Module NI 9225

Hello!

I work through the module nor 9225. Can I use this method (photo or 9205) for the acquisition of data. This method I use when I I was working with module 9025.

Is there any difference between the use of modules of 9205 or 9225 data acquisition? I know that neither 9225 is sigma-delta module.

Kind regards

Well, I would use the advantage of parallelism nativ you to the FPGA and sepparte in the two individual loops.

You can then use Global Variables to pass data of loop to another where you transfer the data to the host using DMA FIFOs.

  • cDAQ HAVE task using external clock

Hi, I am trying to use a clock signal on a line of PFI in order to generate a clock, but at a lower rate, for a task to HAVE.  I run into many issues that I can't explain.

I have a cDAQ-9172 with an entrance module analog (9225) in the Groove 3 and a digital input module (9411 - 2 MHz DI) into the slot 6 (where the PFI lines are accessible).  I want to use an external signal on et0/PFI0 to act as the clock for an analog input on the 9225 task.  This signal comes from the cDAQ anothr chassis and is too fast for the task to HAVE it, so I intend to use the time base entrance and the divider to clock (as shown on page 31 of the cDAQ-9172 manual).  See picture attached for a graphical representation of my problem.

If I have the wiring from the signal "/ cDAQ2Mod6/PFI0" in the DAQmx timing VI, get the error 200414 saying that "required sample clock source is not valid."  It is strange because it is listed as "Direct route" in Max (the VI of polymorphic DAQmx Timing is configured as 'Sample clock') Q: why this route is not suitable for the task?

If I use DAQmx Timing property node and change the Source 'Sample clock Timebase' to ' / cDAQ2Mod6/PFI0 ", the task starts without error, but the separation seems to be forced to 256.  If I try to change the properties of the separation of the time base, I get error-201100.  Try to change the 'sample clock rate"doesn't have any impact on the task and the remains of divider"256 ".  Q: why the 'Programmable clock divider"locked to 256 when using the PFI line or can you just not program directly?

I came across another error is the minimum speed on the PFI line.  If I have the wiring (for the SamplClock Timebase) lower at 1 MHz, LabVIEW returns error-200077.  The error message indicates that the minimum value is 1 MHz.  9172 manual shows the clock 100 kHz is an option for the time base, certainly less than 1 MHz.  Q: What are the limits of upper and lower frequency for a clock signal on the line PFI for the ' Timebase AI/SampleClock "?

I looked on the site and in the DAQmx documentation for further explanation, but I have been unable to explain these strange behaviors.  What are the barriers to entry of Timebase PFI and the time base "Programmable clock divider" preventing me to reach my goal here?  If I can't do it directly, can I use the PFIn signal to feed an internal counter (to act as the clock divider) which could then generate the clock WAS at the rate I want?  This method would allow me to perform a division arbitrary clock (unlike the ' 256', which seems to be forced on the PFI as a Timebase SampleClock.)

Finally, something seems odd that I can make an acquisition to 10Sa/s max but when I start a task using an internal timers of the cDAQ9172 and ask a 10Sa/s rate, the task really gives me a rate of 1612.9 sample/s while using the 12.8 MHz clock and a divider 7936 timebase.  Q: Why can't the task to 10Sa/s?

I use DAQmx 9.7.0 and LV2012 SP1 (and I tried with 9.7.5 but I got the same results)

    Thank you

    Olivier

I got additional help Friday in another engineer at NEITHER and the solution to my original problem is actually very simple to get the clock from an external source path:

The idea of picking a PFI line for the basis of 'time' and the 'Programmable clock divider"(in fact, DAQmx calculate this number based on"HAVE sample time clock"and"Sample clock HAVE") works by using the node property below:

(SampleClock.Source cannot be resolved until the task is clerks/reserved, but the default option seems to be the time base that works well in this case.)

