You can only avoid this error by running web process (which normally should give an answer in a few seconds) not that lasts more than 5 minutes to produce a response.

You can probably do the timeout of Apache for a long URL length sooner or later - but that will not solve the problem when a web page response takes several minutes (or even hours) to generate.

The real problem is the real web process itself which takes so long to produce a response. Juggle with the timeout on the web server does the symptom and not the cause.

    You have any filter http commands and orders url server configured? If so, there is an option to truncate long URLS.

    In addition, bugs seem to exist in the http inspection engine in versions after 7.1 (2). Try to disable the http inspection and see if the problem goes away.

  • Someone else's problem with the Web page jump when hovering the links with long URLS in Firefox 4 beta 12?

    When I hover over a link with a URL that is longer than what corresponds to the length of the status bar in Firefox 4 beta 12, the entire page jumps back until I stop hovering over the link. It was so annoying (especially on Google search pages with lots of links, etc.) In fact, I uninstalled Firefox 4 Beta 12 and returned to the release of the Beta 11.

    Is there anything in all: config which would disable the status bar that the URL link seen in, at least?

    Download the extension of evar 4 status bar. It solves this problem and also provides many other options of the bar of the addon. Here is the link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

  • Websense and FWSM 3.1 (1): problems with very long URLS

    Hello

    in a first time the drops followed by performance of a white screen (empty).

    "longurl - truncate" and "cgi - truncate" are configured.

    The server url is configured as follows:

    "vendor websense x.x.x.x timeout 10 Protocol version 4 TCP host 8 connections.

    Requests to this url are identified as being "allowed" on the Websense server.

    Our solution is to exclude the destination address of the filtering.

    Is it possible that this problem is due to the CSCse66244bug?

    Kind regards.

    Volker

    Yes this bug is the cause. You can open a tac case and get "3.1 (3.6)" special download version. This version fixes a lot of our performance issues. Although there are a ton of websense patches a couple specific performance of websense that came out in the last month.

  • applications too long url

    So I have a web application with the root context set to MyProject4.3 - ViewController-context-root. I have mainpage inside this project, so when I want to access it I write http://www.mydomain.com/MyProject4.3-ViewController-context-root/faces/mainpage.jspx

    What should I do to set my mainpage.jspx to run on the url http://www.mydomain.com

    I tried with virtual hosts, but the only thing I've done is change the number of port 7001 to 80 so now I don't have to write www.mydomain.com:7001 :D

    Thanks for your help

    You can try this:

    Write a page in "index.jsp" by default (with the same name) within the root of your Application with the following line:

    * "index.jsp". *

    as soon as a request comes in to index.jsp he will be redirected to the page "faces/mainpage.jspx"... as any file with the name "index.jsp" is so by default treated as homepage...

    You can even set the home page inside the * "web.xml". *

  • How to save a long URL in a form field?

  • URL does not commit to the correct location.

    A long URL used heading to another site. This happens if I use a bookmark or type in the information. If I use safari, the link works.

    Suggestions?

    You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" in the context menu of a history entry ("" history > view history "or" view > sidebar > History "") or via the subject: permissions page.

    Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from that domain you don't want to lose then check that back up these data or make a comment.

    You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.

    It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

  • URL of the Web Service, LV2013 vs LV2012 length limits

    (* CROSS POST: http://lavag.org/topic/18435-web-service-url-length-limits-lv2013-vs-lv2012/ *)

    (* Please answer in this forum.  I scored the other thread for responses here. *)

    A that someone noticed a reduction in the limit on the length of the URL for the Web Services between the versions of LV 2012 and 2013?

    Under LV2012, a RESTful web service seems to accept URLS with lengths at least as long as 4096 characters.  With LV2013, the maximum length of URL seems to be 511 characters for RESTful web services as the project item. Unfortunately for me the project, I have converted just travel on this issue. My goal with posting this request here is my understanding of this limitation before deciding the best way to modify my code.  Certainly using POST instead of GET with a long URL is an option, but again, I am looking to understand the change in limitation before choosing a solution.

    To illustrate, I enclose three projects for the most part identical, demonstrating the issue.  In each case, the project contains a webservice consisting of a single VI, 'ComputeLength', which takes a string as an input parameter and that returns the length of the string.  The three projects are the following.

    1 LV2012 RESTful WebService.

    2 LV2013 RESTful WebService.

    3 LV2013 article project web service.

    The web service contains a single VI.  For the relaxing examples, the web service is started by selecting deploy menu of right-click Build specification.  For the example of project item, the web service is started by selecting start in right click menu position of work/WebService. The use of this example is shown with the following URL:

    (Note that the port is 8080 for both relaxing examples and 8001 for the project web service point if used in debug mode, which is the default value for the statement above.)

    http://localhost: 8080/webservice/computelength? string = 1234567890

    And the output looks like this.

    Workaround.  Apparently from 2013 of LV, there is a default limit of 512 to the length of the URL.  The default limit can be overridden as described below.

    Martin

    He is Brian in the technique of applications for National Instruments. I am following up about the 511 character limit in your Web Service HTTP request after the port number. After some research, I realized that the problem is related to a web site by default, the setting of the server called "LimitUri", which limits the maximum length of a URL. The default is 512 characters long that's why we are seeing this problem.

