Monitor issues Qosmio F60 health after BIOS update

Hello

Then I updated my BIOS F60 of 2.00 today to 2.10

Before the update Toshiba PC health monitor said that the fan would turn around 9% at idle.

Idling the monitor now says it's 50%.

Thing is I can tell by listening to the fan is not spining more idling than before the update?

Any Toshiba ideas?

I can just tell you, that if the fan is not make a big noise and cool the system, you should not be the concern.

After physically installing new devices, restoring by using the recovery disk, upgrade to its Windows 7 x 64 professional everything seemed fine. So I decided to apply to the Station of Service Toshiba recommended updates, which was the BIOS 2.70. Downloaded and install pressed... step by step - rebooted and went up in the wizard, where it tells me that there may be no screen and only the power LED flashes as activity - I then initiated the upgrade of the BIOS.

    ERROR!

After 60 minutes of waiting, I put off the unit, but it does not start - it turns readers but absolutely no beep codes or display - keeps blinking power light. Brick.

OK - so now I have google desperately for the key codes specific secret model and structure of the disc that will allow the recovery of the BIOS from a Flash DRIVE or CD-ROM - NOTHING!

Anyone have any ideas on how to restart the upgrade of the BIOS for this model of any of floppy USB a), b) Flash DRIVE or CD-ROM drive c)?

    Help, please. WHICH IS: ACPI\TOS1901 * TOS1901

    Hello

ACPI-> Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
ACPI defines hardware and software interfaces that allow focus on the OS configuration and power management to enumerate and configure motherboard devices.
For example: ACPI is necessary for the standby and hibernation mode.

Now your question; the new BIOS has been updated and configured to using VISTA.
It seems that VISTA was not compatible with the previous version of BIOS because the ACPI interface. Now you can install Vista on the laptop, but it seems that you need a driver. Possibly new chipset driver version might help. But as you probably know, the drivers are not available at this time. Unfortunately

  • Qosmio F60 - HDD and BIOS issues

I have a Qosmio F60. 1 months since purchase, and I'm having problems. I organize my questions for a better look.

    (1) if there is a new BIOS update, should I put to update mine? Mine is currently on 2.10, and the last is 2.50! And I know the change log, because I can't find it anywhere. : S

    (2) if I'm in the MBR, where there are two options (Windows 7, Ubuntu Linux) and I press the ESC key. The screen goes black, and the laptop fan is running at full speed noisy. The same thing happens if I reboot/hibernate Ubuntu. Also, this sometimes happen to the instance that I push the power button to turn on the PC, but this is rare.

    (3) my HARD drive creates serious noise. I think that all hard drives have, but I have to check if it is safe, and what could be the cause. The sound is little consecutive cracks when the HARD drive is reading.

    (4) the BIOS I found (2.50) is for the model no: PQF65-E, while mine is PQF65-L. I ran the .exe, and he identified my current BIOS without any compatibility issues. Although I don't actually flashed the BIOS, because I want to question 1) answered first.

    > 1) if there is a new BIOS update, should I update mine? Mine is currently on 2.10, and the last is 2.50! And I know the change log, because I can't find it anywhere. : S

Well, if you have problems, then an update of the BIOS can be useful.
Here you will find an instruction how to do this:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=60

(> 2) if I'm in the MBR, where there are two options (Windows 7, Ubuntu Linux) and I press the ESC key. The screen goes black, and the laptop fan is running at full speed noisy. The same thing happens if I reboot/hibernate Ubuntu. Also, this sometimes happen to the instance that I push the power button to turn on the PC, but this is rare.

Sorry mate, but as I know Linux is not supported by Toshiba. So I can't say about concerns generally Linux could react a little bit different as a windows OS and of course the cooling modules could run differently also.

(> 3) my HARD drive creates serious noise. I think that all hard drives have, but I have to check if it is safe, and what could be the cause.
The sound is little consecutive cracks when the HARD drive is reading.

In your case I would always back up data on another HARD drive or a disk to be always on the safe side.
I mean the HARD drive can still die and it s better to have backups of backup.

    Hello world
    I upgrade my RAM a g-skill 2 * 4 GB 1066 Mhz DDR3
    I have a Qosmio F60-100
    I am on Windows 7 pro N
I checked whether they have updated bios (the toshiba soft explain to me, that there is not an update available)
I checked if the RAM were compatible with my laptop (these have been suggested to me)

When I put the new RAM in the laptop, in "Starting Windows", the screen goes black and the fan works hard.
So I'm not able to install my new RAM.

