• How to use the r6100 as a router connected to a modem/router C3700

  Hello - I have a meg Xfinity 150 per second internet package. I bought a router modem C3700 combo and used for a few months. We have more than 20 devices connected to it, I wanted a simultaneous dual band router and bought the r6100. The current configuration is as follows - the coaxil cable enters into the modem or the c3700. A CAT6 ethernet cable goes from the c3700 to port internet r6100.

  No other configuration don't get made in two packages of devices. All settings are stock except for the SSID and password and the password Netgenie has also changed.

  These two SSID is named identical to support dual-band simultaneously. Everything works, but I wonder if it's the safest way to use these two features of netgear. I test in the 90's low extent of the MB per second. We pay for the 150 that makes me think that something is not the optimum installation program. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  Not your R6100 as a point of access if you configured so that might explain why it does not work when you do the c3700 a modem only.

  I bought the cable Modem Wifi Netgear N300. Except for the external hard drive Seagate (backup Seagate more 5 TB desktop external hard drive with 200 GB of Cloud Storage & Mobile Device backup USB 3.0 (STDT5000100)), all my devices connect to it without problem. However:

  1.) when I have the hood upwards the Seagate external hard drive, the genius of Netgear he sees, but says that the drive has 0 bytes available.

  (2.) that's why I can't back up by using the backup program WIndows 10 but

  (3.) I can "manually" drag files from my PC to the Seagate HD (the PC is connected to the modem router cable via wifi.)

  4.) when I connect the Seagate HD with a USB cable to the computer, the backup works.

  It's frustrating because I want to use the Seagate HD as a backup for some of my devices and I want the devices to send their data or the Netgear router.

  Can someone help me? It seems important that Netgear genius sees the HD Seagate but think it has no place.

  I recently had to change a modem Motorola Surfboard, router Netgear (both at least 5 years). The new modem/router combo is a C3700 Docsis 3.0. My printer HP Photosmart Plus B209a model is no longer connects to the wireless network.  I tried the push button and pin. I get a WPS, unable to connect. When I print the network settings, my network is listed but the printer shows offline with no active conection. Firmware is EIL1FNO926AR and stands as the last revision of the printer. Wireless 802.11 under the mac address is given, and status is offline.  In addition, the printer and modem/router are about 3 feet apart on the same desktop.

  Any ideas for what to do to get my printer back online or is not compatible with the new modem/router?

  I upgraded a Netgear WNDR4300 wireless router to the modem/router combination C7000. The old router never caused any problems with the connection of wireless devices, but this new C7000 is frankly a pain!

  I agree with Apple TV network and the password is accepted, but no matter what I do the router never sees the Apple TV as a connected wireless device!

  Yet once, it worked flawlessly on the old Netgear router.

  The other two devices wireless I have connected the two had WPS (a printer and a device), but the Apple TV does not support this so I get the password manually but it simply refuses to work!

  I was wasting hours on this today.

  I'm a software engineer so I understand this and frankly there is no earthly reason, I can see why he just refuses to work.

  Well, now I feel like a fool. I unplugged the old router and thought that I had turned it off, then I drop it on the floor and began setting up the new router. I wanted to keep the same network name so I changed it and set the password accordingly.

  It's when I couldn't connect the Apple TV. And after all that, I look down the OLD router and to somehow do NOT turn it off as I thought I did.

  If the network name being the same, my Apple TV connected to the OLD router instead of the new.

  Argh, what a rookie mistake!

  Who needs to put the router in Bridge mode. The router would then become transparent. Unit acts as a modem only. If you don't know how, ask your ISP.

  I understand that since hang your new router Netgear your HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One-C410a printer fails to reconnect automatically to your network every morning that you unplug all devices power every night. However, your printer has been able to automatically reconnect to your original Linksys router every day.  Because your printer works well, once the wifi installation is run, we know that the wireless in your printer card works properly. I think that this problem is due to a conflict with the new Netgear router setting. I will get you a few steps below to solve this problem for you.

  Step 1: connectivity:

  When you connect all your devices in the morning, make sure that you plug your router first. Once the router is on and functioning, your printer in.   Make sure that your router is set to a fixed channel wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto '.  Try each of the channels one at a time.  Make sure they are spaced at least 5 feet.

  OK, thanks for the clarification.  We will do this:

  1 restart the modem/router by pulling its plug momentarily.

  2. on the front of the printer: Setup (wrench) > network > Restore Defaults.

  3. in the same network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard.  Follow the instructions.

  Once the printer is connected to the network, remove and re-add the printer that I described above.

  Not trying to be cute here, but if the products work correctly, the results will be the same.

  However... speed could be one thing and another reliability.  Setting PPPoE Apple are old and is not known for their reliability.  As you know, in theory, you want the device that provides identification of connection information to connect directly to the Internet service.  This would mean that have C1100T PPPoE c would probably be a better way to do things, reliability wise.

  A note of caution here... the support document you are referencing... Wi - Fi base stations: install and configure a roaming network (802.11 a/b/g/n)... use the examples that are long outdated does not follow with the versions present on a Mac AirPort Utility or iPhone/iPad.

  Normally, you don't want two devices on the same network as the two try to act as routers to the same network. Which will produce conflicts of IP addresses... which can possibly be addressed... and a Double NAT problem, which cannot.
