  • new smart phone mobile access point causes bsod

I used a Mobile hot spot on my smart phone to access Internet on my laptop successfully for 2 years.  I recently updated my phone (same brand) and now everytime I try to log in after a few seconds I get a blue screen and a memory dump.  I am running Vista.  Can I connect other devices such as my Ipad, but my laptop properly breaks down every time! My husband has a phone just as my old with the hotspot feature and my laptop connects to it without problem, but some affecting somewhere is not compatible with this new hotspot.  I don't know where to look again.  My phone provider says it's something with the OS, not the hotspot. My computer recognizes the wireless network and connect briefly - but when I try to go to a Web site, or after the screen a few seconds - blam - blue.  Error message says to contact my network administrator which is very useful. lol anyone have suggestions?

    Hello

    1. What is the accurate and complete error message you get?
    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    3. What is the brand and model of the phone?

    Method 1
    Step 1:
I suggest to start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

    Startup options (including safe mode)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2: If the problem is solved in safe mode with network then I suggest you perform the clean boot and remove the program that is causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Follow step 7 clean boot KB929135 article to reset the computer in normal mode.

    Method 2
I suggest you to update all the drivers from the manufacturers Web site:

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

  • Mobile access point settings App metro 8.1 Windows Lenovo

I installed the application of parameters of Lenovo and used the Mobile Hotspot feature many Windows 8, but now in Windows 8.1 his party.
As a reason, I read that this feature is built in point 8.1 of WIndows but I noticed that it isn't possible for 3G connections, for Ethernet connections. Would it be possible to bring this feature or I am doing something completely wrong?

    Thank you for your help

We had to disable Lenovo's Mobile Hotspot Windows 8.1 settings, because it is at odds with the built-in functionality of Windows 8.1.  So we had no choice other than to disable our hotspot.

But as you have noticed Windows built-in 8.1 function does not share Ethernet/WiFi and 3G / 4G.  Currently, we evaluate if we can bring back a subset of the functionality of Hotspot Mobile Lenovo, but so far we cannot embark on it.  It is not a situation to just bring something that existed before--it must be redesigned to work properly on Win8.1

  • Mobile access point does not

Well, I'll do that, nice and simple. Since the upgrade to the marshmallow on my Moto X pure on Verizon, I was not able to use my Mobile Hotspot.

When I allow it, it reads just "Turning hot spot..." "it turns on but it never broadcasts the network name/SSID. I called Verizon to confirm that it is active on my account, and they are in no way the block on my particular line. (works fine on my other 3 lines)

I do it for a living, so sometimes I need Internet when I'm on a subject. The only way I've been able to do is by attaching my phone via USB, but I prefer to use the hotspot.

Short of doing a factory reset, someone has suggestions on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you!

    UPDATE:

The factory reset did work. Kind of painting that I had to do to make it work, but at least it works now.

Nothing short of a reset, no.

  • How can I connect to my mobile access point android phones?

I have a LG Vortex with OS android 2.2.1. The desktop of my PC is Windows Vista service pack 2. I have a 3g Mobile Hotspot on my android smartphone and I would like to connect my PC to my wireless phone to be able to benefit from the hotspot and connect to the internet... A reply as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated. If I can't do this my phone can also connect to a VPN. HOW do I set up my PC and phone to connect to each other within a virtual private network?

    Hello

If your Android device is defined as a hot spot and set up to tie the Internet, connect to it with a PC is like any WIFI connection.

Using your Vista wireless capability you're looking for the phone WIFI SSID (wireless name) and connect you to the WIFI phone.

    For Vista, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928429

In regards to the phone, Android configuration, as a hot spot is not so simple, the phone must be rooted and a special 3rd party apk tethering must be installed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Torch 9810 Mobile access point

    Hello

When I bought my 9810 of at & t told me that a new version of the OS 7 will have the built-in AP mobile (finally).

Does anyone know if it is infact coming?

