• BlackBerry Smartphones red flashes 4 times and custom lights

  Phone turns off.

  Tried plug it into a wall usb cable charger and laptop to charge, but each time the constant stay red time for about a minute and then turns it flashing four times quickly and then a short break and then blink four times (and he repeated just that over and over again.)

  On XP (in this case in a parallels VM) I uninstalled all the blackberry related to software give me a clean slate.

  I bought a Blackberry Curve in November, and the phone locked on me last week.  It could not be fixed and as it was under warranty, they gave me a reconditioned as a replacement model.  I swear on my original Blackberry Curve when a message came to the light flashed red until I opened the message.  On the replacement phone, the indicator light flashes red but only for a few minutes, then it stops.  Is it supposed to stop flashing or continue until what I opened the email?  I don't know if the replacement phone is having a problem.  Thanks for your help.

  Leave the battery choke.  Remove/replace the battery and charge it.  It should pop back, but this is a temporary fix.  It will happen again.  Back up your Blackberry Desktop Manager data and replace the unit.

  Sorry to hear about the frustration!  If you have a red X as you encounter so you may have a problem with one of the five elements (in general): 1) the SIM card is dying; (2) software system on the phone is messed up; 3) there is something physically wrong with the phone. (4) your service provider is having a problem with their service (towers, stations, certain basic SIM cards have problems); or (5) your service provider is not a general problem, but a problem that applies to your account only.  Before contacting your service provider, you can also try pulling the SIM card and ensure that the contacts are clean.  If this is OK, then try your SIM card in another phone... is the OK signal on another phone?  Finally, if you are uncomfortable with him... reinstall the system software for your phone.  You should be able to access the website of your service provider and get the handheld to your phone software.  Even if you have the latest version of the software, you can reinstall again to correct the defects of the system.  If these steps do not help, it's the phone or your service provider.

  I need some information on the flashing red led that flashes when you receive new messages.   Aimee, the notification light only stays on for about 15 minutes after the last message again.

• Tasks missing after blackBerry Smartphones application that put 5.0 on level

  I'm having a problem with my Tour 9630.  Upgrade to 5.0 and no apps to memo or task.  Tried everything.  Seems strange that BlackBerry would not auto load these applications and allow the user to remove themselves.  I'm tired of delete, reload, research, etc. for this is resolved.  Any easier way?

  Somehow, I was able to upgrade to a version of the platform that is not supported by my BB Tour 9630.  When I went to Verizon, downloaded the latest version for my phone which is v5.0 (Bundle 1600, platform 4.2.0.424) and installed it that everything worked fine.  Tasks, Notepad, even all games apps are now available.  When I opened by the Office Director, Applications was all there.  I was able to install patches and Notepad.  Works great!

  Still trying to figure out how I had the wrong version loaded on my phone.  My suggestion is to be careful with the version that you install.  Check with your carrier or BlackBerry that you have the correct version.
