Missing channels!

There are two channels that media center units will not detect. I get the channels on my TV tuner and software provided with the tuner card but not the library. I tried to manually install channels but nothing. I tried another card tuner... nothing. I have Edition Vista Home premium 64-bit...

Hi Homebuilt953,

What are the channels are not getting detected?

First of all, you can check with your provider to cable if these channels is provided by them.

Second, you can download updated guide list to check and windows media center if you get a message after you have added the chain.

Download updated listings in the Guide in Windows Media Center

I hope this helps.

  • WMC - Winchester, KY (zip 40391) EPG completely wrong. Missing channels - Rovi question?

Two weeks ago, that my Motorola tuning adapter did not close on a signal for upstream, so I called TWC and determined the problem to be a signal issue, so they sent a new tuning adapter. I installed Wednesday last and same problem, so I arranged to have TWC out home yesterday. Over the weekend the signal sets itself and I got a lock on the tuning adapter...

I made the mistake to repeat the TV installation in WMC when the tuning adapter was not working (I didn't know what was the problem at the time) and now I'm missing channels I actually watch. If I understand correctly Novi takes the data from the guide at the beginning of July. My HD Homerun first scanning channels shows all channels correctly that I pay for, however because of the horrible guide from Microsoft for WMC 40391 lack channels such as Discovery HD, DRY, Science-HD Network and much much more channels for Winchester, KY (code postal 40391). I tried to Lexington (40509) which is also served by TWC and although a ton more channels is presented, they are completely incompatible with the TWC to Winchester. For example, the network guide food songs actually channel FX. There are some multiple choice questions for Winchester - analog, digital, digital reconstruction & digital, analog of Richmond Richmond. I tried them all and each of them lack the main channels (for me). How can I get Microsoft to fix their chain and guide information for Winchester, KY 40391? I had changed my HOSTS file to point to localhost, so that I can go through the installation of the TV and make check TWC sends them and they are adjustable, but without a guide WMC is useless as a DVR in all layers of WMC without a guide. I finished repeat Setup with the 'Winchester digital reconstruction', but missing my favorite channels. Help!

Yes, I went on these documents already. Your name for 'Winchester digital' and 'Digital Winchester rebuild' are completely false for zip code 40391. Fortunately, you have included "Digital Richmond" as an option for the same code zip and 97% of these channel numbers match the correct call signs\programming\guide for channels on my part of Winchester. I guess it's possible that Time Warner Cable provides configurations different channel for different parts of Winchester; Although we are a small town.

In any case, my problem is now solved by using "Digital Richmond" under zip code 40391. It wasn't easy for me to choose this one in TV in WMC signal configuration, because I do not live in Richmond, KY., but now that I know of to use if I rebuild my system, I shouldn't lose so much time to try all the solutions, I had looked at this time.

  • Toshiba 32W1333DN: name of moving/deleting/edit buttons for the missing channels

    Hello

I just bought 32W1333DN in Sweden.
But I can't change the position of the channels in the channel list.

Both the Quick start guide that comes in the box with the TV and the online manual has pictures and details on how to move/remove the channels and change the names of channel in the channel list.

    I'm supposed to go in
Menu->-> Edit Channel List channel list.

Once there, I select channels and perform tasks by selecting the buttons.

But these buttons aren't where I watch my TV.
    Instead of the buttons for * OK * / * Move * / * remove * / * change name * / * lock * I've * OK * / * lock *.

    What is going on?

In settings, version of the program is * V.2.1.4A * and upgrade software * V.2.1.9x *.

    Hello

Please take a look in the user manual

For example, to move the only channel in the list, you must do the following:
Channel order can be changed according to your personal preferences.

SELECT the main key channels list menu, then press OK.
Select modify the channel list to manage all channels. Use upward or downwards and the OK button to select Edit list of strings.

  • Windows Media Center Vista don't tune in digital channels of PCI digital tuner tv.

I recently installed a new Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 NTSC? ATSC/QAM tuner in my computer. Its a dual core 2.66 mhz 4GB Ram running Windows Vista Home premium with Windows Media Center. The tuner is made to work with Windows Media Center according to its box. He also had his own software cleaner, IE. WinTV, which I also loaded. I have an antenna hanging good input on the tuner card. That same exact antenna wire hooked to a digital TV Gets the following strings... 6.1 and 6.2 - 6.3 - 8.1 - 8.2-8.3-17.1-17.2 - 17.3 - 22.1
WinTV those gets exactly the same channel list and can display them all. Windows Media Center, after the execution of the installation routine, list the same channels, but do not think that all. Problem channels are 8.2 - 8.3 - 17.1 - 17, 3.  These channels show in the guide as "No Data Available" and when you select them, there is no signal detected. Yet, channel 8.1 and 17.1 gave Guide and discover very well. It is interesting when you go through special antenna Signal: settings: TV: Digital TV the 8.2 problem channels - 8.3 - 17.1 - 17, 3 list all the and are verified with check marks and show full signal strength. I spent time trying to play with the Guides Add announcement & edit channels and add missing channels. Also, I spent time with "Set Up TV signal" several times.
Any suggestions? Why is the windows media center grateful but not display secondary digital channels, still recognizing and displaying the primary digital channel very well. It can be the signal or the pilots, because MyTV of Hauppage shows them all very well.
    Help?

