Mixer volume missing in the Notification bar

I read in previous posts and that you have followed the instructions.
I am running Windows Vista on a laptop Tobshiba satellite

When I click on properties / Notification area - the Volume is grayed out with no option to click on the box.

My speakers are working, just in a very low voice.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello vamadhatter, welcome.

Try this:

1. click on START
2. Type "regedit" (without the quotes) and press enter
3. at the top, go to Edition > search
4 type "IconStreams" (without the quotes) and press "next".
5. the first result should bring you to a window on the side right which shows something similar to this:

(Default)                     (value not set)
IconStreams xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
PastIconsStream xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx

6 right-click and delete the IconStreams and PastIconsStream
7. restart your computer and then you should be able to check the gray boxes in properties / Notification area

Let us know if it works,

Thank you!

In Lollipop, this has been changed. When you receive a text message and you use the pre-installed mail application, only the messaging icon will appear in your notification field and no floating text / scrolling as in the previous software. Unfortunately, I am not aware of all the 3rd party apps that have this kind of functionality, but there could be some app via Google game there.

    Notification icons
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/106787-notification-area-system-icons.html

    The tutorial has 3 methods.

Method is a general method which, unfortunately, rarely works because that box, you need to check usually grayed (unclickable).

Two method is only for Vista Ultimate and Enterprise.

Three method applies to all versions of Vista.

Use the Reg file download. It is simple and easy.

    * Do
sure that you restart the computer to complete the
    procedures.

P.S. Despite what the tutorial said, it is best to keep these files reg on the desktop. They will come to hand the next time that you lose one of these.
I had to use several times. They have the bad habit of going awol.

Four method is via the registry editor. If you are comfortable with editing the registry, give it a try.

The easiest and safest way is three method.

    ......................................................................................................
You can also do a system restore. Choose the date where all of your missing icons were present as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, click
    > Next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  • Icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area

I just reinstalled Win7 X 64 business but found that the icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area when I plug a USB key or external HARD drive (they don't work either by the way, I can view files in them no problem), I tried the solution of workaround suggested in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/safely-remove-hardware-icon-missing-and-cant-eject/e9fda0a2-c308-4853-bf1d-a3926ff0fcd1?page=1&tm=1299855382970#footer , but it does not resolve the issue, I don't see the USB stick or external HARD disk in the dialog 'remove hardware safely '. The only way I can eject a USB device is click on the drive in windows Explorer and select "eject" while even "eject" is not available for an external HARD drive

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot it?

    Use these settings:
via the toolbar - Menu bar
    'View' > 'Headers' > 'Normal '.

    Via the Menu icon:
'Icon of the menu' > 'View' > 'Headers' > 'Normal '.

  • AT300 - downoading arrow rest in the notification bar

Whenever I finished download an app from Google play, the download arrow remains as a solid white arrow in the notification bar.

If I turn off notifications, it still shows in the list with the name of the application downloaded beside him. Install a different application doesn't fix it, it just changing the name next to the arrow. Uninstalling the app doesn't fix or the other.

So far, the only things that work are a reboot or turn off the display for 10 seconds.

    Any advice?

    Hello

    Arrows of synchronization you speaking?
I read in some forums android on the similar problem on Android devices.
This seems to be caused by the function "sync contacts".
I think that turning off synchronization of contacts remove double arrow release the notification bar icon.

    Check this box:
Go to settings-> Applications-> applications > storage of Contacts (filter-> all)-> clear data.

So let the contacts of my Google Contacts sync and now it completes a synchronization if you use "Synchronize now".

  • startup, icons are missing in the menu bar

After installing startup ElCapitan, icons are missing from the menu bar. There are empty spaces where start icons should be. Basically the icons are there but they are invisible.

Be specific, or better yet show a screenshot where you expect to see the icons (you can use the application overview use the arrows to point to areas) and let us know exactly which apps you expect to see.

Also, make sure that the apps that you expect to see are supposed to work in El Capitan!
