Missing music folder

Just got a Sport Clip after the execution of my original Sansa Clip into the ground after 6 years and more. Hip, slipped and fallen, everything seems to work fine...

Then I unplugged my computer without using the option eject secure Windows. First of all, I had about 12 different copies of each song that I have loaded on the MP3 player in the music folder. Then, when I went to try, then plug it back, my music folder is now missing. I have a folder for the Audible file, audio books, lists of reading, Podcastas and Audbook, Audible, M3U, music and Podcast Library. Now the MP3 says there is no music.

I also have a file that only says: 'Music' without extension.

When I try to create a folder that says music, it is said that the fodler already exists. I updated the firmware (I downloaded the update of Sana just to be safe). I can't find a solution. Any thoughts or do you permanently screw it up?

Get rid of the update of the firmware. It works all the time and slows down your pc. Manual installation of the firmware is so easy. Just follow the instructions.

Format the drive by using the Player menu-settings, Control Panel, format.

Download the latest firmware and reinstall manually.

  • How to move or rename the music folder?

I have a 50,000 ranked songs and thousands of podcasts, mixes, music videos or applications.

I understand that the so-called gel and iTunes questions all trolling are down to a large enough or maybe completely stupid thing that is the 'keep the organized library option '. That doesn't make a sense, is impossible to run (it would take days, and of course, it freezes the whole computer), put the files where you didn't ask whether they are and then don't know how to recover.

Because I am enjoying a summer break, I clean my readers and so I decided to do a cleanup, rename and move my music folder that contains all my music classified by artists alongside the iTunes folder.

Fortunately for me I have zero confidence for Apple, as they were ISIS, so I hold the number and the location of the files because I realize that of course when a play one music it plays very well because itunes detects the song even though she move which it is supposed to do with finder file system.

But then I restart iTunes to test and here you have this infuriating, incomprehensible problem "song not found" with all my songs, and even if I indicate the new positioning of the library this shit of iTunes is unable to find the songs and it will probably take years to re-index, as iTunes was even able to this without * computer.

So: How can I move/rename my file without iTunes * up to the library and the paths of the music? Or is there any decent replacement for this * software yet? I have a lot of things and people to manage just in music, even if I used it for 15 years I don't have the patience to endure this * voluntarily, Apple seems to make it worse every update, more.

  • music iTunes 12.4 deleted in the library (always in the 'Music' folder if...)

The automatic update wiped out my library (only things I bought in iTunes are left and again only for release...)

Fortunately, all of this still exists in my iTunes music folder. Advice on the best way to get iTunes to recognize?

  • iTunes Music folder structure is messed up

    Hello

I use the latest edition of iTunes on a PC for Windows 10.

Today, I have activated the option "keep iTunes Media folder." organized I think I know that iTunes puts the music in the folder Media\Music of... \iTunes. However, in my case, iTunes put all my music in the press kit... \iTunes. Now I have all my records artist at this place, which I don't want.

I also installed iTunes on my laptop to doublecheck, and there he put my music in the music folder, as it should, so there must be a specific problem with the unit. Is there a file that may be damaged or something? Any ideas?

    Thank you and best regards

I was able to solve the problem with the ALT-> file-> library-> library organization... and then check ' rearrange files in the folder "iTunes Media.

It all reorganized the way it should be.

  • Looking for a store iTunes Media in the music folder files, any body know where is the press kit?

    Hi all

I'm trying to locate the folder ITunes Music Media; I looked in my music folder and the press kit was not there, someone he knows where

This media file is the store?

    Here, in this folder: / Users/user/music /.

  • Why are there so many duplicates in my music folder?

I went in my iTunes Media/Music folder to find a song corrupt and noticed that most of my music has been duplicated once or several times.  There is the original song and the other with a '1' or '2' some time after the title.  That's happened?  I guess that I should not worry but I have only approximately 3,500 songs in iTunes, but there are now more than 10,000 files in this folder and duplicates are taking up more than 50 GB.  What can I do about it without screwing up iTunes and how do I keep it doesn't happen?  Thank you.

One possible approach is to use the file > add folder to library to add the iTunes Media folder, and then everything that is currently in the press kit and is not already connected to the library will be added to it. You can then deduplication.

iTunes can create duplicates if the same content is added several times from outside the media folder when it is about to make copies of everything that is added to the library, or is added from an external drive that hosts the press kit that was disconnected during the launch of iTunes.

Official notice of Apple on the duplicates is here: find and remove duplicates in your iTunes library. This is a manual process and article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as the lost coast and membership of playlist, or sometimes the same file can be represented by multiple entries in the library as well as a removal and recycling the file will break all the others.

Use MAJ > view > show items to reproduce exactly to display the duplicates because it is normally a selection more useful. You must manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sort the list by Date added can make easier select appropriate tracks, but it works better when executed immediately after the dupes were created.  If you have several entries in iTunes connected to a same file on the disk hard then don't not send to trash.

Use my DeDuper script (Windows only) If you are not sure, do not want to do it by hand, or want to maintain ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this background thread , this post for detailed instructions and Please take note of the warning to back up your library before deduping.

(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to temporarily view or CTRL + B to keep displayed.)

The latest version of the script can put away the dead links as long as there is at least a double live to merge his stats and membership of the playlist and must deal wisely when the same file has been added through multiple paths.

  • What is the difference between the music folder and folder machine Apple TV (3rd generation).

My question is my lack of knowledge on the different options of music to Apple TV. I see two folders, 'Music' and 'Computer', which seems both have my music library. The playlists are different and incomplete in the Music"" folder. The "Computer" folder seems to have a better reflection of my catalog of music.

I have the music Apple and operational Match on all my devices.

The music icon is for streaming from the cloud and would have access to your library, if you use iTunes game. The computers icon, is streaming your iTunes on your local computer using home sharing.

If there are differences in the playlists in the section music on ATV then you can enable/disable iTunes game and restart.

  • How can I keep XP pro to create a 'My music' folder by default in C; \MyDocuments after I moved the folder on a 2nd HARD drive?

I installed a 2nd HDD in my PC and moved the folder my music on the new drive. Now, XP Pro creates a my music folder on default in C:\MyDocuments once again on the C:\ drive and stores music files here by default. I don't want a folder my music on the C:\ drive, that's why I installed a 2nd HDD to keep my separate music. Is it possible to 'say' XP Pro does not create the default folder?

    Hello Toddy - USA,

Unfortunately, this is normal and default Windows creates a Documents folder even if you delete it. However, if you have saved the music to another folder, you can set Media Player to use a default folder to access music files.

    a. Open Media Player, press the Alt key to bring up the file menu.

    b. click on file, manage libraries, and music.

Here you can add and remove sites and also to select the default location.
