Monitor poster No. signal then goes to sleep

I don't know if I write this problem in the right category but that's.

Lately, whenever I turn on my computer (Pavilion Elite m9291d), my (HP w2207h) display will show a message "not - no Signal, HDMI - VGA signal". "." Then the monitor goes to sleep and blackens. I have to restart 8 times or more, and only by chance I could access my computer.

Yesterday, I managed to go to the HP online support and to go to the control panel (in Classic view), go to the option to, and click "NEVER" in the screen and the computer advised to sleep options. Then after you save the settings, I'm supposed to go to Device Manager and disable the mouse and keyboard. After that, I have to restart my computer.

Some can please help me and enlighten me with a few questions:

(1) why didn't I go to "Classic view" and not the normal display of Vista?

(2) if it is the problem of the screen, then why do I have to uninstall the keyboard and mouse?

(3) Will cause the Vista Live Update upset to the setting of the computer?

I have not tried the above steps again because today, I managed to get into the computer by chance. Help, please.

Hi all

If your screen is black when leaving "sleep" mode, this is the thread to follow: follow black after coming out of sleep mode

Please let me know your results. If the steps above do not work, please provide the following information:

1 the model number of the computer. If you need help to find this information, please see this site: Product Guide to find your mobile phone number

2. the operating system. If you need help to find this information, please visit this site in order to determine the Windows operating system.

3. This involved on some programs or all programs?

4. have you installed new software or drivers on this computer, before the problem appeared?

5. what measures have been attempted from my first post on this thread, and what were the results?

    Hello

I suggest you to check the physical connection that is connected to your computer?
I suggest you to follow the steps and check.

    No input Signal message.

    Cause

This problem may be caused by one of the options below.

    1. Monitor not connected correctly.
    2. Faulty hardware

    Solution

    Monitor not connected correctly

Verify that the monitor is connected to the back of the screen, as well as the back of the computer.

If the monitor seems to be connected correctly, check that a cable is not loose by disconnecting any cables that may be disconnected at the back of the screen (usually the data cable cannot be disconnected). Then unplug the data cable connected to the back of the computer, and then reconnect the cable. By connecting the cable to the back of the computer, ensure that the cable connection is strained. Most computers will also have the ends of screws that can be screwed to keep the connector in place.

    Faulty hardware

If the connections look OK, unfortunately it is likely that the monitor or the computer graphics card is bad. To test this component is bad, either connect a different monitor to your computer or connect your monitor to another computer.

I went on vacation and shutdown my computer for 2 weeks.  My monitor worked great for a month before.  I came home last night and turned on my system this morning.  Now I get a white message in the middle of the screen with "input out of range Signal. Change the settings for 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz"and then the screen goes to sleep.  I can turn the monitor off, wait a moment and then turn it back on again, but continues to repeat the same thing.  I checked and the screen is already set to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz.  I use VGA and have the default positioned like this.  I followed the guide to troubleshooting online for this error, but it did not help.  Can someone tell me please how to fix this?

Finally, I got this figured out!  Here's what I did.

    Advanced

    Intel(r) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver

    Graphics properties

    Display settings

    Expansion of the display

Chosen at this stage full screen (no border) instead of "maintain proportions"

As soon as I put this the error screen disappeared!  Can someone explain to me why this adjustment has been around?  I would like to know.

I need internet back im lost without, plllllllllllllllleeeeease anyone have any ideas before go me crazy!

Hi, what you want to do first is remove the (memory) ram sticks and put back them in. Re-allocation of places your RAM sticks can solve your problem. If you also have a video pci-express agp/pci/or card so you can re seat which as well.

The RAM sticks are borads green circuit that chips on them in sizes of 3-inch 1 in. (approximately). They are kept in that they place in the motherboard by white tabs on both sides.

Try these steps below after reading and see the diagram with the photos on page 7 to 9 from the link below.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c00877796.PDF

    (1) unplug the power cable from the back of the pc, unscrew the screws at the back of the large pc Tower and then remove the side panel (the side of the pc stands out).

    (2) then put the pc on the side, with the open side facing upwards so you can look down in and locate the locations of memory. Don't forget to look for the white tabs holding them places.

    (3) once find you them, they are usually 1, 2, or 4 sticks them to total, to make the next step to each stick, one at a time.

First, push the white paws holding a stick of ram and the ram stick will pop out and you can pull it up towards you. Then everything just put back, push down (not too hard, careful not to damage it or the Board of Directors) and then the white tabs will click in each side. Make sure that you put the lever of ram you out in the same way, don't flit it that it will in a sense.

    (4) after that for all the RAM sticks, check inside the computer to make sure the cables are not loose and connected as they should be and then replace the side panel and the screw and turn on the pc and see what happens.

Here is a guide on how to locate the RAM sticks. I hope this helps.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

Please help us to answer some questions that would help us to diagnose the problem.

    1. What is the model of your computer?

    2. What is the operating system installed on your computer?

    3. What is the exact error message?

4 have had any changes made to the computer before the show?

This problem may occur if the hard drive is not properly connected or not get detected in the BIOS.

    Please follow the methods.

    Method 1:

I suggest you to check the manual of your computer to boot into the BIOS and check if the drive is detected.

NOTE: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Connect the computer to another monitor. If the problem goes away, replace the original monitor. Make troubleshooting even for the keyboard. If the problems do not go away, you probably have malfunctions in hardware on the computer itself. You can fix yourself:

On tests of hardware failures often alleged swapping parts by parts checked. If you can not do the test yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop.

