  I think to put the first Pro CS6 and wonder if it will work with the MOD files. My Panasonic camcorder in MOD format recordings.  I noticed that my Media Encoder 5.5 will not work with the MOD file so I don't want to spend $$$ on Premier Pro only to find out it does not tih MOD files either.

  Premiere Pro does not support mod files.

  Some are lucky by changing just the name extension.

  I've been on the site several times especially try to solve crashes with mixed results. My current problem is that the first Elements 8 is not video import correctly from my new camera. I have a JVC GZ-MG750BU that stores the video as. File mod MOD is listed as one of the types of files that can read first Elements 8. It does not matter the files, but they are not displayed in the right format 16 x 9. I have no project defined in 16 x 9 settings but all imported clips are crushed 4 x 3. I can convert the. File MOD to .m4v using the software provided with the camera. These will play in the correct proportions, but that strips the metadata of the files IF a pain to organize them. The raw. MOD play correctly on Windows Media Player.

  It is an old story that still exists in first Elements 9.

  We went over and over this issue in depth at another forum I frequent. And if you want I'll prove links on the subject.

  But here's the story. These MOD Widescreen files have a problem of proportions when they are imported in first items (including the first Elements 9) and many other video editors. My feeling on the matter is:

  a. the MOD Widescreen file header was incorrectly written as well number of video editors do not recognize

  or

  b. the MOD Widescreen file header lacks information written there in the first place... you will see the reports here and here that the information of the file do not reside in the file is mod itself, but in a .me companion file...

  For people missing or not recognized that 16:9 wide screen MOD flag must be set. It is classically using the copy SD utility, which will change the is a mod file extension .mpg (often necessary for MOD) standard and widescreen MOD AND apply the indicator 16:9.

  A friend had videos of a piece of my company did recently (and I need to create DVDs of the performance) and gave them in a file format I have never heard of me... Before I tear up what little hair I have, PE7 includes the MOD files? If not, I guess I'll need to convert them to another format somehow - if so, suggestions?

  MODs are a video format created by JVC Everio camcorders. They are similar to the MPEGs, and some people have been able to make can be changed simply by changing their suffix in MPG.

• MOD files appear as 4:3

  I first Elements 8 and the problem is that when I import a video file MOD which is in 16:9 format (tested in windows media player and 3 others and they play like widescreen) it appears in the 4:3 format, I tried 3 other programs video editing and they are all perfect, they present the true widescreen format that is ready for editing.

  My project profile is set to 16:9 wide screen but no matter I do a premier appears only in 4:3, I do not understand that a MOD file is a MPG file (yes I tried to rename the extension, but who doesn't).

  Any ideas of how I can bring last Adobes software for editing to match one that worked (Roxio VideoWave), who was 2 years old!

  You can change the attributes to interpret the film in pre? It is likely that PrE is not picking up the flag of 16:9 for some reason any.

  Unfortunately, it seems that my iMac is damaged and I am in the middle of the tent back up all my files. The iMac won't boot to the top, and it looks like it might be a problem with the graphics card or the logic board. I can access Mode without failure, but it's pretty unusable due to the fragmented picture and lines on the screen. However, I was able to use the iMac with "Target disk Mode" for use as a hard disk.

  So, as I can not open the Photos app I was wondering how I can recover the files it contains? If I copy my file from the library on another computer I will be able to use / access that previous files I had saved in Photos? My understanding is that the files are stored somewhere in the library? I do not use iCloud!

  Most of the things I want to back up are in the files that I can just slide through a macbook via firewire, but I worry about what the other files I might lose (what I forget). Pictures is the only app I can think where are stored the files differently I use however.

  The best solution is to restore you last backup to another computer, since it is a full disc and not affected by problems with your main computer - this is why you should always have a good current backup

  If for some reason that doesn't work then just drag the photo library to the other computer and save it to the top of there

  Extract the files is a last resort because you lose everything except the original photos - all editing, any organization, etc - your original photos are in the folder of the masters in the photo library

  Disabled the firewall, no change.
  I managed to find a copy of WindowsXPMode_en - us.exe in my backup files and it worked fine. Therefore, I bypassed the problem that I had without a solution.

  It is a problem with the Everio files.

  Once import you them into a project, you must right-click on it, select interpret footage and set manually to display them as wide screen.

  You can see the extensions in the Explorer? Otherwise, in an Explorer window, go to tools > Folder Options > view tab > uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".
