Missing UltraNav driver on Windows 7 / T400s

In "Device Manager" of Win 7, my mouse shows as "PS/2 Compatible Mouse" and keyboard shows like ' keyboard Standard PS/2 '.  Here's what I got after a new installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and after running all the driver installation files downloaded on the Lenovo support site.

Note that among the files of the Lenovo support Web site, it is "ThinkPad UltraNav Utility". It was installed successfully, but it has not changed the PS/2 for a one UltraNav driver. Now I work without scrolling on the touchpad.

I checked the BIOS settings. The touchpad and eraserhead are turned on.

Problem solved. Only, I have installed the UltraNav utility but missed UltraNav Driver.

  • How can we install automatically the UltraNav driver?

I have a x 230 with Windows 8. As some of you may know, the UltraNav driver on Windows 8 does not allow not the middle button be used for middle-click. As a solution, I use the generic mouse driver Synaptics, which works very well.

However, Lenovo or Windows (I suspect the latter) persistently tries to reinstall the driver UltraNav (hurt), who kills the Middle feature click. Thus, every once in a while when my system has been restarted after updates, I find that I can not middle-click, which means that I have to uninstall the UltraNav driver manually, restart, install the generic Synaptics driver, reboot again.

It is a huge problem, and I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Try turning off automatic updates of Windows in general.

  • Internal hard drive missing after upgrade to Windows 7

Western Digital internal hard (second drive) drive is not visible after I updated from XP to Windows 7.  The missing SATA drive is visible in the BIOS, but not when Start Menu Windows 7 finishes launching.  Westerm Digital "Data Lifeguard" also does not detect the SATA drive.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Shut down the computer and unplug the SATA cable on the second disc.

Restart Windows and go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.

If you have Windows 7 drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, from the card mother/chipset drivers, SATA, LAN, Audio, etc, and so on. Then shut down the computer.

Now reconnect the cable SATA and Windows startup, it should normally detect a drive is connected and indicate via a popup.

Then open "Disk Management" and see if the drive is listed.

  • Qosmio F50 - 10 M - infrared driver for Windows 7 64 bit missing

I want to change my OS from VISTA (32 bit) to Windows 7 (64-bit), I'm on downloading all the drivers needed for the proper functioning of my laptop in the future.

When the choice of my laptop (Qosmio F50 - 10 M) and operating system (Windows7 - 64 bit) there is no more infrared driver (for my remote).

Do I need to have a driver for the infrared interface (which I have and is downloadable with VISTA32)?
If Yes, where can I get it?

Thank you very much for the help!

    Kind regards
    starmind

    Hi Starmind_1,

I n t have remote to test my Qosmio F50 so that I can t but if there is no driver for Windows 7, I guess that the 64 bit Vista driver should work fine on Windows 7. In addition most Vista drivers also work on Windows 7 so it s worth a try! :)

But from my own experience, I can say that Windows 7 64 bit works like a charm on Qosmio F50 and in my opinion better than Vista. I used all the drivers from the official website of Toshiba and don t have problems.
    Everything works great! :)

  • restore the missing recovery program in d drive in windows 7

Soft recovery disappeared from the d drive in windows 7 on presario cq62-209wm.  How to restore the program?

    Hello

If you created your set of recovery DVDs, you to reinstall the operating system and software partitions all original - this procedure is described in the document of HP here.

If you do not have, or not to create these siscs, there are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.

  • HP Pavilion dv9700 CTO: missing device driver and software pre installed for HP Pavilion laptop PC e

I recently had to do a clean windows 7 install on this computer and lost all preinstalled

the device appears as base peripheral missing driver when I click on devices in the control panel.

the system was taken under vista years ago.

How can I get this driver. Windows cannot find anywhere.

How can I get the original software that was loaded in the back of the computer. I never had the installation discs for the programs of pre intalled.,

    Thank you

    Hello:

You need this driver for the base system device.

This package contains the driver for the Ricoh 5-in-1 card reader for laptops models and operating systems.

    File name: sp37809.exe

HP sells more recovery disc for this series of models... and they be for Windows Vista, W7.

The only available software that you can download is on the dv9700 support page.  The vista software should work on W7 excessively.

If you want all software original came with the laptop, you will need to see if you can still get a set of recovery disks Vista from a provider of 3rd party as the surgeons of the computer.

Install Vista using recovery disks, and then create an inplace move to W7.