The question that I described earlier with the 9225 comes the module properties and the fact that it is a "Module of Sigma - Delta".  That the module usually generates its own time of 12.8 MHz base clock (page 14 of the document 9225 # 374707) and the clock divisor is much less possible values than the other modules (must be a multiple of 256). It may use a different time basis from a PFI line, but it must be between 1 MHz and 13.15 MHz.

So a main clock between two chassis and tasks running at different rates of sharing should be easy and simple with most of the modules.  With AI modules with Sigma-Delta converters add additional limitations and the master clock for the time base frequency must be selected to accommodate these module as well.

Another good news is that the Simulator seems to bear all these details and DAQmx (9.7.0 in my case) generates the same errors when you use a simulated chassis if you use real body.  Play well!

  • cDAQ-9174 with modules 9225 and 9239 for issue of power measurements...

    Hello to one and all.

I do turn a cDAQ-9174 with modules 9225 and 9239 to measure the voltage (120, 208-240, 277 VAC) and current (via the clamp amp i400, Fluke - 10mA/exit A) respectively.

I have the set scale scale Differential No. (1:1 I guess) for 100: 1 for current and voltage.  With the acquisition mode set to "N samples", 10 samples to read, at the rate of 500 m.  This feeds into 'EPM_Power.vi' (polymorphic VI of the palette of EMP... can be downloaded here, http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/209826)

I try to check my numbers with an Analyzer of power quality of 435 Fluke and supporting that upward is a Fluke 179 True RMS DMM with clamp amp i200 (for current playback)

Now, I'm running is my numbers I take data look like they're following a curve of fishing... the averages are on the right, but when my blood pressure is expected to be relatively stable, it's over the map... same story with my current readings.  I tried several different filters without success.  I would like to have relatively stable values for voltage and current so my other values are correct.  Is there a signal conditioner or filter that will help with this?

As always, a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Chad

    Hi, Will,

Your request for a screenshot actuall lead me to the solution.  Not enough samples!  I took little data too slowly and only seeing part of the wave of fishing AC each iteration.  .. that became glaring when I tried to this graph.  So I increased my sampling of 100 to 5 Hz and things seem to have settled things down a bit.  Thank you for the good question!

  • 9225 and 9227 Module Constant phase shift (Drift)

    Hello

I wrote a large VI and the am acquisition voltage and current with the 9225 and 9227. The phase of the voltage and current constantly derivatives. Its not just for phase a bit for all of the portion; the phase constantly cycles from 0 to 360 degrees. I have an excel file with locations showing what I mean. Series 1 = voltage 2 = current

I wrote a small VI to do the same thing with nothing extra. I have not yet add the data record. I just use a graph to plot the voltage and phase. The voltage and current were still off!

What do you think. Timers are bad on the modules? Slow computer? DAQ assistants are not good? IM using the internal timers in the modules.

Synronizing at the beginning does not help because the signals would still go out of phase when even later. The load is a piezoelectric tube.

    I'm using Labview 2011 and NEITHER cDAQ-9178:
    9225 3CH 300 Vrms 24 BIT simultaneous AIN
    9227 4CH 24-BIT simultaneous AIN 5Arms

    See you soon

I forgot to change to continuous. I do usually. The major difficulty that I did was remove the trigger "Start Digital Edge" completely. The trigger wasn't working properly with what I put it in, "PFI0"... Once I took it out, I got a sample invaded. I played with the numbers of the sample for the clock sampling and playback. I don't know why to use 25000 everywhere has not worked. But when I dropped the numbers to 6250 or something of this magnitude, the VI finally worked.

The VI works with or without the clock I specified (Mod7/AI/sampleclock), which is great news! Thanks for this tip!

The current and voltage are finally in sync. They will never out of sync! Finally I can calculate the POWER!

This digital trigger was the worst headache... Thanks for the tips!

I write the VI and the code snippet to my completed solution.