These ram are compatible with my laptop?
    What is the problem?

Thanks so much for all those who can help you.

PS: English is not my mother tongue, sorry about that...

    Hello

According to your Qosmio notebook specifications can be improved up to 8 GB. The comparable memory modules are:
    2 GB DDR3-1066-PA3676U-1M2G
    4 GB DDR3-1066-PA3677U-1M4G

I don't know that references your RAM modules but the behavior described is probably as a result of the use of non compatible modules.

  • Satellite M100 - no speakers sound thorugh after BIOS update

    Hi all

I have satelite M100 PSMAAA-02006 with XP. I just updated the Bios on V3.0. Speakers do not work after update but the audio jack works so with headphones I can listen to but not through Laptop speakers and the keys to media on top of keyboard play, pause, stop, next, back, etc. homepage react too much.

Someone knows the solution to this issue. Or is it possible to get the old BIOS? Although I not sure aboutt previous version.

need quick help. Please answer as soon as possible.

    Thanks & best regards...

    Hi Julie,.

I doubt that this was due the update of the BIOS. Is that what you have loaded default settings after updating the BIOS?
Have you chosen the correct BIOS update?

Normally you can hear the sound on the speakers laptop if you disconnect the headset. Make sure that the sound is not muted, you can do this with the FN + ESC key combination.

About the multimedia keys, I would recommend reinstallation of Toshiba common Modules. You can find it on the Toshiba site.

  • Re: NB520 - buttons on the touchpad does not work after BIOS update

Got my NB520 yesterday and installed all windows updates, and then the BIOS updates proposed by the action center of Toshiba and after that the two touchpad buttons have stopped working.

They did before. Any ideas whats happened, this is the update of the BIOS?

I put t know if its the related issue of the BIOS, but if there is no way to get buttons working again I recommend you reinstall the OS using the recovery mode. Test the functionality of buttons with the factory settings.

By the way: touchpad works properly?
You can use an external mouse correctly?
Have you checked all the settings of the touchpad?

  • Satellite L735-103: one key does not work after BIOS update

    Hello

I got a Sat L735-103, part no: PSK0CE - 00N0OUEP and I download the bios for this pc, toshiba Web site.
I have updated bios with no problem, but now a realization thatm a key (the key located in the good of "* f ' and 'z') of the keyboard does not work.
I have a plate with windows and linux, and the result is the same.

Maybey I need to go back to the old bios, but in the toshiba Web site only have a bios download: (.)

    Hello

Somehow, I can't believe that this button malfunction has something to do with the new BIOS.
Have you noticed the anomaly key immediately after the update of the BIOS?
You have default BIOS? If not, access the BIOS by pressing F2 when starting the laptop.
Here, you can set default BIOS and then save the changes.

If this is not enough, I would recommend contacting the Toshiba ASP because the technician must check whether the button is defective. In this case, replace the keyboard. The technician would be able to downgrade the BIOS as well and could check if it of really a BIOS issue.

  • HP Probook G3 450: Start slowly after bios update

    Hello everyone,

I am a new user of laptop Hp so I need your help, I want to thank you for your time to read and help me with this problem.

Yesterday, I updated the bios Hp SoftPaq Download Manager recommendation. Progress to succeed and the result of this action made my laptop boot really slowly. The first time, it took just 10 seconds to start windows 10 compared to more than two minutes after the update of the bios.

I've already searched google for help, but it still does not originally.

Please help me with your experience on it, I really appreciate all your help.

    Best wishes

Assuming that this PC came with the edition of Win10, all I can guess at this point is the default setting for FastStartup is in conflict with the new version of the BIOS.  It is a new form of hibernation which is supposed to speed up your boot process, but in some cases, it actually slows down.

There are two ways to disable FastStartup Win8/10; (1) via the control panel and (2) through a command prompt high.

Control Panel - open Control Panel-> Power Options.
Select ' choose what buttons power. "
Select "change settings that are currently unavailable".
At the bottom of the window, under stop settings, uncheck the box about quick startup

High - command prompt run the following command:
    REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power" v HiberbootEnabled /T REG_dWORD 0 f d

    In both cases, restart Windows.

If this doesn't fix it, there is something to play and while this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly so they put you in contact with HP Tech Support to see what they can do on the diagnosis and repair of your machine remotely.

I did recently, and HP technology was able to remotely access my PC on the Internet and to make the necessary repairs.
