Mode 'Shell' on a MBP in El Cap?
Rather than keeping my MBP17 older but otherwise fully functional"opened the lid cracked on the desktop to enable its features as a Bumblebee by running the program great SpamSieve, I prefer to put it in a beautiful clamshell mode BookArc stand. Open the lid cracked, all works 24/7 great with parameters Energy Saver 'Computer Sleep' = 'Never' and 'Display Sleep' = '3 minutes '. However, when I close the lid the machine goes to sleep in 30 seconds (small white front light right of the machine goes 'off' with the lid open for always "on" immediately after the cover is closed flashing/pulsating after half a minute), even if I'm running SleepLess or Insomniax.
I would like to find a way to close the lid and put my machine in the BookArc, with sleep display but the CPU running to activate SpamSieve Drone 24/7. Can anyone help?
Thank you very much!
Installation program:
El Cap 10.11.2 running on a 17 "MacBook Pro (early 2009).
There is no additional software running on the machine in addition to 9.2 mail and SpamSieve 2.9.23 and two attempts to sleep below solutions.
The only external cable connected to the computer is the power cable, nothing else.
Software solutions:
- 2.9 white
- Insomniax 2.1.8
I have a MBP 15 "Early 2011. I plugged in a USB mouse, set the computer sleep = never, display sleep = 3 minutes.
Closed the lid of the computer. The edge light vibrates slowly "Sleep Mode". But I then goto my iMac and connect
Via screen share and call iTunes to see if she wakes up, it's and audio through speakers MBP plays.
It seems to continue to work in Clamshell mode even after disconnecting the mouse, as long as the cover is closed.

I just confirmed that whenever I try to listen to music from my MacBook Pro (iTunes), which is connected to my wireless network using the 5 GHz mode (the channel width is Auto, channel: Auto (DFS)) to a couple Airport Express cubes are connected via the 2.4 GHz WiFi (channel width: Auto, channel: 10) the E4200 router restarts. When I put the MBP for use the 2.4 GHz I can listen to music without causing the E4200 to restart. The E4200 is the firmware 1.0.03 running.
Connect to the web interface of the router. Under "application and gaming tab", click the sub-tab "QoS" and deselect "support WMM.

Hi all
Can one explain what "shell mode? which is one of the modes of utilities beectl!
Thank you
Dha_SuhExactly.
Because the mode shell is interactive (with the user), it is less strict security. In addition, it supports some interesting features like AutoComplete (on the commands you type).

Caps lock error & keyboard - Satellite L50-A-1F2
Hello world!
Can someone help me solve these problems with the SHIFT key?
* 1st problem: *.
The led on the key caps in my Toshiba Satellite L50-A-1F2 is always on.* 2nd problem: *.
I did some tests using MS Word:
When caps lock shift is not active, I can write without problem.
When shift caps lock is enabled, I have problems with some keys (all in the same "column"): 3, D, E, C.
When I press on:
3: I get the symbol ' - '.
D: the cursor moves to the line below
E: I get the symbols TM; Sometimes it activates Intel graphics deal
C: the cursor moves to the beginning of the first line.Thank you in advance for help you!
Usually the CAPS LOCK key can be turned on and off by pressing the same button once more.
If this isn't possible, I'm afraid that this could be a hardware problem m.But new Toshiba notebook s supports the special feature called the special function mode key.
This mode allows you to use the FN keys without pressing the FN key extra.I put t know if this mode may affect the functionality of the CAPS LOCK, but its worth a check.
However, I would recommend you to connect external keyboard and check if the same problems of CAPS LOCK would appear. In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, the problem of LOCKING of UPPER is related to malfunction internal keyboard.

Trying to resolve the wifi problems slow speed. Everyone has problems with the last update of the firmware?
Wired Speedtest:

Wireless settings:

5 GHz - compatible
Smart Connect - enabled

Troubleshooting suggestions?
Indeed, my router has been replaced, however, this does not solve the problem. A beta firmware has finally solved the problem.

