More memory for a Sempron.processor. Upgrades.

I want to upgrade to Windows 7, so I only have 1 GB of Ram.  is it necessary to have more memory? My pC is "slow"? 1 GB of RAM is not much.

Above is the "minimum".
Get more RAM than the recommended minimum.

  • allocate more memory for my video card

model of my laptop is HP Pavilion dv4-1444dx entertainment notebook pc. I want to put more memory for the video card. my friend told me that I can assign more ram to my video card. I wanted to reach a certain condition for a game, but the "dedicated video memory" is only 64 MB. the allocated memory is 1.2 GB. I want to increase dedicated video memory. Help, please. Thank you.

    Hello

Unless you see a BIOS setting allows to allocate more memory from the memory installed modules, it cannot be changed. I just checked the service manual for your laptop series. There is no setting in the BIOS, so the answer is that you can not change it.

Your best bet is to increase the installed memory to the maximum, depending on whether your OS is 32-bit or 64-bit.

A 32-bit operating system may use no more @3.2 than GB of RAM while a 64 bit OS can use as much as the motherboard of your laptop (by design) will accept.

  • HP Envy Touchscreen M7-J120dx: more memory for HP Envy Touchscreen m7-j120dx

I bought the laptop from Best Buy last year:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04094897

I'm trying to understand if the 8 GB of memory that came from the factory in the laptop is 2 separate 4GB memory modules or a single module of memory 8 GB?

Then I think to upgrade the memory for a total of 16 GB of RAM, which is the maximum. the amount of RAM that is permitted to add to this laptop.

I see conflicting information. online as to exactly which modules of memory, I would need for the M7-J120dx.  I'm assuming I current have (see previous question in this post) 2 modules of individual memory of 4 GB each in there, and if so, that would mean needing to buy 2 individual 8 GB memory strips each.

All anyone can provide the specifications are greatly appreciated.

    Hello

8GB means usually, 2 x 4 GB memory sticks.  You can remove the service panel to check.

Edit: I was able to confirm that your device has 2 x 4 GB sticks.  You can buy sticks of 2 x 8 GB maximum memory on your computer.

Please take a look at the Maintenance and service guide:

  • Add more memory for hp nc4200 - stupid question

I know it's probably a stupid question, but I'm trying to insert more memory into my old laptop for my son. The vehicle currently has 1 GB of memory that I see when I take off the lid, but there apparently also 512 MB that I can't see. I thought of taking the 512 MB and replace it with a stick of 1 GB giving my son of 2GB, but I'm sitting here, after removing the cover and although I can see where is the 1 GB, I see no sign of the 512. Are the memory sticks in two places, not one, and if it's a how to insert the 1 GB when there is not enough space?

DDR II SDRAM, 400 or 533 MHz, two locations SODIMM, 256/512/1024 MB expandable to 2048 MB maximum

Here is a link to the welcome and maintenance guide.

It is an internal memory and an external memory module. Replace the external module is quite simple. Access to the internal memory card requires a dismantling. See page 6-28 in the manual.

  • Is anyone DIY added more memory for Mac Mini mid 2010

MY Mac mini mid-2010 is very slow.  I have 2 GB of memory and would like to increase it.  Can I do it myself or do I have to make to someone professional tech?

It is very easy to replace the RAM on a Mini from 2010-2012. See the videos:

    https://eShop.MacSales.com/installvideos/mac_mini2010/

Make sure you get only the memory of a place as above which guarantees that proper operation with your Mini. Macs ae picky on memory.

  • Satellite 1130 - more memory for the chart

    Hello

is it possible to change the memory of the integrated graphics chip of a satellite? right now I'm just 64 MB. When I bought it, 2 years ago they said it can be extended, but so far it is not possible to change it in the bios (phoenix)...
    Any suggestions?

    Hello ric

Sorry, but something like that is not possible. The only thing that you can develop is RAM.

It is very interesting to know who they are. You're probably talking about the local dealer. I also heard that they often give some useful tips, information and suggestions.

