  I have problems with my A30-514. Even when the power supply is connected and the notetop seems to be running of AC power, the battery discharging itself and finally the power level is so low that the laptop stops.

  It seems that the laptop is controlled by battery power not HQ. I currently use the laptop without the battery inserted - i.e. on AC only, and it is absolutely perfect.

  I'm no longer under warranty so please don't suggest just going to a service partner!

  Do I need a new battery? Or is it a hardware fault?

  I have a similar problem with my A30-141. I found through experimentation that this situation arises because of a temporary interruption of power to the adapter. In my case, the interruption is caused by a loose fitting located at the rear of the laptop taken.

  The effect is to cause the power system switch to the battery, even if the network is connected (and shows the LED at the front of the laptop). The only way I can fix it is to reboot the laptop.

  I have now set the adapter cord to the back of the laptop to prevent any movement of the power supply in its decision-making.

  I use a 80 GB hard drive in my SA30 and I suspect it would probably work with a 100 GB drive. However, as portable hard drives tend to suffer ruptures busiest I think their close office 80 GB is perfectly o.k. for me. I tend to have 25-30 GB used with the rest of the temporary files during editing of the videos etc. The hard drive in the A30 is usually under the optical drive to remove all first in order to access the hard drive.

  Your A30 can be upgraded to a maximum of 2 GB of RAM in two slots. Currently, you will have 2 X 128 MB or 2 X 256 MB modules of RAM installed. When I run certain applications, such as WinDVD Creator and more recently, the online game Lineage 2 and a few others, my pc just stops completely, after an increase of "noise" coming from the ventilation. So I think it's maybe an overheating problem? Unfortunetaly, due to another person, this pc has been used on TWO napkins that were under it, and I think that could have caused this problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  Should I open up the pc and clean vents and heatsink? Or do I really have to take it to the store so that they can do something? And how to open the pc to access the fan? Am I supposed to get out the whole half of the pc?

  It is very easy to clean the heatsink on your A30. On the bottom of the adjacent unit at the entrance to two air grids is a small cover attached by two screws 'star '.
  Simply remove this cover and the heat sink is more visible.

  The heat sink is attached with four screws. Cancel them and the heat sink can be raised as a result. do NOT remove the heat, scatter the dough.

  Dust and debris can then be removed.

  Re-assemble the heat sink and replace the access cover.

  Work done and it made a significant difference to the ventilation of you A30.

  I do a few experiments. I've set up a table with 3 columns: digit decimal, binary and the difference in length between the two. Then, I wrote a small anonymous PL/SQL block with a single loop.
