• Tecra A2 external monitor problems

  Recently, I broke the screen on my A2 and until I can afford to get it fixed, want to use a monitor tft external that I have. I use fn and f5 to enable vga but the resolution is all wrong, and when I try to change the tft screen is disabled and it is up to the laptop broken screen I can't see.

  I just got an old Toshiba Satellite A100-283 and tried to connect it to a TFT 22 ". Somehow, it seems that this laptop graphics card does not support the external screen such as 1920 x 1080 resolutions. I find 16:9 1920 x 1440 resolutions and such but not at all.
  Is - anyone here know if there is a way to get this notebook running on an external display in 16:9?

  I have a P20-552 (PSP26E-025E9-S4), who is four years and works well with XP Home SP3. For more screen space while editing video I recently bought an external monitor - an Acer X193w.   It is plugged into my Toshiba with analog cable and the only resolutions that it will give me are 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 which none do actually correspond to the 1440 x 900 on my Toshiba.

Their support staff is now leading me round in a circle ("it is plug and play," "oh yes, that's sounds wrong", "here is the pilot", "no, we don't give installation instructions" and so on) and still no joy. The screen plug and play perfectly with an another Vista laptop that I have, but I really like to use with my Toshiba faithful.

• Satellite Pro A60: External monitor Shimmers

  I use an A60 Pro of the Satellite with a second screen (tft) as a dual display configuration. There is a very sensitive landscape shimmer that moves on the screen when viewing images or the dark backgrounds on the second monitor.

  Looks like you need to change the frequency (refresh rate) with the display settings screen. The internal monitor has a 60 Hz frequency (refresh rate), more external monitors are 80 Hz or 100 Hz.   I work with a tecra s1 (1400 x 1050) and a port replicator. I bought a TFT (1280 x 1024) and I want to use the monitor with my docking station.
  If I set the display settings in 1400 x 1050 (nativ my laptop resolution) my external tft is executed with the same resolution. And if I put my external tft 1280 x 1024 works fine but when I remove my laptop it works with 1280 x 1024.
  How to manage these different resolutions docked and undocked?

  If your device comes preinstalled with recovery CD or DVD all tools and utilities should be there. Please check C:\Program Files\Toshiba\TME3. It should there be listed DockMode.exe. If you want to check what tools are installed on your device, start regedit and check MyComputer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA.

• Question about two external monitors on Qosmio G30-161

  After having asked a similar question recently, I still don't know if this can work (and I don't want to buy an HDMI cable to DVI, if this does not work); so...

  Can I fix a TFT monitor (analog) output of the screen AND attach another TFT via HDMI (with a HDMI to DVI connector) connection and run the office during these two?

  I guess that the computer laptop screen will be disabled in this State, but this isn't a problem that I would be willing to go down with the lid of the laptop.
