Monitor LCD Dell blurred the area to the right of all the data on the screen.

Left of the screen and all printed edge areas of the display have a fuzzy section that extends to the right. Like a picture but all the shades of gray without data

Found the problem.  Cleaned the video card in the back of the monitor.

    Hi Bilipino,

You have more than one display card? Try to connect your monitor to the another card and see if you can get the display.

  • Monitor not displaying on the screen

I just finished the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade (from Windows Vista Home Premium) on my laptop Dell Studio XPS 16.  Everything went smoothly except now when I connect my laptop to my Dell SW2409W 24 '' monitor (via HDMI), I'm having a small problem.  Even if Windows detects indeed the type of monitor properly and defines the resolution 1920 x 1080, it does not fill the entire screen.  There is a space 1-2 "black all around the outside.  I went to the start in the monitor settings (using the buttons on the monitor) to automatically adjust the display settings, but they are all disabled in HDMI mode.  The monitor works perfectly with my other computer and the laptop screen is very good too.  I updated the driver, and the driver for my graphics (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670).

    Any suggestions?

Go to the center of control catalyst for ATI cards > select desktop computers and screens > go to the little tag on the monitor/s drop and select Configure. In the next window, select the 'Scaling Options' tab and check the box and drag the bar to the right to have your screen fill the screen.

I had the same problem, thought about her experiences.

  • Dell computer laptop starts but the screen does not light

    Hello

I have a laptop Dell older (studio 1558) and when I used it the other day, 'static' filled monitor image and then the screen went completely black.  Now when I turn it on, it seems that the computer starts well but the screen is black.

Get yourself an external monitor, easy solution, right? -bad.  Unfortunately when I plugged my laptop in a separate monitor, the monitor (which works fine) showed no images.

Still, I had this laptop for a few years.  I see about being 'easy' opening and closing of the laptop.  This has been the case in recent years, however, so I don't know if something has finally given...

I'm not the best computer savvy so sorry if I was not more detailed... any ideas, what is wrong and how do I fix?  I rather would not somewhere that make me fixed.

You will probably get a better response if you re - post it in the forum of the laptop and mention the version of Windows, too. (This is the forum office.)

If that you have on your system without stop stop OK, sometimes this can cause corruption in the filesystem NT (NTFS).

If it was me, I could run a check disk with error correction and see what it finds / corrections.  If there is nothing to do, then you have another problem, but I would start with this first.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Chkdsk /r

Click OK and answer in the affirmative to the question about running chkdsk at the next system startup, and then restart the system and chkdsk runs.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

When chkdsk runs automatically restart, the results appear in the case where the watcher Application

A shortcut to the event viewer is to click on start, run and enter in the box:

I prefer to run chkdsk /r from the XP Recovery Console so you can see what he does.

You have a genuine XP bootable installation CD or you want to know how to make a bootable CD of XP (no XP media required) Recovery Console to run chkdsk /r from there?

    Here's how:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget what you have (no XP media required).

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD (do not install UniBlue or the Ask Toolbar - never!):

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • Red hue S2340L and intertwining of the lines on the left side of the screen

    Hello

I have been using the monitor S2340L dell for the last 4 months. Now he seems to have a reddish tint on the left side of the screen. On a thorough inspection it seems also to be interlacing of horizontal lines. These lines don't extend to whole screen however, only about 5cm from the left at the border. the rest of the function of the monitor as usual.

I did the test, in disabling the pc and pressing the keys 1 and 4 on monitor. It's still there. Please me tips on how to get this repaired/replaced product.

    Hello

1 did you change the resolution of your monitor?

The size of the keyboard is also dependent on the screen for your monitor resolution. Increase the screen resolution and the size of the keyboard will adjust automatically.

  • the screen image is slightly deformed on the widescreen

I bought a new Samsung 23 "screen and select a resolution of 1440 x 990 as advised on broad implemented in the jubt menu.
I thought that I had supported the silly PuTTY stretched images with this fix, but now I see, especially when I looked at a few pictures of myself that I look 20 lbs heavier because the screen image is just a bit too wide.
I want full screen! In the window slider bar to adjust the resolution, there is no custom fine tuning number to pass to. I tried a bit slippery, and the choice of integer leapt to radically different numbers - not what I wanted.
I need accurately and without distortion to my images since I use PhotoShop.
How can I fine tune the "stretch"?

  • get a pop up on the screen saying lock shift is enabled or disabled

I have a windows 7 PC Samsung RV510 and when I hit the caps lock key it does not say whether shift caps lock is enabled or disabled.

Everything on the screen caps lock is via the software provided by the computer manufacturer.  In the case of may with a Dell laptop, the screen is a function of the software Quick Set of Dell.  I don't know if Samsung offers something similar.  Another option, you can watch, is that Windows 7 has an option to play a sound when the SHIFT key is hit.  Actually, I prefer since I did not look at the screen to be informed that I accidentally hit the caps lock key.  It is controlled via start > Control Panel > accessibility > change how your keyboard works.  (Or if you go to the search box of the programs and files immediately above the Start button and type "toggle", then "Change how your keyboard works")  Once there, but a check mark beside of the "turn ToggleKeys.

  • To get a filter on the screen will appear

Generally it looks OK at first then a blue light filter appears making it impossible to distinguish the colors

This is probably a hardware problem.   You can check if the problem occurs in safe mode to confirm.  Given that this happens after some time for the dust clogging and overheating problems.

Is this a desktop or a laptop?
If your desktop - if possible, try another monitor to help determine if the monitor or the video hardware is at fault.  Check the video cable also connections.
If a laptop trying to connect an external monitor to determine if the screen or the video hardware is at fault.
