Monitoring of activity Apple Watch break?

Hi I am a pianist and conductor. When I play or use my arms, the activity app records these movements and steps. I could have been sitting on my bench of piano for two hours, and he said: I got 10,000 steps! Is there a way to disable monitoring, while I play or conduct without removing the watch?

Thank you.

Hello

On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: My Watch (tab) > privacy > Motion & Fitness > disable tracking fitness.

If you want to suggest that Apple considers adding a more convenient way to suspend the continuation of the activity, you can do it here:

picked up the new watch today. Everything works well except the rings of the 3 activity. Ive had the watch for about 5 hours and none of the rings are logging information (booth hours, cal, etc.). I went for a walk in the open air with the application of the workout and it connected ok but this adds nothing to the rings nor did he record how many feet I walked to. Am I missing something?

    Hello

Check that you have configured the application of activity on your watch:

    • When you view the time on your watch dial, press the icon of rings of activity / complication, or;
    • Go the home screen (via a simple press on the digital Crown) and tap the app of the activity (coloured rings).

To begin, you will need to enter personal information.

    Also check these settings:

    • On your iPhone, go to: settings > privacy > Motion & Fitness - check that fitness and health monitoring are enabled.

  • Apple Watch + watch OS 2.2 + iOS 9.3

    Hello dear support team!

I'm one of the Estonian users Apple Watch, which cannot properly use Apple Watch after the Watch OS 2.2 update

Disorders: 1) Runtastic App do to save not the pulse is more. Before the update it worked properly! It is a very bad mistake, which should be quickly fixed. I read that Apple currently does not allow developers to access the heart rate sensor. If this is true? This is a large number of users who are not satisfied with the current situation. 2) activity + exercise - in the old days he showde the right thing (we think), then now after the update to watch OS 2.2 no more? We have tried to calibrate it but it did not help. ( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204516 ) This thing has difficulty as well. Observation: if launching the Apple application clean 'Workout' then he feels, it works OK. What do you recommend?

    Hi Urmas

    1 Runtastic

Runtastic can access the heart rate monitor built on Apple Watch - possible other 3rd party apps, subject to the developers have taken advantage of this possibility (which is available).

When you use Runtastic, make sure that you start and stop the application Runtastic activity on your watch, and not on your iPhone. Otherwise, the heart rate information will not be saved.

If the application does not work as expected, check and install any available updates and also try restarting both devices (see question 2 below).

  • Pause playback on Apple Watch activity

    Hello

I am a new user of Apple Watch.

The application of "Activity" on Apple Watch is fantastic and helps me track my daily commute and inspires me to move more.

However, I have noticed that this application brings together incorrect data when I went on my bike or a trip by Bus/car etc. I've seen similar problems on "FitBitt" also. Is there a way that we can suspend the collection of data on a riding/trip etc.?

My app shows that I'm objective! (Which in fact I'm not)

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It is not currently possible to ideally to suspend the application of the activity. However, it can help calibrate your Apple Watch. Calibration will allow him to better recognize the activity and make more accurate estimates, particularly for the steps and the movement goal progress in the implementation of the activity.

To calibrate your watch, follow the instructions in this article:

When monitoring your activities in General everyday wear, the application of the activity relies on the built-in accelerometer (which measures and interprets the movement of your arm). For best results, try to leave the arm on which you wear your watch to swing naturally as you move (and also do during calibration of your watch).

Estimates of activity also dependent on your personal information. To verify that it was entered correctly and update over time:

-On your iPhone, in the application of Eve, go to: My Watch (tab) > health > edit (top-right).

  • Using Apple Watch - how do I constantly monitor my heart rate during exercise

Using Apple Watch - how do I constantly monitor my heart rate during a workout?

Your heart rate. What it means, and where on Apple Watch you will find. -Apple Support

According to this link, it should be available - but I can't find it on my Apple Watch?

Is there a setting that needs to be enabled on it somewhere? The only place where I can see the heart rate is in the menu looks and there are only a few seconds? and takes awhile to show the heart rate.

    Hello

When you save a workout using integrated workout app, your heart rate will be measured continuously throughout the workout. During training, you can also choose what primary metric is shown on your dial, with choices including heart rate. At the end of the workout, the results include the heart rate data. Training sessions are also recorded in the implementation of the activity on your iPhone.

During the workout, to change the main metric indicated on the dial of the watch, slide on the side on this subject. Depending on your type of activity, the choice may include: time, active calories, total calories, heart rate, rhythm, speed and distance.

