MMC returns "MMC could not create the snap-in" when I try to run GPEdit.msc

MMC returns "MMC could not create the snap-in" when I try to run GPEdit.msc

I got Home Premium, but have since upgraded to Pro.  Now that I have Pro I have an option of the editor of the political group that is put at my disposal which, I guess, is not available in home edition Premium.

Problem solved...

Someone knows how to solve this problem, I searched and tried everything I can find and it still doesn't work.

can someone tell me the conditions required for the event viewer for work so I can check?

I managed to solve this problem in this way on my Windows Server 2008 SP2:

    1. navigate to the following directory:

    For x 64:

    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\CONFIG

    For x 86:

    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG

2 backup 'machine.config' file from somewhere, just in case before you continue.

3 Rename the machine.config file to machine.config.old in the directory above.

Whenever I am trying to change some local security policies I get this message, "MMC could not create the snap" and I can't navigate any further. How can I fix?

    Hello

    ·        Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·        Remember to make changes to the system?

    ·        What is the exact error that you are experiencing?

I suggest you to check in the event viewer for error logs and let us know the error. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

    Open event viewer

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

For the snap to work properly on the system, you should have the .net framework is installed correctly on the system. Check in the installed updates, what version of the .net framework is installed on the system and whether it is installed correctly.

    Hello

Gpedit.msc is not available in Windows 7 Home premium.

It is available in the Enterprise and Ultimate editions of Windows 7 Enterprise.

If you want to disable caching of thumbnails, you can access the registry editor and go to changing the location according to the value

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\DisableThumbnailCache

Set it to 1 to disable the cache

To do: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Hi Jenny.  Try to run the System File Checker.  Click Start and type cmd in the box "search programs and files". Cmd.exe will appear at the top of the Menu. Right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Once the command prompt opens, type "sfc/scannow" without the quotes and press ENTER.  The System File Checker will start. It might take some time to complete so please be patient. Reboot when finished and let us know if this helped.

  • Could not create the work file. Check the temp environment

After I did my Vista SP2 update, the only thing I could do was to reformat the HD. After all, including Office 2007 reloading, Outlook and work has worked well. Again, I went through the updates, Vista and Office SP 2 and now in Outlook and Word I get this error message Outlook (Word) could not create the work file. Check the temp environment

variable. I am alos having other problems in Word. Help, I can't find all the answers!

Follow the steps below at our own risk.  Set a restore point before doing this. Make a mistake in the registry can have bad results

In your registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Cache Database Cache data value must be %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Close all programs. Then in the registry editor, once you get in the folder above, right click on "Cache", make a left-click on "Change", paste in "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files" (without the quotes), on the left, click 'Ok' close the editor of the register. Restart the PC.

    This should solve your problem.

    a. start-> Run-> enter "regedit" and press "Enter" to run the program to change registry variables.

    b. navigate to the folder-> "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Cache"

    c. check the values of variables [for everything in the "User Shell Folders" folder] - all the variable should have values from '% USERPROFILE%\ '. ». Any variable that is not of this starting point is probably damaged. In my case, all variables corrupt has been a correspondent of "Backup_VariableName". Example: my variable "cache" was damaged when there is a variable called 'backup_cache' with the correct values

    d. change the value of variables corrupt to correct the values. Example of change variable value "cache" in "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files" and so on.

    e. close all of Ms Office programs, and turn. The problem should be solved now.

You can try to remove the device uri scheme and the findme bosses and then try to make the migration again. If its success, you can re - fill these easy once tmspe is running.
