again without problem. Now, the computer is very slow because of this error. Do I have a hardware problem or software and can be solved easily. Pointers as I take will be appreciated. Bill.

    Hi BillofEssex,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. What is the exact error message when receiving when you play?

    3. have you installed the latest drivers from Nvidia website graphics card?

Error code 43 means Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems.

I suggest that you download and install the latest drivers for the graphics card on the Nvidia site, if you have not done, using the link below and check it if it works manually.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/Win7-WinVista-32bit-266.58-WHQL-driver.html

If the motherboard has an internal graphics card, then you can also remove the card from the computer and run using the built-in graphics card and check if it works.

    I hope this helps!

I wanted more video memory and I bought the agp card. After installing it, my ram went up to 2.5 GB. I changed all the settings in the bios, and nothing happened. • Problem with NVidia GeForce 650GTX installation/update of drivers

I bought a VR Deepoon E2 helmet last week. Installed according to the instructions. Home screen don't watch in headset for installation appears to succeed. Tried to use it with the Steam VR DCS World Flight Sim game (which he has been quoted as being able to do), but nothing in the helmet. Disconnected leaves VR on PC and Steam steam. Headset is back to a blue room screen smoky (immersion 3D yet) with a message to reset the headset by pressing the A button on the device to hand.  While software Deepoon software Oculus Rift DK2, he was of course, using the Deepoon E2-based does not come with the hand units as the Rift of Oculus, so I could not use any button.

Active Web. Uninstalled and reinstalled as recommended (possibly 5 times). Always comes down on a blue color screen with the Message "A switch". Web checked and found Deepoon Assistant Software. This allowed me to spend DK1 DK2 and Deepoon, but any helmet showed was now a big Red Letter D on a gray background.

Checked the web once again, and he says that the only way was to uninstall a remove all traces of the Oculus and Deepoon from my PC, including my registry. I did it with great care, but think I may have missed and remove some registry keys which makes reference to my NVidia GeForce graphics card 650 GTX which could have are embedded in the Oculus/Deepoon records.  Now given up trying to get this working VR helmet (he had other problems as well as glitch shaped growing on the right lens and not perfectly update) and I'll send the item back for a full refund on EBay.

Having provided the measures so far, my current status is now worse.  I can't use my graphics card. In Device Manager, it shows an exclamation point, and the games that worked before will not now due to the "lack of DX11 compatible hardware. I tried the update drivers and then downloading the driver from Nvidia for my graphics card, and in both cases, the drivers will not install because there is no recognized the installed card. I tried uninstalling the driver and graphic card and then search for the new hardware in Device Manager. He finds that the GTX 650 but used to always install the driver concerned. I even thought of removing the card graphic, commissioning, remove all references from Nvidia in the registry, close, put my card back in and go upward as if it were to find the map for the first time, but I'm now concerned I will be myself deeper bury.

If someone could help me please with what I'm doing now, because I'm at a loss and without my games I'm even more depressed. I am running out of ideas and short to the shop that will probably charge me a fortune for a simple registry repair my computer, I don't know what else to do. I have a last file 'dxdiag' that if someone can help I can send it in by e-mail if you need for further investigation. It's my last option.

  • Problem NVIDIA GeForce 820 M installation drivers for Windows 7 64 - bit for HP 15 - r022TX

I recently bought a HP laptop 15-022TX (with NVIDIA GeForce 820 M card) from Flipkart. I installed Windows 7 Pro 64 - bit of DreamSpark and downloaded the driver for the card from here.
Now when I run the Setup, it gives the following error:

I walked to the Intel Download Center and use the Intel® driver update utility. But it seems that Internet Explorer crashes whenever I start the utility (tried with Windows 7 Pro 32/64 - bit, Windows 64-bit Pro 8.1).

Now I wanted to determine my Intel graphics driver so here is the output of 'Right click on the desktop'-> 'Screen Resolution'-> advanced settings.

So, how do I know which driver to download from the Intel Download Center? In "Find by category," I looked in "Graphics"-> "Laptop drivers graphic", but none of the drivers listed seems to help.

PS - Ironically, I could find help to install the driver for Ubuntu much faster.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you DerekQ and Paul_Tikkanen for the suggestions. But it seems that I solved my problem. I downloaded SlimDrivers free from download.com and let it scan my laptop. It automatically detected the obsolete VGA driver and downloaded and installed the appropriate Intel HD graphics card driver.

in any case thank you for your support!

    Hello gentlemen!

I would like to know why the graphics card is not detected in my PC.

    The graphics card is 64-bit 1024Mo sDDR3

    And the CPU has

    Intel I3, 6 GB ram

    -Installed the gpu

    -Start windows built in graphics

-installation of the driver fails two albums and the latest drivers downloaded from Nvidia or Palit saying there are no devices detected installing

-checked the BIOS and I saw that pci slot where my g-card displayed an [empty]

-traveled around the bios by any disabling of options for my integrated in the card or anything... any

-checked around dell.com and saw that nvidia geforce 210 cards are compatible with my pc model exactly, even if this compatible graphics card has been a model of Evga, not a model from Palit.

-which is where I started scratching my head

Is there other details, that I need to provide?

    I appreciate the help.

The 210 was a terrible GT card when it comes to compatibility.  Brand can also make a difference. Given that the GT 210 is an old map of the series, I would say get a GT 610 rather like this one HERE and turning the GT 210.  The EVGA TG 610 is also mentioned as being compatible with the Optiplex 390 DT.  I assume that you bought a PCI Express X 16 video card and not a PCI card, correct?

    > During a game for half an hour, the screen darkens and a second view later, I get a blue screen.
Well, my first thought is that this problem is related to the graphics driver.
I mean it could be a software problem.
But I know that a BSOD can also occur if the graphics card chip began to malfunction.
In your case I m not sure what could cause this problem. But to play a game, that the GPU is running with a maximum yield and produce a lot of heat. If the temperature rises to a higher level the GPU can also cause a BSOD.

Anyway, first of all, you must check if the graphics card driver update could solve this problem.
Maybe you could use a driver from other websites but please note that this is ONLY possible at your peril!