    There are several ways to modify the URL length limit depending on how you use your web service. If you publish the web service using the Application Web Server can change "C:\Program Files (x 86) \National WebServer\NIWebAppServer.conf" and add "LimitUri 4096" at the end of the file without the quotes.

    If you run the Debug Web server simply by clicking start on the web service, and then change "C:\Program Files (x 86) \National 2013\resource\webserver\niwsdebugserver.conf" and add "LimitUri 4096" at the end of the file without the quotes.

  • Shorten the URL

    I have a URL that is relatively long. It goes like this subdomain.mysite.com/2012/Month/page-name - y at - it a way to reduce the URL which is visible from this length at subdomain.mysite.com/page-name (assuming that the name of the page is not a duplicate of another page name)?

    Note: I use redirects to have a short URL then re - direct to the long URL but I want the short URL to be the one that remains visible. The path of the URL is too long so I can keep the pages organized in a certain way.

    Hey Lynda.

    British Colombia has no technology of integrated system ths URL shortner.

    Nothing wrong with the url there, you have dates, months and files is it that google likes.

  • URL creates the overset text

    I'm pulling on my hair. I use since before InDesign InDesign, and I've never seen this problem before.

    I imported a Word 2007 document in InDesign 5.0. The text flowed includes URLs, and this isn't a problem... until I get to the one who creates the overset text. A block of text with full page, I have two lines of text at the top, and I can't even at the end of the document. The text is in excess to infinity.

    I looked in editor mode. I'm still working with characters hidden power. I deleted all styles of Word. I copied all the text in Notepad and pasted into a new doc DLI. I made sure 'No. Breaks' is disabled. In short, I did everything what I can do.

    An interesting thing is that if I turn the hyphenation in the paragraph, the rest of the URL is displayed, but the rest of the text in excess (additional paragraphs) does not work. I can't have a hyphen in a URL, however. And where is the rest of the overset text?

    Any ideas what's happening? Furthermore, I create a reference page for a thesis, and I have done this very thing much, much time (I'm an editor).

    Save me before I'm completely bald... Thanks for any help!

    Oversets like this can be caused by several things. More common is the text which is unbreakble and too wide for the column, which may be due No Break applied to a long string, no break allowed words and a long Word (or URL) or the use of the breaking between words, or left/right paragraph spaces indented this leave inusfficient space (these can be in styles or integrated in the frame). Some keep Options Association which is impossible to honor is also possible.

    You can insert a discretionary line break or a Space of width zero in your URL for you it break at the time of your choice, but ID typically will break a long URL with a slash or dot.

  • owa_util. REDIRECT_URL: truncated destination url

    So today at work this feature has let me down. The client, a simple application redirection, I just wanted to say something like tinyurl / bit.ly type thing. So I said yes hell, Oracle can do. But alas no! Soon, we noticed that our URL of get truncated to 130 characters.

    I use the latest version of Oracle 11R1 with Apex 3.2 on the latest 64-bit Redhat EL5.

    I googled a bit and found a few people blaming the browser, but this may not be the case because when I call the function without passing a parameter, but just put in a string literal, there worked. Find out what...

    owa_util. REDIRECT_URL ('HTTP://BIG.LONG.COM/GINORMOUS/PATH/WITH/LOTS/OF/STUFF/IN/IT/LIKE/SO/MUCH/STUFF/YOULL/BE/ALL/LIKE/THAT/URL/IS/TOO/LONG/ANYWAY/SO/GO/AWAY/NOOBTARD');

    Which works very well. Review the response headers and you'll see that it's all good. However, try the following code and it fails...

    l_redirect: = 'http://big.long.com/ginormous/path/with/lots/of/stuff/in/it/like/so/much/stuff/youll/be/all/like/that/url/is/too/long/anyway/so/go/away/noobtard ';
    owa_util. REDIRECT_URL (l_redirect);

    Yet once again, the doco let me down. The only explanation I have is that there is a layer of disinfection that past is undocumented and do not like long URLs. I had a problem with the fixing of the headers I posted under application server forums and got no useful answer, so I hope that someone can at least recognize it is a real problem and I'm not just crazy.

    I guess the Base64 encoding can produce characters/bytes that are not legal in URLS, so you should URL-encodes the result?

    utl_url.escape()

    See the documentation of UTL_URL

    Also, I did a little experiment and found that your problem is probably that utl_encode.text_encode actually produces 65 characters lines breaks during the encoding of long chains. Line breaks are definitely not allowed in the URL.

  • How to find and replace a URL in the content

    See the following page:

    http://democraticpartyofgeorgia.org/events/index.cfm?fuseaction=week & SM = 9 & SD = 9 & SY = 2007

    He pushes the margins way because some people type in long URLS in their description of the event (see the meeting September 10). I would like to be able to analyze the event description and replace that long url with a hyperlink where the long url is in the attribute href, but which is related is something link 'see link'. Is it possible to do? I can search for the instance of "" http:// ' of course, but can't seem to find a way to tell where the ends of the link... "

    Look at the ActivateURL udf to
    http://www.cflib.org/UDF.cfm/activateurl

    It's really more a question on a very long word of packaging. The URL is not packing, and it's what drives your margin. You need the column to encapsulate your column is a bit more liquid.

    Use the wrap() function CF.

    You can also go the road CSS, but the best solution I found only works on IE.
