Mobile dots

Since the upgrade to 14 items, mobile dots are almost impossible to see when trying to make a selection. Is there a way to improve their visibility?

Yes sorry about that. It seems that the pref settings are for windows only. Still having the problem with the selections? Try to zoom in whist photo editing, pressing Cmd and press one or two times. CMD-minus to zoom out.

Otherwise, you will need to reduce your system display settings below the native resolution, using elements in order for the UI to appear larger. Then re - set when you use other applications. But only do it if you can't read the menus.

As Trevor has said, this is a known issue. You can disable your GPU in the preferences, and I think this will help. There is a fix coming - I think that very soon, but I don't know exactly when.

  • Why Mobile dots disappear?

I try to use a selection of light, but when I add a curves layer, the mobile dots disappear. I'll channels and control click on the RGB thumbnail to make the selection, and then save the selection and name. I then hover over the layers panel and click the setting icon (top or bottom of the control panel) to create an adjustment layer. A mask is created, but stop working ants and the selection is not active. I have to right click on the mask that was created and select 'Add selection to mask' to return to the ants. When you add an adjustment layer when there is an active selection of the active selection is added as a layer mask on the adjustment layer and the active selection is deselected.  If you want the ants back CTRL click on the layer mask to adjustment layer. Why do you still need them adjustments is masked by the selection? You can also run levels and curves on the mask to adjust the effect of the selection has,

  • Photoshop CS4 and the mysterious disappearance of mobile dotted...

There are about ten minutes I was pruning the pictures in Photoshop CS4, the marquee tools suddenly lost their mobile dotted.

Now, when I click on the Rectangle tool and drag to select an area, the outline of the selected area is invisible--until I have let go of the mouse when it pops up as a continuous line.

I guess I must have turned off the mobile dotted somehow in error. How can I turn on their return?

A quick search gives to think I can hit CTRL + H or command + H to put the moving dotted lines on and off. None of them work for me.

Other suggestions I've found are "reset" of the tool (how?) - or install a new video card, which should not be a problem in my case. I have installed the updates - what literally happened there, in the workplace.

I use a Mac, OSX 10.8.5 if that makes a difference...

It MUST be a simple solution "click on such and such." Thanks in advance if you know!

I think perhaps that you have encountered a bug of display driver (or the exhaustion of resources).  Try to save your work, quit Photoshop, then restarting him.  Chances are that the ants will return for your picnic baskets.

  • Transformation of the tool selections pen mobile dotted

I have a problem of PS that is confusing to me:

I create a mask for a handbag that has a chain link strap. I used the pen tool to make a selection around the outside. Then, I made a second selection to the inside part of the strap. Then, I went to the paths and load of the selection so that I can turn into a mask.

Outside selection charge very well and is currently part of my mask.

I have still the line tool pen inside my purse strap, but I can't seem to load mobile dotted.

Is there something that I am missing?

    Thank you!

    Ellen

After you have made the paths select the path Selection tool and set the option exclude overlapping shape areas, then the full

paths should take responsibility as a selection.

  • the mobile dotted see, but more "secretly" selected

I have a question about something odd in photoshop that I see.
I am preparing a scanned document and white coloring is for use in a process of animation:
-levels of affect abandon gray paper, stained, areas increase the contrast a little
-J' I select / delete all the white of the digitized design (various methods: channels, magic wand, select color range)
-J' I unselect the outer part (bg area) of the image.
-I make a new layer, expand the selection by 1 pixel.
    So, here's the strange thing:
I look at the moving dotted line closer to the size of the pixel and can see clearly what they're selection / do not select.
I then fill the selection with the color, but I'm ALSO a bit of filling leaking out of my selected area. The character has little hairs on the head, and these have been deactivated according to what was told mobile dotted. But it's like Photoshop has been secretly by selecting pixels without showing me.
I think this, because if I deliberately deselect one of these slight extra hair areas, they do not receive any color when I then use the fill command.
Y at - it a filter or adjustment that affects how the moving dotted line directly and fully show what is selected, with NO SECRETS? This seems like a bug to me.

Mobile dots show where a pixel is selected, less of that there will be no mobile dashed more than 50%.  Areas that are selected (where you can not see the moving dotted line) are so clear grey areas in your picture that you thought you completely cleaned, but some brands have remained.

Try the following - create a threshold adjustment layer and perform the adjustment of threshold at the maximum value (255) - this will appear then all areas which are not 100% white. Once it is completely cleaned, remove your threshold adjustment layer. You can then use your own image to make a selection.

  • Mobile dots? I have a strong line...

Whenever I make a selection with the lasso tool, marquee, etc... literally anything that must show "dotted mobile", I get a continuous black line - hard to read on black, of course.  Someone knows why?  I hope that we prefer somewhere to go back (over 15 years of experience with the) mobile dotted... Thank you!

    Hello!

Yes, please indicate if you are running with OpenGL enabled or disabled.

Have you tried to reset the selection tools (right click on its icon in the options bar, select "reset tool"). If this does not work, hold down Command + Option + shift immediately after you start Photoshop and click Yes at the prompt to reset preferences.