Also, I noticed that a new version is available for almost all businesses except at & t - what is with at & t and the new version? Is he coming?

    Thank you

These two questions are thinkers.  While there's been rumors that RIM would incorporate this feature in an update of the operating system 7, in the true shape of the RIM, they confirm anything until the update is a reality.  It is the same for the AT & T update.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.

  • Xbox Live with Mobile access point

Someone had some luck using Xbox Live with the Mobile Hotspot app on Verizon's network? I was finally able to connect to Live using an open network, such as using WPA2 has never worked. However, it doesn't have any way for me to get a NAT open, so I can't play with most of my friends.

And Yes, before you say anything, I know games by phone is not large. But it is faster than the satellite connection, I'm stuck with otherwise.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello and welcome to the forums;

According to some google actually associated research to be able to connect to Live but not to join friends, looks like the Xbox 360 may need some specific ports forwarded. Unfortunately for now, the Mobile Hotspot app doesn't support port forwarding, and I suspect that's the reason of your difficulties.

I would recommend which suggests adding this feature for our developers to www.palm.com/feedback .

  • Access point mobile blackBerry Smartphones

My service provider is o2. I used the mobile access point to access internet on my i pad when no wifi connection. On a recent RIP to South Africa, I used a vodfone sim card talk. Now, back home with my o2 sim monthly, I can't access a mobile hotspot - get a message that I need to agree to the plan of hotspot mobile vodacom. How can I go back to my normal o2 plan by default?

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) books of forwarding Service

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot-~ 5 minutes
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, you may have to wipe your device and then do the above... sometimes, running on another network corrupts so evil that the foregoing cannot fix your Service books. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!

I have my laptop can't detect a wireless adapter or access point. It shows that the network connection is excellent but I can't always connect to the internet. • Mobile data does not and the name of the Access Point settings are not available

I don't have a mobile data, not even the small up and down arrows or letters beside the sims signal bars appear.

I tried all the troubleshooting settings and different type of network, the airplane mode is off, mobile data are no limit, no power save modes are on. Phone is dual sim so I tried on the two sims and tried to disable the other sim and changing the sim slots, both sims are loaded with a credit of data that works in other android devices. WiFi works fine. Factory reset does not help.

There is that one thing that I can't not try troubleshooting. When I select settings > more > mobile networks > access point names, it says

"Access Point name settings are not available for this user.

Maybe if I could put APN I could get mobile data. How can I do or how I can try to get mobile data to work?

Phone's Xperia M4 Aqua E2363 with build 26.1.B.2.102 thanks if you can help

This text is a bit misleading, which is something that I have forwarded internally as your comments.

If you have no NPP stored the phone displays the text "the name of the Access Point settings are not available for this user" even if you use the owner account and have access to the settings.

Try to download the automatic settings from settings-> more-> Internet settings and see if that helps.

  • The connection between your cable modem, router or access point, and Internet are broken.

What is the average message "the connection between your cable modum, router or access point, and internet are broken" and how to fix it?  We use internet provider time warner.  Can I access online using mini jetpack, but not through time warner.  Is the problem with our internet service or hardware problem?

    Hello Terri,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

This problem may occur because of damaged or incorrect network settings.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
Run the network troubleshooting and check.
    Reference:
Using the troubleshooter from network in Windows 7
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Note: You can run utilities times 'Internet connection' and 'network card'.

If this does not help, use method 2.

    Method 2:
Reset TCP/IP and check the issue.
    Refer to this article:
How to reset TCP/IP using the NetShell utility
    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/299357

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    Thank you

    Q. does the Cisco Catalyst 3850 in charge of indirectly connected access points?
    A. No. switch Cisco Catalyst 3850 will always take the CAPWAP tunnel locally. Pass-through or indirectly connected access point mode is not supported at this time. Note that a model SFP Cisco Catalyst 3850-12 or 24 channels can be a good choice to act as controller of mobility for a stack of switches Cisco Catalyst 3850 ending CAPWAP tunnels locally.