Try windows update.  I use this card with media center 7 and had no problem getting all the digital channels.

  • Media Center not display or record one channel. Signal OK

I have an ATI tuner card in a desktop under Vista Home Premium PC.  When I run Setup of Media Center, he finds all the channels.  When I select in this case channel 56.1 (or 56.2 and 56.3) I get nothing.  As a result, I can't save this channel either.  I'm in the Los Angeles area, with a roof antenna, the signal strength is not the problem.

If I use the ATI application, the channel comes very well and records too.

I have a laptop running Windows 7.  I just bought a key USB from Hauppauge.  Windows Media Center detects all channels, and on this configuration, I can view 56.1 etc..  BUT, when I select a program to record from the EPG, it not save and give an error message that there is no signal.  If I look at the same channel when a record event program starts, the screen goes black, and the level of the signal LED on the USB turns off.

As with the other computer, the application supplied with the device works very well on the channel in question.

On both computers, I tried to manually add the channel (the physical channel is 32), no luck.  All the other channels, with the exception of the 56 works very well.

My conclusion is that the electronic Program Guide to be a mistake for this channel.  As it does on two different computers with two different tuners, two different antennas and all other channels work fine, I don't see how it could be a hardware problem.

For any help or suggestions would be most appreciated!

    Hello

    Method 1:
You can also create a new user account with administrative privileges and try to save channel in Windows Media Center. If it works fine, it means that the other user account is damaged.
    Create a user account
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account
Access the link below and follow the steps to fix a corrupted user profile: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, you can try the steps and check:
    a. go to settings-guide-add missing channels.
    b. type in right channel # (like 8.1).
    c. then put in the right frequency for the station live.
    d. now, you will have 2 channels in guide for 8.1 lists. Right-click on the new guide that lists you just create and go change the channel-edit lists.
    e. can change the list source to the channel that you have problems with. Then go to tv setting-tv digital signal signal strength.
    f. then UN check channel which did not properly record to remove it from the guide.

You can access the link below and follow the steps to solve the problem with the recording on your Media center.

  • Media Center will not register a particular channel, but all other records very well

Hello, I can not Media Center to record a particular channel unless I am diverted listed steps below.  I get all the live channels.

-the channel, I can't save is 30.1 in Memphis, TN (subsidiary CW) channel

-My tuner: AVerMedia AVerMedia Duet - PCTV Tuner (A188 - white box) Interface PCI-Express x 1 MTVHDDUWB

When I try to record a program at any time on channel 30, Media Center loses signal.

While playing with it, I discovered that I can click to save while watching channel 30, then after that Media Center loses signal, follow these steps:

    Reach

Settings/TV/TV Signal / Scan for multiple channels

So, I have to empty the scanned channels and re-scan.

Then it will start to record the channel 30.1.

Help, please!  Why Media Center will not record 30.1 without all this trouble?

    Thank you

    Kris

Go to settings-guide-add missing channels. Type in right channel # (like 8.1). Then put in the right frequency for the over-the-air station (35 in my case). You can find this info here (http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx) if necessary. Now, you will have 2 channels in guide for 8.1 lists. Right-click on the new guide that lists you just create and go change the channel-edit lists. Change the source from the list to the channel that you have problems with. Next pass parameter-signal digital tv signal strength and a Coachman television that did not properly record to remove the Guide channel. This will fix your problem.

  • Windows media center analysis drops channels with the call sign not in the guide

I'm trying to find the right place to report this problem.

When library scanned for channels recently that he hasn't found a bunch of DTT hd (clearqam) who are present and unencrypted.

Scanning with the help of the application of the tv tuner has revealed that the channel was present and unencrypted.

He showed that the channels have call signs which were not present in the digital guide. that is a call sign was "KPHO HD" when the digital guide for the channel list KPHODT

I had checked in the list of all channels that find the Media Center and the numbers were not present in media center.

This seems to be a bug because the channel should be found even if no digital guide for the channel is found.

The solution is to locate the actual channels by another application.

Add channels with the guides Add missing channels

Change the channel to have the correct list and the channel number.

  • Is it possible to manually search channels in Media Center?

Mainly in my region of the United Kingdom I'm at roughly the center of 2 DTV transmitters.  This results in duplication of a lot of my channels, and as my Welsh is quite non-existent, I didn't want to have these channels.  There is no way I can delete my current line-up and manually search the frequencies I want?  My TV and all my boxes of TNT have this option but I can't find it on WMC.  I don't want to not load all of them and then try to delete the based Welsh, as well as outside the BBC channels stating for example BBC1 in Wales, I have no idea of who is who and I hear not sit and watch each are looking for regional programming.  Thanks in advance.