Health and fitness data from other sources, iPhone, and Apple Watch are also aggregated within the health on iPhone app. Combined data is reflected in the application of health dashboard, which adjusts the results to avoid any double counting of data from different sources.

To see Apple Watch heart rate data and other sources (for example a Bluetooth chest monitor strap):

-On your iPhone, in the application of health (icon has a red heart on a white background), go to: data on health (tab) > Vitals > heart rate.

Data are displayed in graphical form (this can be added to the application of Health Dashboard by activating the setting here) as well as individual data points (via display all data).

  • Apple Watch activity is not in the cloud?

So, I've been using a Apple Watch for a while and my number one problem is that 'Activity', I put together for the last year is not sync with the iCloud, so when I upgraded my iPhone 6 to iOS10 all my activity watch is gone. I tested this point last week and it seems that "Activity" app does not synchronize your data in the cloud, so if you lose your phone or your watch you will have to start all over again and latest data are lost. This seems to be a huge concern when I spend all this time my overall follow-up and progress. Everyone see what happens if you put to level or restart/reset your watch or your phone?

    Hello

Health and historical activity data is stored on your iPhone. It is not recorded separately in iCloud.

To guard against data loss, be sure to make regular backups of your iPhone.

If the backup via iTunes, make sure to select the option to encrypt iPhone backup (unencrypted backup excludes the sensitive data, including health and activity). iCloud backups are encrypted as standard.

  • App Apple Watch for monitoring stationary bike

I'm about to buy the new Apple Watch series2 to the follow-up activities. I belong to a health club and I use a stationary recumbent warm-up for about 2 to 4 miles. Won't record the watch the miles by gps? (I do not carry my phone in the club) so it can be included in the application of Health Watch?

I saw a lot of apps available for the race and for cycling but you have not found all apps for the watch to the stationary recumbent.

I would be grateful for any suggestions for app to download which can be synchronized with the iwatch for this type of activity.

    Thanking you in advance.

    Hello

The application of the workout on Apple Watch includes a type of activity for the indoor bike, which is designed for training on stationary bikes.

Indoor training sessions are not tracked by GPS. GPS / location Services is used for outdoor training, when it keeps track of changes in your location, during your workout, to help assess the results, including distance, speed and rhythm.

Choice of the type of activity that best matches your workout allows Apple Watch to use the most appropriate sensors and data sources to measure the results of your workout.

For activities that are not included in the list, you can choose 'other '. This credit a minute of exercise for each minute of the workout. Active calories will be estimated at a rate equivalent to a brisk walk or based on the data recorded by the heart rate sensor, according to what is higher.

Hello Skramer37 and welcome to Apple Support communities. I have a Apple Watch (42mm Sport One series, shows OS 3). • Running w / HR monitor AND headphones wireless w / Apple Watch 2 series

Since obtaining Apple Watch series 2, I've been out running with wireless headphones Powerbeats2 alongside the screen TickR HR, both related to the watch simultaneously via Bluetooth. While this works great, I wonder if I can do even better and lose the style HR chest strap monitor. Hello

Apple Watch includes a heart rate sensor built-in.

If you have not already done so, you can try to use this instead of an external monitor. When you use the application of the workout, the heart rate is measured continuously during the training:

  • Sharing activity with Apple Watch problem

I added a friend to my shared items Apple Watch and went through all the stages of acceptance.

However on my Apple Watch I can't see the results of my friend, but on my iPhone, I can see mine and theirs.

On my friends iPhone and Apple Watch, they can see my results of activity, but all mine read as zero.

    Hi slithytove,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that you have added a friend on your Apple Watch to share activities. On your Apple Watch you don't see the results of your friend, but you can see the you and the results of your friends on your iPhone. They see your activity on their iPhone as zero.

I just started using this feature myself. Watch OS 3 is really cool in how it allows you to share your activity with friends and family rings. I'm happy to help you with this problem.

Please ensure that all iPhones who share the activity are connected to the Internet and signed in iCloud. Use article share your activity with your Apple Watch, more specifically, this section:

    Get help with sharing activity

Activity sharing requires iOS 10 and watch OS 3. If more than one Apple Watch associated with your iPhone, the sharing tab appear not in the activity until you update all your watches to watch OS 3.

If you are unable to add a friend, make sure you have a Apple Watch and that you have not added the maximum number of friends. You can add up to 25 friends.

If your iPhone can connect to the Internet and you are connected to iCloud, you can get the updates relating to the activities of your friends every day. If your iPhone can not connect for several days, or you disconnect from iCloud, you may see missing days.

Additional information can be found in the Apple Watch user's Guide