  • Pavilion P7-1254: monitor goes to sleep

I leave my computer on 24/7.  After several minutes of non-use, the screen goes black and the power button on the monitor HP ha17 turns yellow.  Most of the time, I just have to move the mouse or press the enter keyboard key and the power button on the monitor turns blue and the screen lights up and asks for my sign-in.  On other occasions, after that the monitor went dark and the monitor power button is yellow, no matter how many times I hit Enter or move the mouse, the monitor not turns.  Sometimes, I get a message saying there is no signal and the monitor going to sleep.  I turned on the screen and off and turned the computer on and off several times, but it still does not light.  Then, when he decided to cooperate, the monitor will light up and work normally.  It has been produced for quite some time now (several months).  Any suggestions?  Also, is it possible to adjust the length of the no activity before the screen will Dim?  Thank you.

    Hello @mdh53,

I read your post on how your monitor goes to sleep, and that you are not able to wake your computer from sleep mode back, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

To find the option to configure your options from the Hibernate mode and watch on your computer, I recommend that you restore the power management on your system to the default settings. This is possible by following the steps below:

Step 1. Click the Start button
Step 2. In the search box, type "Command Prompt"
Step 3. Right click on command prompt

Step 4. Click on run as administrator
Step 5. At the command prompt, type powercfg /restoredefaultschemes and press enter

    reference: http://superuser.com/questions/669571/Windows-8-1-64-bit-power-schemes-gone

In addition, I also suggest following the steps described in this document on hibernation (Windows 8) and troubleshooting of sleep issues. This will help you enable your system to wake mode standby successfully.

In addition to the screen, I provided you with a few steps, you can try below:

Step 1. Unplug the power cord at the back of the screen and the wall
Step 2. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute
Step 3. Plug the power cable in the monitor, and then to the wall outlet
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the factory reset option and select
Step 6. Try a different cable to connect your monitor to your computer

    If the steps above did not resolve your issue, you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the problem persists. Please contact our technical support at the 800-474-6836.     Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on monitor problems and wanted to help.

Sorry, but without seeing your PC, it could be a number of different questions, which none can we diagnose or difficulty from here.

For example, if your PC has a video card and integrated graphics card, the store could have decided to use the Jack that you do not use and that, to turn off the video YOU use.

If the store is less traveled, and it was my PC, I'd take both PC and my monitor at the store, explain the problem and have them connect your screen while you're there.

You deserve to have a working PC - you paid so that it can be fixed!

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Monitor goes to sleep during playback of a dvd in wmc

I browse my residential wireless to my server in the Solution Explorer. I mount a disk image file video dvd (iso, I'm 1507 of them) in the remote location on a virtual drive.

I installed an external software 'The Maxifier'. I go to the icon and choose the start page, WMC opens on the second display (projector). This process prevents it being trapped on the second screen of my mouse. Select (with mouse) movies/dvd and everythings great.

Unfortunately displays to sleep while the movie is playing (prevents other dvd playback software it) Screensaver is set to 'none' If food options (when to turn off the monitor) is set to 10 minutes they will sleep in 10 min. If the value 2 hrs. they leave in 2 hours. I can move the mouse or press a keyboard, and they wake up back. Everything works normally except the software MCE preventing sleep monitor during playback. cannot find any setting to solve this problem.

The problem is the remote computer is in my room, Planner normally wakes up the computer in the middle of the night, doing what he has to do, then fall back to sleep. (must be the internal code that the interview wakes the computer no display signal is sent unless there is user imput - oh well) Once the Scheduler wakes the computer it's not going to go back to sleep until the time of power options is obtained without user imput. (another pain in the neck) The sleep time can be lower timer monitor. If I set the monitor to 3 hours (longer than the movie), while I don't have the move disrupton, then when the movie ended I have to remember to put in a shorter time, or what I've done is completely close the box every night and leave the timer at 3 hours.

    Simplify the problems

1 MCE does not monitor to fall asleep during DVD playback.

2 when the Scheduler wakes the computer from sleep mode and finishes his tasks he does not put the rear computer to sleep.

Remember that the monitor and the computer will go to sleep under the power options are set to, not a pilot or external software issue preventing sleep.

  • Monitor goes into Sleep Mode immediately after the connection to the motherboard

    Hi all

    My problem is like this.

I have a desktop crt monitor. When I give power to it without plugging it into the motherboard, it's showing a message 'no signal' all the time and never goes to sleep mode.

But when I connect it to the motherboard, the monitor goes into sleep mode immediately. When I delete the connection of motherboard once again, it's back mode 'sleep' and saying 'no signal 'again.

Any other monitor works well with this office properly.

This same thing happens when I am trying to connect this monitor to my laptop as an external display device.

    What could be the problem?

Can provide the complete specifications of the system if necessary. Help, please!

    Hi Danpedro,

I see that the screen goes into sleep mode, in the last step of installing Windows 7. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. you have an external display driver card attached to the motherboard?

    3. you format the hard disk during Windows 7 installation?

    Method 1.

Disconnect any external devices and restart the computer to see if it helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Method 2.

If you have a driver to attached external display card, then you can disable this external driver in the BIOS and check if that helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

I assume you are using a desktop computer you are referring to the monitor going to sleep rather than the course of PC to sleep.

1 check the monitor power management & the display adapter in Control Panel, Manager of peripheral and during that control you the mouse power management and make sure that it is likely to be used for anything wake up.

2 in case of failure, then check the monitor & display settings of the adapter to control panel, display.

3 check manual site or the monitor stand, so the settings recommended.

4 then check the settings of the Control Panel, power options, change plan settings change advanced power settings.  In particular, if it is a USB mouse, you may disable settings settings USB, USB selective suspend setting.
