  My laptop has recently stopped playing all DVD and CD - RW - ordinary CD work fine, but when I try to play a DVD or a CD - RW it whirs for a while, then I get the message "Windows cannot read this disk. The disc may be damaged, or it could be in a form that is not compatible with Windows.

  I use a Satellite 1800-412, Windows XP (home edition) Service Pack 2, and the DVD drive is a SD-C2502.

  I read on some sites that doesn't update the firmware solves this problem.
  I recommend you to remove the drive from Device Manager.

  I have a 1800-412 Satellite which becomes very slow so I intend to upgrade the memory. I've been hunting around a few different sites to see what I can buy, and there seem to be differing opinions whose memory actually fits my laptop:

  Site Web of Kingston said that I'm going to need their KTT-SO100/256
  .. .but another site suggested the KTT-S0815/256

  Both websites claim that this is the chip that works.

  I have also looked on the Toshiba site and found the part PA3069U - 1 M 25 number is the one I'm looking for, but the chips I found for sale online recommended for my laptop have different numbers for Toshiba...

  Help! I'm confused!
  What exactly should I buy? There are actually several different chips that work or are some of these sites try to sell me a bad?

  I found the information that your device can handle with 1 024 MB max memory compatible Module is PC100 256 MB (PA3069U - 1 M 25). This module has been tested and it will be recognized correctly.

  I recommend you to use the right and tested a title less expensive but maybe not tested one.

  Hi all - I've got w530 2436-CTO that probably needs a new main Board. He post, and when the memory is removed it gives a beep code manual says is the module DIMM or system board. I believe that my card system FRU is 04 x 1505, but I can't find anywhere to buy this part. How can I understand that other replaceable units on site are compatible? For example, I see lots of places selling 04 x 1547.

  A Lenovo doc describes 04 x 1505 as PLN Q1 AMTC-y y - TPM and the 04 x 1547 as PL Q3 W8 nAMTyTPM.

  My T61p 6457-CTO unbootable - the usual lights, fan and hard drive start briefly and go out again. What I read in this forum, it is a fairly common problem and indicates that the system or GPU card failed. Remove the different units (dvd player, hard drive, wireless card, modem) did not help, remove the barrette dimm (1 x 2 GB) threw the error beeps expected (2 x 3 + 1 short beeps).

  Unfortunately, the parts search doesn't seem to work for me, but as it has graphics Quadro FX570 and a Merom processeor, I guess the jury is THAT RUF should be 42W7653. These seem a little hard to find, but I was able to get a 42W7652 (with NVS140 graphics) for a reasonable price and I don't care about graphics power.

  My question: can I just replace the 42W7653 for a 42W7652 or is there any incompatibilities with other parts? The screen is a 1680 x 1050 unit, it will work with a NVS140?

• The display is very slow on the Satellite 1800 412

  I installed Windows XP Professional (do not use the Toshiba installation disc) and since then, the display is very slow refreshing when scrolling. It takes about 30 seconds to scroll one page down in Word for example. I tried to install the latest display driver but the installation block. Installing the driver in safe mode works but the computer hangs at startup and I needed to uninstall the driver. The laptop now seems to use a standard VGA driver of XP.

  I have a 1800-412 2 years old (out of warranty) and now big problems with the display when I'm working on it:
  Evry time I turn on the laptop, the screen flashes and nothing shows up except when I press the little button at the top right (this one is pulled down when I close the screen). Then the screen lights up for 5 or 10 seconds and new Moul. In fact, I can see the screen, but it seems that there is no brightness... It is very very bland out (?)...
  This problem seems to appear less often when I work only with battery full power, but is still there.
  I updated the bios 2-10 and updated display driver too.
  But nothing changes.
  Question: is this battery problem screen problem, bios issue...

  While upgrading memeory I broke the ZIF connector for the power button, now having issues getting the mobile turn on and stay on.  Looking for a motherboard model and the reference number. Board of Directors is marked as ZS051 THE-A996P, Rev 4.0.  When searhcing this Board produces a list of part numbers, a way to make sure that it is what I want before I buy?

• X61T works wireless after the replacement of the Board of Directors?

  I have a lenovo X61T, who recently had a Board of Directors system of, after a repair by a local warranty service workshop (CompuCom), we found that the wireless (and fingerprints, scanner...) were not working.

  It seems that LED to my bluetooth on the monitor lights up and works fine, I can be able to snap the cycle as the combo FN + F5, but whenever I try to turn on the Wifi, it does not. I keep on pressing power, and he never replies.