Did you that from the first day, or occurred suddenly... If so, what has changed on your machine at the same time?

  • On the «mobile dotted» newbie question

Let's say I'm trying to remove the background from an image by creating a mask. When I use the magnetic lasso tool or the Quick Selection tool to describe the image, there are a few areas which ran out of the tool. My question is this: once the mobile dotted lines are running, can I select the contour that mobile dotted create and sharpen the edge? Thank you.

Yes, you can add to a current selection using the selection tools

  • What happened to the ability to hide the "mobile dash" (CTRL/CMD (H) in Photoshop?  I can't see the edges of my selection with the mobile dotted lines in the way!

I used Photoshop since version 2.5 when it came to 16 disks.  In all versions I've bought over the years (many) up to CS3, I've always been able to use CTRL + H (Windows) or CMD + H (Mac) to hide the "mobile dash" edge of the selection.  This is extremely useful when doing all sorts of adjustments where the outline of the selection must be considered while "fiddling with the buttons" (so to speak).  Without being able to hide the limits of selection ("mobile dash"), I often have to get a better idea, cancel the selection, get disgusted that the edge is not what I want, then have to cancel, select new, try again... over and over again.   It is a SIMPLE feature, but the lack of it, driving me crazy.  HELP, I tried, but it doesn't have the height of the promise.  If there is a way to hide the dotted moving line, where is the menu item, and what the shortcut?

You can assign Ctrl/Cmd-H to hide the edges of the selection (Edit > keyboard shortcuts) only, if you want to hide everything, but you will be notified if any other function has the shortcut.

Problems of GPU drivers which can cause as well.

If on PC, make sure you visit the web site of the manufacturer of your video card and find their latest display driver for your hardware and operating system.

If this does not help or does not apply, try to change the options in your preferences - dialog Performance, ensuring to quit and restart Photoshop before you test the changes.

  • Gradient to the selected thread dotted mobile

I'm selecting the dark areas by performing a selection of mobile dotted in the tunnels of this photo. I want to draw a gradient through the tunnels brighting them upward. I think I use the gradient tool, but I don't know the workflow to make a brighter side and the other on the other side a little brighter.

    Gradient over selected marching ants.jpg

I'm not sure this is the type of result that you had in mind. This is how how it was done

In the Panel dupe layers was made of the blue channel (which will eventually become the mask), its increased contrast and black and white, that areas have been retouched with black or white in overlay mode. The result was reversed with this result:

In layers, a layer of white has been added and the mask has been applied. A selection based on the mask took place of the first Ark and black? white gradient applied. This was repeated for each arc. The blending mode has been updated the linear density and opacity of the layer to about 10%.

  • Elliptic unit not the moving dotted line showing or let me remove the section

I am trying to use my elliptical tool to cut an oval shape of a photo.  I understand the process and have not had a problem in the past.  I'm on the right layer, but when I drag my tool in form/area I want, it does create a mobile dotted and it will not allow me nothing to do with this area.  Other times, he simply removed the picture completely, leaving a hole in the section I need.  I went so far as reseting my default settings.   Help?

    Hi Patti,

not to apologize to be familiar with Photoshop we are all beginners at some point.

Right-click on the elliptical selection tool and select Reset all tools like that.

Reset preferences can sometimes be difficult. You will know if it works as a dialog box appears when you start Photoshop that prompts you to delete the file. If you do not dialogue try again because it may be a matter of being fast enough.

  • Mini-PEPITe creation Typedef would queue references

Typedef of transfer would be given aid of queues used to be tedious if the typedef has changed and the transfer queue reference is passed between VI by using the controls. The tedious part was last updated all the controls for the ref of the queue because they are not related to the typedef of data transfers of queues. This nugget exaplains how to create a ref to the queue associated with a type definition.

    (1) file a queue to obtain

    (2) create, move, and wire a typedef of the data to be transferred from the queue.

    (3) pop - up on a trip to Quebec City and select 'create a control '.

    (4) find created control and pop-up to select Advanced > customize

    (5) in the editor control using the control palette > "select an order...". "and look for the step #2 typedef

    Note:
    (A) typed should be dropped on the pink boxes

    (B) the mobile dotted around the control of queue Ref confirms you are down in the correct location.

    (6) under the control of queue Ref a def type.

If you look at your hierarchy, you will see that the typedef would queue Ref uses the type of the step #2 def.

    I hope this helps!

    Ben

    * It works but not in LV 7.1 LV 8.6. I don't know in which version the feature was introduced.

    Hello Ben,

I tried to reproduce this in different versions (7.0, 7.1.1 and 8.6).  I get the same experience for all versions. I have the hierarchy window opens to see what is happening at each stage.

I created a typedef would cluster. I created a new VI and used this cluster for the queue to get it.  I see that this group will be used by the VI. Creating the control queue Ref and aperture control editor, I see the control in the hierarchy window. In the window of the hierarchy, I right click on Ref queue control and select Show all the SubVIs and I see that the cluster typedef is used by queue Ref control. What change would be adding step 5 I left out?
