  I created a build specification for my project, but the tabs for the information in the dialog box, shortcuts and additional installers are missing.  See attached screenshot. How can I make it appear?

  You will create two specifications: (1) build the exe. (2) create an installer for the exe. One you have both in your project, you can do a "build together" when right-clicking on the header section of specifications of generation.

• Weird error for a build specification

  I deleted some files in my project, and all of a sudden my generation specifications no longer work:

  Choose "build together" ' Building specifications ' apparently still works. I tried to delete all the project files and make a new project, but something is always wrong. Clues?

  OK, I threw all the files, make a new directory, rebuilt, and now it works. Don't know what was wrong.

• problems with labview 2013 build specification

  I have a few screws of LV2010 I want to use to create an application to run with RTE2013. I have LV2013 on my computer.

  Without a massive compilation of the LV2010 screws, the element of selection of source files in the build specification has no project file to choose and it won't allow me to go looking for.

  Any ideas why this happens?

  Right, you must create a project and put in all of the screws to be included in the compilation - including one that is the top-level VI. Once this is done, you can save the project, just not to re-record the EIS.

  Now you should be able to define your spec to build according to normal.

• 'Get VI build specification' works if I run in a VI. However, if I build this VI in an executable it no longer works.

  When I use the minor correction, 'get build specification VI' in a VI it works as expected to provide the main, and what ever the project version number it is pointing to, however, when I buuild as VI in an exicutible and run this exicutable it always returns 0 for all fields.

  Does anyone know why he would do this?

  I think that it does not work in an executable file is because it's not supposed to run in an executable file.  It is designed to extract the specification of the Build of the project (.lvproj) file, which is generally not available at run time.

  However, there is another function, FileVersionInfo (found in the hidden gems that you can find in the LabVIEW tools network using VIPM).  When you generate an executable file, the Version information is placed here where Microsoft wants it to be saved, and the LabVIEW function will retrieve it for you, as well as the name of the program executable.  Here is an excerpt from my program and the utility Version:

• Build specification does include all of the files for my VI.

  As part of a semester project, I have to build a VI to control a filtration unit. The VI works fine on my computer, but I control the next month and I need to send files to a person on the University. The problem is that even if I use the function 'Build Specification' (I use the 2011 LabView professional development system), the files are still missing when the program is started on the new computer. A warning in the project file indicates that the files are missing or removed to another location. A file named pid.lib is not found, and it seems that the path of each file is the same on my computer, but does not change the specification of build that adjust the new computer.

  I am a newbe LabView and I have searced this forum and help files to try to solve this problem by myself, but now my time is more limited. Can someone help me with this?

  Hi Henrik

  You can see what versions of LabVIEW and toolboxes installed in measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). If you MAX Open and select 'my system'--> 'software in the menu of left, then you can see all installed software.

  

  If you click on the installation of LabVIEW. In this case, LabVIEW 2011, you can see all the installed tool boxes.

  

  When you run a LabVIEW project / application on another PC, LabVIEW will use a priority defined in the place where to load the files to. This is specified in Tools--> Options-->--> VI search path Path.

  For LabVIEW will be frist was trying to find the VI/VI library in your project folder and if the VI is not located there it will look like for her as a function of generation in vilib, userlib or LabVIEW instrlib files. These files contains VI and VI installed with LabVIEW libraries.

  In this case, as mentioned above you correctly do not have the same toolboxes installed on both machines. This is why the PID.lib is not found in the vilib folder as it should be, and so you get the error. You can check by looking at the installed modules, as mentioned above.

• Build specifications - option REMAINS unavailable

  I'm unable to create a RESTful web service because the option is not available in my version of LabVIEW.  I followed this tutorial: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/lvhowto/build_web_service/ (see step 6 of creating a Web Service project and the Build specification).

  I was using the wrong tutorial.

• build specifications have disappeared in the 2012 LabVIEW Project Explorer

  I have LabVIEW 2012 Professional Edition and I checked in to National Instruments License Manager that the professional development system, and the Application Builder are both "green".

  I noticed that when I open an existing project or create a new project, the construction specifications section disappeared!

  No idea what would cause this to disappear?