Non-functional processor DV7 - what a graphic problem?
Hi all
Edit: I think that it maybe the wrong section for this so I she published more than crash & block but since I saw some views on this one, did not delete in case someone was following this so leave it here for now. Administrators can remove if necessary.
I have a product number, dv7-4273us: XZ295UA #ABA. Bought July 11 or 15th, 2011.
Current problem:
Saturday, August 16, 2014, I visited a friend to download far cry 1, 2, 3 and the DLC via steam. We left my computer download and went out. On our return 2 hours later, when I tried to make out the hibernation mode, it does not start and the caps lock light kept flashes once, indicating a CPU failure according to the error code to connect to this site.
Performed troubleshooting:
I checked the plug and discovered that the taken light was red, so I went taking points, and the 2nd which shine white.
Connected to an external monitor no dice.
noticed that the light on the drive on the side right hand turns red, so tried the hard reset - removed the battery and tried to start it with just the connected plug, he came but it's same - caps lock flashes indicating once cpu failure.
Previous problems:
So far, the only problem I had with the computer was that full screen, sometimes the light blue light and I would not be impossible to access anything. I would be put to sleep to get it out or restart.
My Questions:
(1) could download have hurt the CPU?
1 (b) if I ran out of har of disk space to download making the failure of the cpu?
(2) the graphic problem I had known would be the cause of the failure of the cpu?
2B) if I replace the map move the cpu would resume the feature?
(3) is anyway to get the laptop working again without having to buy a new processor?
(4) I have used my computer plugged into a surge protector, but when I visited my friend was firectly plugged into the wall, he suggested that the computer overheating. Is it correct?
4 (b) but do not tell the flashes, could something else have been damaged?
(5) it is just better to buy a new computer and forget fixing it? I can't afford it, but I'll ask just in case.
Thank you in advance for your help, much appreciated!
Note: I'm not in the United States, I'm in Barbados, so I do not have access to online services like amazon - they often don't ship here, and I won't be able to get my computer to any physical location in the United States for repair.
Hello
You should be able to order a replacement CPU from the laptop. This would occur in the maintenance and Service guide (which is in my previous post). It can be a stand-alone item however, some laptops, it's part of the system board replacement.
I hope you're able to help.

Hello
The SFP MFELX1 will be EoS in May.
The replacement is the MGBLX1. It's on fiber gigabit single-mode and not 100 Mbps FX on multimode fiber.
Do you need a way of packaging of cable to work?
GLC-FE-100-FX = is supported of the SMB switches?
The MFELX1 supports 100BASE-FX on up to 2 km.
Please refer to the EoS:
Thank you!
GLC-FE-100FX should work. We have tested other GLC modules in small business switches and not had any problems with them. That said, you should still be able to order the MFELX1.

Custom attribute in the patch ACS4.2 17
I have an optional custom attribute in my ACS group to pass on ACE config mode: shell: Admin * Admin by default-field
Privilege level 15 is also part of the configuration of the exec.
Recently I applied the patch 17 on ACS 4.2 (0) build 124. Since then I can not connect with the level of privilege 15 in IOS routers/switches.
Looks like IOS box considers this attribute custom as a mandatory now.

Unfortunalety I don't have newspapers/debug of the period before the update, when everything was ok.
I guess that the problem is somewhere in this argument that goes from the ACS to the customer:

Can someone tell me how this argument with the option setting should look like?
Maybe * shell: Admin * Admin by default-field?
Petr
Hi Peter,
You are using in a default.
CSCth75577 ACS incorrectly sends optional custom attributes GANYMEDE +.
Symptom:
Authorization GANYMEDE + IOS fails if client attributes (even as an option) are configured on the ACS user group. The connection will work, but the attributes passed will be not honored.
Conditions:
ACS 4.2.0.124 patch 16
ACS 4.2.1.15 patch 2
Workaround solution:
Return to a previous fix ACS.
This problem has been fixed in
ACS 4.2.1.15 patch 3 or later.
Upgrade of the ACS to 4.2.1.15 and apply the latest patch 10.

Problem with new wireless n dv7tqu
I live in the USA and I have a brand new HP Pavilion dv7tqe running Win 7 64 bit with Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230 and Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport adapters. My Netgear router is dual band.
I can connect both 802.11 g and 802.11n strips very well with a laptop more old.
My new HP (described above) does not see the 802.11n band. I installed softawre of network and he does not see 802.11n connection. Similar software on the laptop old shows 802.11n connection.
What should I do to be able to connect to the 802.11n band with my dv7tqe?
Thank you in advance for your help!
I found a solution to the problem of restoring the default settings on my Netgear WNDR3300 router and changing a setting.
Under "Wireless settings", I changed the MODE of "up to Mbps to GHz. This changed the 11N CHANNEL setting to ' 03 / 2,422 Ghz» And he in dimmed my 11G SSID NAME. Subsequently, my new HP laptop could connect to the network N - and all the other 802.11n devices could also.
I lost the G network on my router, that's why I call it a 'solution '. I would like to than older laptops to be able to connect to my network and so I'll continue to play with the settings. I'm happy right now that my new laptop is correct!
BTW, I contacted HP Support before making the above changes and their advice has been...
1 - check the specific registry entries and change them if they existed. [They did not exist].
2nd - update of the BIOS and the wireless network card drivers. [They were up-to-date.].
3 - replace the wireless adapter. [Do not].
A clarification about my original posting...
My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 Quad Edition, product # A5F92AV (bought in June 2012).
See you soon!

