  AMD products give me fits trying to find their drivers.  The device is a controller Bus SM AMD. That's about all I can find these details.

  No discussion on the Forum from the HP Support addresses this issue on my specific computer. I have a desktop Pavilion p7 1070t, running the operating system Windows 7 64 bit, with an Intel Core processor i3-2120 CPU and graphics of AMD Radeon HD 6450.

  After reinstallating Windows 7 on a new hard drive, the computer works fine, but Mgr. device reports a problem: the SM Bus controller is equipped with a road sign and said that no driver is installed.

  I went through several steps on the web:

  Device Mgr in an attempt to find and install a driver fail.

  Dxdiag does not identify the chipset MFG & name.

  The chipset driver for my computer is not on the HP software and support.

  Intel driver update utility identifies a necessary file (WH is not a pilot but an .ini file), but the installation fails.

  A suggested version of SetupChipset downloaded Intel does nothing.

  Can anyone help with this?

• Missing satellite C870 - 11G - "SM BUS controller driver" for Win 7 64 bit

  Good afternoon

  After extensive research of the forums, I was unable to find a solution so far.

  A few months ago, after the demise of his previous Satellite, my friend has acquired a Satellite C870 - 11G on Windows 7 (64-bit).

  She acquire the machine online from PC World, and after that make the updates of windows put in place using the Zonealarm free firewall & 2013 AVG antivirus free. We have installed the Microsoft Office 365 and the bundled drivers for HP Deskjet F4180 sound.

  Initially, everything went very well, but a month ago, the machine does not recognize the printer.

  After the troubleshooting thing, the machine has reported a "SM BUS controller driver" as being missing.

  "Search etc, after much net more faffing autour with the restoration of the system", I could not yet set and so went to the "nuclear" option i.e. I backed up all its data and doing a complete reset of the recovery partition.

  We have gradually been put back together, reload its data, re-installing of ZoneAlarm and AVG, Picassa & Office 365. Yesterday I went to re - install printer drivers, but before doing so checked Device Manager to see that the error "SM BUS controller driver is missing" was. Grrrrr...

  I tried to use system restore to return point of restoration of a restore point but that too now fails every time with error (0x80070005).

  Before we go again nuclear, anyone has any ideas please...?

  Just redid my g7-1365dx and I can't find the "sm bus controller driver" I found an old article here but the links are not good. At all other drivers except this one.   Download and uncompress the file in its folder.

  Don't do anything with the files in the folder.

  Go to Device Manager and click the controller smbus who need the pilot.

  Click the driver tab.

  Click on set to update driver.

  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver folder, that you unzipped.

  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

  Restart the PC.