    Hello scooter91170,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

Here is the solution posted here by Valkeryie MT in a post to the www.thegreenbutton.com:

    1. In settings > TV > Guide > Edit channels.
    2. In settings > TV > Guide > add missing channels > add DTV channel. Start by adding the number of the original channel, then on the next page, type in the assignment of frequencies to antennaweb.org.  Then, fill the call letters for the station or something (I don't think that is really too long put you something).  Repeat for each channel.
    3. I n settings > TV > Guide > Edit channels, go to the newly added channels and highlight the description of the channel to the right of the check box (usually call letters) and press ok.  Then select "Edit lists", look for the info guide channel in the list (I've sorted by channel number).  Then he will show you two choices, choose "copy ".  Then repeat for each channel (choose copy or you will get errors later).

If this solution does not help you, I suggest you post to www.thegreenbutton.com/forums. It is a Microsoft site and deals only with problems in Windows Media Center. They should be better able to solve your problem.

    I hope this helps.

These just is be my favorite of course. No idea what to do?

    Hello

    Method 1:

You can use the following steps to search for more channels and verification-
On the Windows Media Center start screen, navigate to tasks, click settings, click TV, click on the TV Signaland then do one of the following:

-Click search for other channels, and then follow the instructions. Media Center will search for additional channels that may be available for your TV tuner.

-Click on Intensity of Signal Digital TV antennaand then follow the instructions. Media Center analyzes each channel individually and view its signal strength. On Digital TV antenna and choose channel setting screen, you can clear the check box next to the channels with little or no signal that they will not be displayed in the Guide.

Also, you can use the TV Tuner troubleshooting utility and check if it lists any problems-
    1. open the implementation of corner store TV tuner by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel.
    2. in the search box, type Troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. In the left pane, click view all, and then click set up TV tuner.

Go to settings-guide-add missing channels. Type in right channel # (like 8.1). Then put in the right frequency for the over-the-air station (35 in my case). • HD channel added to the existing range of Windows Media Center

  • Windows Media Center using only not to Clear QAM channels, at least some of them.

So check it... I already updated my operating system from Windows Vista to Windows 7 as soon as it became available last year and had been using Windows Media Center on my HP m8330f to record live shows with a digital antenna.  I decided, spotty reception because, as I plug in my TV Tuner directly through my cable (without decoder) and Clear QAM channels this mode of access.  After noticing that my old TV Tuner was missing several channels (not shown 6) I chose to add missing channels, as shown in several forum posts.  I added successfully most of the available channels except the two I wanted most, NBC and ABC.  Since my TV Tuner was quite old (double ViXS ban, card simple tuner), I decided to upgrade to the Hauppauge 2250 encryption that could be a cause for the missing channels... and more, it is a ban on double, double tuner the card.  Alas, the Hauppauge worked in much the same way that its predecessor and the lack of NBC (4.1) and ABC (2.1) are not found... even after attempting to add channels.  All that is visible is a "Service is unavailable" message.

I am a customer of Time Warner Cable in New York and have had no problem accessing these (Clear QAM) channels on my' computer', the LG 32LH40 thanks its tuner internal.  Moreover, I was able to access these same channels via the same TV Tuner using WinTV v7 and Beyond TV.  This leads me to believe that the problem lies in the Windows Media Center software.

I am a big fan of Windows Media Center and love how convenient it is (apart from my current dilemma) and still want to use it as my main media look at a software but I'm torn on this issue.  I don't know if you have experienced this problem before, but I am quite stunned, especially since I feel like I've exhausted all channels (which goes as far to add the channels first as a modulation QAM 64 and 256).  Does anyone else have this problem?  Any ideas would be extremely useful.

    Thank you!

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your help!  I thought both on the channel number, but I could not find a network ads everywhere about my service area (I had not yet known on that SiliconDust website but I just took a shot and that's exactly what I needed...) (Thank you!) ; or the information that I found were incorrect.  I ended up working all last night.

After many rescan with WinTV and Beyond TV, I could finally figure what channel were virtual and who were not and add missing channels accordingly.  Remappe MC my 104,2 at 4.2 but not my 104.1 makes my TV as well as WinTV.  Beyond TV didn't display the number of virtual channel while parsing, so I was able to get the numbers of QAM channels how.  He was just working backwards.  However, MC had yet 104.1 (my 4.1 missing such as mentioned in my previous post) in his 'detected chains"(strangely)... so I added it.

Thank you for this Web site again!

  • How can I get the Windows 7 Media Center guide to update the channel list.

I noticed that lists of TV channels in Windows 7 Media Center guide are incomplete.  Not all available channels are appearing.  They disappeared for some time.  I checked the lists online of zapsit and they contain the missing strings.  The program zap2it descriptions are more precise than what appears in the Media Center guide.
How can I get the added missing channels?
