  I use Vista Enterprise and had turned off UAC, because it was blocking everything (like its supposed to). Now UAC turned on. If I turn it off again, when I reboot, it comes back. I don't know what changes it back on. Is there a way to understand what is back on?

  Other information that might be useful: I'm an administrator (AFAIK), but some of the security settings are grey. For example, all user account control settings are listed but I can't change them.

  upgrade to Pro and use Group Policy.

  You may activate just of Panel as needed. for your administrator account.

My goal is to have this launch when you connect to all the computers in the workstation. The program works great! However, I can't start automatically. I added to group policy, as well under Windows Logon and start the system. I added as a .jar, such as a .bat, not even as a shortcut... no dice. Is it possible to get a .jar to run automatically at Windows logon via Group Policy?

  Also, I realize that JRE must be installed on all computers in the workstation for the .jar run. This isn't a problem, as many of our programs already require JRE.

  In the Group Policy Editor, I clicked on the links. The links are 'policy setting' and 'properties' (as shown in the screenshots). The links turned purple after I clicked on them. It shows not only on the specific links I clicked on. It shows on all the links that have a 'properties' or link "policy setting. Before they were blue.