  • Satellite A30 - more memory for graphics

Hi, I have a laptop of A30 satellite with 512 MB. 32 MB is given to the integrated graphics chip. According to the display settings on my laptop up which can be given to the graphics chip is 64 MB. Did anyone know how I can do this, I find not all parameters to be set and I looked in the BIOS, but there doesn't seem to be anything here either.

Any help would be graciously received, thanks :-)

    Hello

You can also change the UMA in the configuration menu of the BIOS (F2 during the boot process).

  • upgrade memory for envy quad 15 t-j100

I'm lookin to upgrade the memory of my laptop and apologies if this has already been resolved, I tried to look through the forum.  I have an Envy 15 t-j100 Quad with the 4700mq processor.  The vehicle currently has a single 8 GB 1600 mhz, cl11, 1.35v sitck.  I thought to upgrade to 16 gb 1866 MHz cl10, 1.35v.  Here is a link  That, or 16 GB 1600 mhz cl9, 1.135v.  The 2nd link

My main question is: this upgrade would be compatible?

It would be the first time that I am trying to upgrade the memory and never changed anything about it either in the bios before (just learned about xmp profiles the other day).  It is my understanding that the bios are locked anyway to prevent any form of manipulation of xmp.  Would it cause problems if mhz or case values are different from the memory of the stock?  And which expect the extent of performance without being able to access the xmp profile settings?

Thank you, and other suggestions are very appreciated.

Auto-detect and configure the BIOS but within the limits of the system. Yes, you're understanding just what I say. Even if you put the faster memory or lower latency, if it works at all downclock motherboard will it. What you put in, install identical modules. You will get on a 10% increase the speed of im with dual channel memory and you have only two channels if you have 2 identical bars. So if you add another gig DDR3-1600 8 SO-DIMM you will speed up memory and more access to get more memory for multitasking, etc.. This is the page for Kingston:

    http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/Default.aspx?DeviceType=3&Mfr=HEW&Line=ENVY%20Notebook&Model=86577&Description=Kingston_System_Specific_Memory_for_HEW_ENVY_Notebook_HP/Compaq_-_ENVY_Notebook_15t-j100

You have an SSD drive? I see that the system can come with a 5400 RPM or hybrid disk 5400 RPM and that is where the bottleneck. If you install an SSD you will think that you have upgraded the CPU and memory and died and ascended to heaven. If you need help with this post back. It is not cheap but you looked already expensive memory.

  • ATI radeon xpress 200 - a1350n - AmberineM-GL6E - share more memory video

Hi guys my question is easy to explain... I guess the title says it all...

    .....

I have an old PC HP a1350n that came from the factory with a card mother AmberineM-GL6E and ATI Radeon Xpress 200 as integrated video card.

    Well, my problem here.

    Like I said:

HP Pavilion Media Center a1350n desktop PC

    AmberineM-GL6E< i="" guess="" is="" from="" asus="" i'm="" not="">

    BIOS version: 3.01< i="" remember="" that="" was="" the="" original="" verios="" of="" the="" bios="" before="" i="" upgraded="" to="">

    Video integrate Chip: ATI Radeon Xpress 200< actualy="" is="" at="" 64="" of="" memory="" shared="" with="" 1gb="">

My problem is that now my PC has 2 GB of installed ram (2x1GB) and always has 64 MB shared memory...

Before I updated the bios to 3.15 the option in the Bios that allows you to change the size of the memory could be changed, but now after the upgrade is not possible and with grey letters.

    How can I fix?

    http://h10010.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&docName=bph04502#N296

It is a link that explains some of what I try to explain...

Also... I have the same problem with another PC (a1450n), but this came with an nvidia chip...

... so no idea what can do? to share more memory for the video chip?

Or should I get the BIOS? (where can I faund drop to do?)

    Note:

I forgot to say, that in version 3.01, I could share to 256 MB and which was then my PC have had only 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512) which, in the case of the a1350n with radeon express 200

But in the case of a1450n, I got 126MB with 512 MB of RAM (2 x 256) even at 3.01 version 3.11 BIOS... but now I can't do that... also the option disappeared o.0? WT@$%# !!!