Flash player crashes when you access my webcam
Hello
I use about 20 pills of HP Elitepad 900 different G1 (all the 32 bit OSes). On each of them, at the signing in MegaMeeting and in being invited to access the webcam, IE not responding. When I try the same thing in Firefox, it shows that Flash Player has encountered an error and it to reload the page, and then quickly encounter the same error.
I have confirmed that I have the flash player more up-to-date, tried to uninstall and reinstall, update my drivers and confirmed on another site based on (Chatroulette) than the error occrus Flash, as well as confirmed that enforcement camera (Windows 8.0) and Skype both work fine with the web cam.
At this point, I'm at a loss because apart from that, there is no problem using flash for the meeting, just that they cannot participate with voice and video, and is the point of the meetings.
Posted below are the DXDIAG files as well as the version of flash that I installed, and I am looking for assistance in confirming what I can do to get this working.
Thank you all very much!

Finally found the problem, but unfortunately I do not know if this will help in your case, since you are using a 3rd party software. However, you can contact the developer with this information and I hope that they can send you a patch.
The default size of the object Camera in Flash is 160 x 120, but this resolution appears to be too low for the Intel driver. In addition, if the Width property is less than the Height (portrait mode) property, it also seems to cause the crash.
In our application, we have just resized the object camera at 640 x 400, and it solved our problem.
Before you call the object Camera, a simple line of code can be added:
Camera.setMode(640x400,15,true);
and he solved the problem on the Dell coming 8 Pro and Acer W4.
I hope this helps solve your problem!

On my MBP, 2011, in recovery mode menu bar offers only a single - switch language option. How do you get Terminal? Missing something?
You will need to choose your language first.
From there on, the Terminal will be on the menu drop-down utilities > Terminal

Owner MBP - audit 'stealth mode '.
Under Firewall of MBP, I checked "automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections. In addition, "block all incoming connections", and "Enable stealth mode" is unchecked. Should I check "Activate the stealth mode" and if so, how will that affect software updates?
It is a comment on why you might, or might not, to use the firewall Applicationintegrated.
The firewall is blocking incoming network traffic, regardless of the origin, on a per-application basis. By default it is off, and when activated, allows digitally signed by Apple and that applications applications, listening on the network. It does not block outbound traffic, it can distinguish different incoming traffic sources, nor it filters content traffic.
No matter how it is configured, the firewall is not, as some imagine, a malware or privacy filter. If that's what you expect it to do, we forget. All it will do is bombard you with unnecessary alerts.
Consider scenarios in which you might expect the firewall to be useful.
1. you turn on file sharing, and you allow the guest access to some records. This means that you want people on your local network, but not foreigners, to be able to access these folders without having to enter a password. In the default configuration, the firewall will allow that to happen. The router prevents foreigners access to actions, if the firewall application is activated or not. But if your laptop and connect to an untrusted network as a public access point, the firewall will still allow access to anyone, that is not what you want. It does not protect you in this scenario.
2 install. you a Trojan horse that steals your data and download on a remote server without knowing it. The firewall, no matter how it is configured, does not block outgoing traffic. It does nothing to protect against this threat.
3. a more likely scenario: the web browser or the router is compromised by an attacker. The attack redirects all web traffic to a fake server. The firewall does not protect against this threat.
4. you use a public web server. Your router passes requests for TCP connection on port 80 on your Mac, and connections are accepted by the built-in web server, which is work together by Apple. The firewall application, always configured as described above, will do this. An attacker hacks into the system and tries to divert port 80 and to replace the web server integrated with that determines itself. The good news is that the firewall will protect you; It blocks incoming connections on the malicious server and notifies you. But the bad news is that you have been rooted. Forward who can do these things can just as easily turn off the firewall, in which case it does not protect you after all.
5. you spin a Minecraft server on the local network. It listens on a high-numbered port. You, as an administrator, have reconfigured the firewall to pass this traffic. A hacker can connect to a standard account on the server. It figures how crash Minecraft, or he's waiting just as leave you it, and it then binds his, malicious, Minecraft server to the same port. The firewall will block its server, and because he is not a Director, he cannot do something. In this scenario, the security is genuine.
6. here's a more realistic scenario in which you might be right to turn on the firewall. Your MacBook has the share of active services. You want to have these services available to others on a home network or desktop. When you are on these networks, the firewall should be turned off. When you move to an untrusted network, you can disable all services, or turn on the firewall with a default configuration to block. Blocking is easier: a simple click instead of several.