  • False values of voltage using NI 9225 and ELectrical Power Suite 2014

    Hi all

I have a few problems regarding the use of a map of analog voltage NI 9225 with code exaple quality Applications of power (cRIO) (Delta-Sigma) of the Electrical Power after 2014. Running the example code I values of voltage wrong, they are exactly doubled! For exaple with a 230 V RMS input I get 460 V RMS. I think the problem is the module, because by default, the code example expects to use a module NI 9242. Before the upgrade to LabView 2014, everything worked perfectly with EPS 2013. Am I something missung? I configured the C module in the project manager in the same way that I used with EPS 2013. Can someone help me? Thank you

    Gianluca

    Hi Gianluca,

If you use other types of modules in the example, you must take care of the conversion of accuracy in the FPGA VI.

As FPGA VI resampling takes the signal of type fixed point +-24.1, you convert the +-24,10 and-24,5 to 24.1 in the Data Acquisition loop before feeding to the FPGA VI resampling.

And in the loop of data Communication, you restore the output of +-32,3 to 32,12 - signal + and +-32.7. Notice at the time the zoom in and zoom out are equal.

If you change other types of modules of different precision, you must change the precision of the given thread.

For example, 9244 accuracy is +-24.11, so when you convert it to +-24.1, you must restore it by variation of-32,3 to-32,13.

  • How "block of surge protection" works in NOR-9225 and NOR-9227

    Hi all

Hi, I use NI 9225 and NI 9227 to collect data under high voltage.

According to the data sheet, the NI 9225 has protection against overvoltages and NI 9227 overcurrent protection.

I wonder what kind of protections, they, I mean, if high voltage or current applied, what will happen to the material? Fuse has popped up? Or trip relay? Can I re - opening after the failure to tension?

    Thank you

    Jenny

    Hello Jenny,.

We have an IC isolation that will protect some of the internal circuits. There is no fuse or relay you can replace. Because of this, if you exceed the specifications (±450 VDC for the RMS A 9225 and 5 / 10 A RMS for 1 s max with 19s cool time 5A RMS for the 9227), so will most likely damage your card. If you open the module, you will lose the warranty of your device.

  • The export of clock FPGA embedded modules e/s

    Hello

Is it possible to export the clock embedded FPGA, or derivatives, all Modules e/s?

    Greeting

    Matthias

I assume that this refers to one NOR 9225, 9227, module x 9229 or 923 in a CompactRIO chassis.  You cannot export the clock aboard 40 MHz to these modules.  One of the modules must be a master, and then you can sync the time base for all modules by setting the Source of the master time base in the Module C Series Properties dialog box.

Export the 40 MHz clock would not allows you to acquire data much faster still.  Depending on the frequency of the time base, you can calculate using NI 9225 manual Instructions and specificationsdata rates.  However, you are still limited to sampling frequencies in the specified data range.  For a base from time to time as 12.8 MHz, maximum possible sampling frequency is approximately 51.2 kech. / s instead of the available 50 kech. / s with the time of 12.8 MHz base.

  • cannot activate or reinstall the security module of Avira (unsigned) browser to v43.0 FF

Firefox has automatically (and without asking) disabled the browser security add-on Avira after my upgrade to v43.0. He refuses to allow me to re - activate. I then uninstalled and tried to re - install, but which is too rejected him - regardless if I have the xpinstall.signatures.required flag set to true or false.

Is there another way I can get this add-on re-installed, or Firefox can simply no longer modules unsigned from v43.0? (If this is the case, it's unjustified behavior and too paternalistic, in my opinion, the user should have the last word on what can or cannot be added on.)

I give it a try and I can see the issue.

For security reasons, you are unable to install the extensions unsigned from any Web site. Instead, you will need to do the following:

    1. Go to the website of browser Avira Security
    2. Make a right click the Add to Firefox button
    3. Click Save Link As... "to save the XPI file to your hard drive
    4. Go to the Firefox addons Manager
    5. Click on the gear
    6. Select install the addon file
    7. Open the downloaded XPI file

This should install the addon it correctly.
Sorry if it is difficult or impractical.