Unless you saved the BIOS ROM file before you upgrade maybe isn't you luck. Since you ask about it, you have not.

The original BIOS is not available on the web portal of support for such an old desktop PC.

You can, if you are willing to take the risk, go on the forums of mod BIOS to get a utility that can return this function to your option of the BIOS screen.  Forums Mod BIOS should have what you need.

  • Maximum physical memory for ESXi?

    Hello.

I have two xSeries 336 servers where I intend to install ESXi. One of them is a single processor with 2 GB of RAM, the other is dual processor with 1 GB of RAM. They are all Intel 32-bit processors.

Now, I plan to purchase more memory for them. My question is if ESXi will have a limit of 4 GB in 32-bit platforms or if I can use up to 8 GB on each server (as I could do if I was running Windows 2003 with the pae option).

    Kind regards. Sergio.

Have a read of the document Setting Maximums for the Max RAM Oh and you can check the VMware systems compatibility matrix for your x 336 servers...

  • Satellite P300-1EI (PSPCCE) - how to allocate more memory to the graphics card?

    Hello

I have a laptop toshiba satellite P300 with this graphics card: ATI mobility radeon HD 3650.
I want to allocate more memory for this graphics card. How could I do?

I can't do this in my bios, I don't have this option...

    Another way?

    Hello

Something like that is not possible because the graphics card driver it controls automatically.
If the graphics card would need more graphics memory then the driver assigns the amount of necessary RAM automatically.

  • Extension of the memory for Satellite L500 - 1-7

    Hello!

    I'm looking for more memory for my Satellite L500 - 1 7 portable. I am looking for 2 or 4 x 4 GB
    but I can't believe that the price is about 249.00 for a 4 GB memory DDR2 PC2
(800 MHz) (in the toshiba official store).

I was looking on amazon and first ordered it (http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0034PO3FG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00)
which is certainly bad (it was for apple computers...).

Now, I'm a little confused that memory buy - what key information should I look to order good memory?
The manual says «...» Modules of memory 1 GB, 2 GB, or 4 Go PC3-8500/PC2-6400 can be installed in two memory locations... ».

    Thanks in advance,
    Fussel

    Hello

Given that the laptop supports only Intel GL40 chipset, you can expand the memory to 4 GB only.
So, you can use 2 x 2 GB RAM.

You can use DDR2 RAM 2 GB 667 MHz memory modules

  • HP recovery D needsrepairs says not enough memory for the backup

need to know which files can be deleted or how re-branded more memory for this partition without damaging it.

Do not delete anything and do not write something here! And do
do not try to assign any disk space more (it is not called 'memory' on a
    hard drive) to it.

It is a recovery partition; its purpose is to provide what you need
to reinstall Windows if it should be necessary. Anything for her and
    you will lose this ability.

Your computer comes with instructions on how to write its contents
on a DVD so that you would be able to reinstall Windows if your drive is dead.
Which should have been the first thing you did when you got the
computer, then do so immediately as soon as possible.

And another point: backup to a second partition is by far the
form of backup is the lowest. It's better than no backup at all,
but barely. I do not recommend backup a second not removable
hard drive (or worse, a second partition on your hard drive only)
because it leaves you likely to be simultaneously the original losses
and backup for many of the most common hazards: severe defects of power,.
nearby lightning, virus, attacks even the theft of the laptop.

In my view, secure backup must be on a unguarded and removable media
in the computer. For backup really secure (required, for example, if the)
the life of your company depends on your data), you should have several
generations of backup and at least one of these generations must be
    stored off-site.

My computer is not used for business, but my personal backup plan
use two identical removable hard disks, I alternate between the two,
and use Acronis True Image to create a complete copy of the primary
    drive.

I also use a 1 GB USB key pair to make more frequent backups
my most sensitive data (for example, financial information). For this, I just
    Drag and drop.