  In the Project Explorer, try looking in the framework project--> filters see and make sure that the construction specifications is checked. Here is a link to a knowledge base article OR that might be useful:

• Excel OPM project not to build specific WSDL

  I create a new project in OPM 10.4.5 using an Excel spreadsheet to define all attributes and the conclusions.

  I just noticed after the creation and deployment of Tomcat or Weblogic Server determinations tilt the spacific WSDL for my project, only the generic WSDL is available.

  I read another post archived (error during generation specific wsdl) that "all level attribute and the basic objective and must have a public name", would y project compatible with the server of determinations, the next thing I did was turn on 'Check compatibility determinations Server' in the OPM Options window and my project is NOT compatible with the server of determinations.

  I guess my question is, how can I make my project compatible with DS given that all my rules, attributes, conditions and conclusions are contained in an Excel worksheet.

  Should be fine to just go ahead and declare each of the attributes in the properties file, I think.

  Adding them in the properties file - you can give each his public name.

  If you have many attributes, it'll be a little pain - but at least you'll be able to get the specific wsdl.

  If you don't want to bother creating each attribute one by one, then I wonder if it would be possible to simply create the properties file, then right-click inside and click on "generate public names.  I have not tested which, but it might help a go.

• Is it possible to include the file lvprog in a source distribution build specification

  It seems to me that a full source distribution includes the associated project files but I don't see that it is possible to do. I missing something or do I just have to continue to, outside of LabVIEW, high zip folder that contains everything?

  I think you are talking about the *.lvproj (not *.lvprog).

  No, it is not possible. I think it was possible in the past (LV2009 and earlier versions) and I already complained that elsewhere long ago.

  I solved the problem by uninstalling all National Instruments software and reinstalled in the following order:

  After that, I was able to update the urgent fix f1 for 2015 of LabVIEW FPGA Xilinx tools in service OR Update Manager and the problems have been fixed.

• specification of the building does not start

  I am trying to build a standalone application that would start when PSC 2210 controller is started.

  In my project, I use specification to build everything first build specification. I put it in the startup. Then I deploy the specification and some libraries which include variable necessary shared. Without errors or warnings are displayed. Then I start my PCP to see if something happens. I have a small LCD screen connected to the controller of the PSC which should show a text that the application starts. LCD screen shows no traces of event. But I still think that there is something with the controller, because I can not connect to the controller unless it is in a position NO App.

  If I then set controller on the position of the No. App and start the vi of the project under the CFP-2210, application start, LCD shows everything is OK. But there is now an error message while deploying "LabView: the startup application configured to start was absent at the start of the RT target."

  Can anyone tell what is missing and where? I know that I added vi wanted to start in the startup list screws in my real application of time when generating specification properties.

  I'm using Labview RT 8.5.1 on PC and PSC 2210.

  I solved the problem. The problem was the path of the startup.rtexe file. RTTarget.ApplicationPath=/C/ni-rt/startup/startup.rtexe should be RTTarget.ApplicationPath=/ni-rt/startup/startup.rtexe and RTTarget.VIPath=/c/ni-rt/startup should be RTTarget.VIPath=/ni-rt/startup.

  This path should not have the / c forwards. It's a little weird for me because it is defined like this as a default value. I mean Build specification which defines as target path when opening, and all other files and folders still exist in the right places. Know not working very well, but I do not know if all the real things are saved in the right places.

• How to get property values to build a specification?

  My Build 2013 LabVIEW specification automatically includes some HTML help to target data folder files. This is so because the HTML Help files are configured in the VI Documentation of some of my voluntary initiatives.

  But I would not not for this reason in my application built HTML Help files. To do this, I'll run a VI in the generation of Post process that removes HTML files. So I have to get the destination of my Build specification programmaticaly path.

  Does anyone know, if this is possible? Thank you in advance.

  When you create a VI after generation you have all the information entering the VI. What is the problem with this information?

  If you don't know how to create a post-build VI, look at the page actions of generation after in the configuration settings.

• LV2010 build request: error 1498 for LV class default Value.vi

  Hmmm you could try doing a repair of LabVIEW. Go to start > Control Panel > add and remove programs > National Instruments > modify (repair) LabVIEW. This will go through and make sure it has the correct paths to the request of the manufacturer. Let me know if it works