Note: You may need to restart Firefox for the addon to be installed correctly.

  • How to move icons of the add-on at the helm the additional module at the bottom of the screen

I have a number of modules, and the icons on some of them take a lot of space. So the navigation bar is stuffed full. I added the bar add-on that appears at the bottom of the screen. However, I did not understand how to get the icons module moved to the bar downstairs. I'm sure it's something very simple, but I did find the magic combination to do it again.

I would appreciate any help/suggestions you can give me. Thanks for your help.

I don't know if it's relevant, but I use two laptops computers Toshiba running Windows 7 and the other is Windows 10. Both are 64-bit. And it is Firefox 42.0.

Type of topic: customization< enter > in the address bar.
In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, press and hold
the left button on it and move it to where you want it to be.
You can move the icons you want here, but

Also, there is a default button in the Middle at the bottom.

  • Establishment of Firefox urging 42.0 refreshed and now my 2 - Fav went modules! Is reversal Possible to undo changes?

In moments, Firefox "Refresh" made a mess of my selections, custom modules, plugins, toolbars, etc and now fails, 2 - my favorite "go - to" Add - ons are (1) went 1 and (2) the other will not be installed. I would NEVER suggest that Firefox again. I was doing pretty well... Except for several months, Firefox crashes suddenly, and I have to go in to effect Firefox Task Manager, then open Firefox anew. All I can say is, I have to lose my marbles to 'Refresh' Firefox for the second time in a few years, after the first sentence of time due, and the overall results are worse now, the second time. I'm also tired of Firefox crashes.

Anyway, is the "refresh" which took place in the last hour, reversible? Also, just noticed "old Firefox Data folder ' then he'd ever seen before... is - it related to Firefox refreshing?

    Help?

Yes, an update moves the entire record of the settings in the folder of old data from Firefox, then Firefox creates a new folder of parameters with selected data in your old folder, not to mention most of the preferences or your extensions.

You can use the contents of the Old Firefox Data folder to "roll back" the refresh, but this involves several steps. It takes 5 minutes, but it's perhaps faster than the recovery of individual files and load those into your new profile.

Check in the folder 'Old data Firefox' update adds a folder with a random semi name on your desktop. If there is only one, that probably has your old settings and Add-ons. If there is more than one, you'll want to work with one who has been updated recently.

Once you have identified the profile folder, that you want to restore, here is my "old profile resurrection suggested procedure:

    Overview

Here are the steps described in more detail below:

    1. Create a new Firefox profile
    2. Delete all of this profile folder
    3. Copy in all of the old profile folder

Create a new profile for Firefox (Windows)

Exit Firefox completely and start up in the Profile Manager by pasting the following in the Windows search, or the Run dialog box by pressing ENTER:

    firefox.exe -P

Note: any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button create a profile, give it a name like OldSettings and skip the option to change the location of the folder. Select the new profile from the dialog box, and then start Firefox.

Open the new profile folder in Windows Explorer

Firefox in the new profile should look like a new installation of the plant. Open the troubleshooting information page by using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • Menu help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table, click on the view file"" button. Firefox will launch your new profile folder in Windows Explorer.

This folder open, switch back to Firefox and get out by using either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Firefox is closed, the profile folder must be front and Center, or you can activate it by using the taskbar.

Copy old data instead of new

In this new profile folder you just popped open - NOT the one on your desktop - select all content (you can use Ctrl + a) and delete (you can press Delete on the keyboard).

Leave this window open, open or switch to your folder of old data of Firefox. Consult your old profile folder. At this level, you should see a folder named bookmarkbackups among other things.

Select all (Ctrl + a) and copy (or right-click > copy or Ctrl + c).

Switch to the empty profile folder in another window and paste (or right-click > paste or Ctrl + v). This may take a few minutes because some files are large.

    Launch Firefox

Firefox should start in this 'new' profile with the old resurrected profile data. Success?
