There is no topic and no content in these emails, just a link to click on. I clicked on the first link sent my grandson. The first time, my search engine, Mozilla Firefox, would not lead the link. So 6 or so, he led to a site advertising Viagra. Quickly, I broke the link. I have not clicked on the link in his second e-mail "not applicable". But I sent him a separate email, asking him why he was sending these. Then today I received another one of those spam e-mails from the friend of the family (which had not sent us more than 2 years) and was immediately suspicious.

  It is obvious to me now that these two people have had their email accounts hijacked. Am I at risk of also taken hostage? My only security is Microsoft Security Essentials. It will be enough? Or I have to download Malwarebytes and perform a scan in safe mode, etc. ?

  1st thing to do is to warn them that their yahoo accounts have been compromised; You can call if necessary if they are not replying to emails on your part

  and also tell them to change their email Yahoo password

  5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

• Why can I not add a yahoo email account to "People" app?

  I created a yahoo email link in the pane on the start page email and it works, but only to see and read the mail - I can't send mails (except in typing an address) because my contact list was not imported.  It seems so if I can only use it efficiently using the browser.  Which is OK, but not what I thought was intended...   PPS 14/11/2012: in response to another of my posts, someone suggested the simple solution that I followed: open a GMail account, import my contacts from Yahoo to Gmail, then add the Gmail account to the accounts of persons of the Surface.  Bingo, had my Yahoo on the Surface contacts in 5 minutes!

  Please, do not type in uppercase.  It is difficult to read and is considered as shouting.

  In the toolbar is an icon that looks like a paper clip (or you can add it to the toolbar if necessary).  It is the attachment icon.  With the open email, click on the attachment icon and follow the directions to locate the file you want to attach (the picture) and then follow the directions to complete the attachment.  When you send the email, the picture will be attached for the recipient to open.  Try to use a type of current (such as .jpg) file to send the photo, so that the recipient is not troubled to convert the file to be able to see it.