  • T430u Audio driver for Windows 8.1

Hello. When Lenovo will get out a compatible audio driver Windows 8.1 for T430u? I'm looking forward to upgrade to 8.1 Windows but found that no audio driver for T430u supports Windows 8.1 of the Lenovo Web site.

Please update the audio driver for Windows 8.1, please take care.

    Hello

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

Apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you for the patience. Windows 8.1 is totally new approach and cannot be considered only as an update for Windows 8. Therefore, compatible drivers needs to be rethought so that they work properly in Windows 8.1. From now on, I can't engage the exact date of arrival of the missing drivers for T430u. You can expect it in the next few days, perhaps a week or even a month to release full and final of all drivers.

    Best regards

    Mithun.

  • W530 UltraNav Driver installed - where is the UltraNav utility?

I am at a loss as to where the options are to tweak the UltraNav pointer and the touchpad on my Win7 64 bit W530. I did a fresh install of Win7 on it and downloaded all the drivers (more to run the system update utility) and while the UltraNav Driver is correctly installed and working, I do not see any place to download the UltraNav UTILITY.

It's my ThinkPad fifth or sixth, and one of my favorite things is the UltraNav pointing combined with the touchpad. I would like to change the effort required on the pointing device, and then use the touchpad for idling and forced to control knobs. These settings have always been accessible on a tab on the control panel of the mouse after installing the UltraNav utility.

I thought that maybe the UltraNav Driver included the utility, but I can't find any way to access the old controls that I'm so used to having on pointing devices.

Any ideas what I may be missing? My Lenovo service ticket has been opened for two weeks now with no response, so I thought I would try my luck here.

    Thank you!!

Well, it seems that a launch utility that I used to open quickly the mouse control panel, it opens in a way that does not include the installed extensions!

If I just open the control panel of the mouse on the screen control panels, it is suddenly here!

Thanks for your quick response, ColonelONeill! I think that your answer made me look just a little more close, that was all that I need. :-)

    Hello

This problem can occur for the following reasons:

    • Auto-hide the taskbar has been selected for the taskbar and Start Menu Properties.
    • Your user account settings are corrupt.
    • The core files are damaged.
    • The Explorer.exe file does not load at startup.

  • Problems starting Windows XP. I get "the following file is missing or damaged. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM"message.

Original title: start windows xp questions

Windows xp. When I try to start the system I get the message "the following file is missing or damaged. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM... I have an xp disk and code but not sure if it is the origanal. When I start the computer, it does not start the windows xp disc.

If you get the message hal.dll missing, your system is still booting from the hard drive and do not boot from the XP Recovery Console CD (I hope that you have created).

There is no hal.dll on the CD you made if all goes well.

You must enter the BIOS of your system and make the first boot from the CD to your Pcakard device Bell looks like it firstly, instead to focus first on the HARD drive (make the drive the second choice for now).

Searching the Internet, I found a message that says to enter the Packard Bell BIOS you must do this:

Users of Packard Bell, you can access the BIOS set up by pressing the keys F1, F2 or del

I don't have a PB, so I can't say for sure if that works, or what to do after that - you will need to look around the BIOS for things like the boot order boot priority, etc. and make the CD drive the first choice, second choice HARD drive, save the settings, then you can boot from the CD I hope that you have made using these instructions.

Generally when the system detects a CD is inserted, it will sell you a message like this:

Press any key to boot from CD...

Then all the button and follow the rest of the instructions...

  • Impossibile to "start Windows because the following file is missing or damaged. Windows system32 config system

    1. Impossibile to "start Windows because the following file is missing or damaged. Windows system32 config system

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes pulling and buttons power).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).
There is zero logic to start try to copy files to a hard drive with a corrupted file system so corruption of file system must be fixed first using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk can solve your problem completely.
Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.
Start the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD, or create a bootable CD from the Console of the Recovery XP (no XP media required).
A CD of XP Recovery Console is not the same as the recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.
If you have any bootable CD to run the XP Recovery Console or that you are not sure what type of bootable CD you have, can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and don't forget (no support for XP not necessary).
If you need instructions to create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console, we can predict that too (just ask).
After booting into the Recovery Console, you should be in this folder:
    C:\WINDOWS
For each of your hard disk partitions, you must then run:
    Chkdsk /r
For example, at the Recovery Console prompt, enter:
    CHKDSK c: /r
Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time to complete or seem to be 'glued '.  Be patient.  If the HARD drive light flashes, it's something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.
The chkdsk/r must be completed without error, you may need to run several times until it does.
Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer and the report with your progress.
