More restrictive or less restrictive NTFS?

Hello

I have a folder on a Win2008 server called 'account '. In this folder, I have about 30 files.

In Active Directory, I have a group called "team of accounting". I gave rights NTFS change 'Accounting Team' in the folder 'account '.

Now, I need to make a change. A supervisor came to me, because she wants to change the rights to one of the users of the 'accounting group' (Cindy Johnson). The contractor wants to give me his read rights on 20 of 30 subfolders 'account '.

How to do this. "I tried to add his individual AD account to each of the 20 subfolders and gave his reading of rights but she still change the rights for them because it is part of the accounting team" ad group.

How can I solve it the right way?

Your help is appreciated.

IRAM/mcp

'Decline' attributes usually take precedence over "Allow" attributes.
Therefore, you must individually 'decline' rights 'Edit' for the user to the required folders.  All other attributes will be granted under its membership in the group.

  • Can I force it to use more vMemory and less vCPU in a virtual machine?

    Hello guys,.

I have a virtual machine that uses vCPU more than a vMemory, when I select the Task Manager, I noticed that the memory is less than 5% and the cpu is greater than 50% when no application is running when the application run the vcpu go high and the vmem remains low. If there is any way to force it to use more vmemory and less vcpu in a virtual machine? can I use the list of resources for this?

    Thank you

No, you can not force the VM to use more memory and less CPU. In fact you can force the VM to use less CPU by limiting the use of the processor, but it will affect performance. The only thing you can do with forcing more use - is to guarantee the physical resources for VM (reserve), but if the virtual machine has no more physical memory or CPU it don't use them.

  • RH9: How to solve show them more. Display less control in RoboHelp 9

    Hello:

I inherited a RoboHelp project WebHelp Pro v9 wherein the master page includes the text/hyperlink follow-up.

    8-17-2012 10-47-10 AM.png

I think that it is supposed to display the scrolling text more or less or in expansion. But it does not work. Here's what happens:

    1. Click menu text drop down.
    2. Click show less.
    3. View Script error:
      • "Failed to get the value of the property 'indexOf', object is null or undefined."
      • URL:... twisty2a.js

Hatracks record includes twisty2a.js, which is included in the output of help files.

I need to change the ' hyperlink [javascriptvoid (0)] [:] points to the script?

Any help, as always, always appreciated.

    Hello

You see what I call the "Master Page Enigma" at play here.

Master Pages are used in two completely different ways.

The first way is similar to the use of a copier. Imagine that you have a form where you want to collect information for an event. If you create the form and it has places for name, address, telephone number, etc.. You put the form inside the photocopier and make 20 copies. Each copy made looks identical to the other until the areas are filled in by the person you gave to the form.

Later, it occurs to you that it would be practical also ask for their e-mail address. If you change the original form. Now these first 20 copies are not going to see magicakally a new field appear where someone can fill in their email address, right? Best NEWS made from the modified form will only get that. It goes the same for Master Pages. The first way, they are used must serve much the same functions as the sample form. Any changes made to the question once it was created are not reflected in the topics that have been created from the master page.

The * SECOND * is Master Pages are used to easily spread the headers or footers on existing topics. If you set up the Master Page so that it has a header or footer, and then associate you with existing topics as much as you want to give to each of these subjects the same header or footer. If you make changes to the header or the footer in the Master Page, these changes * ARE * reflects in all topics related to the Master Page.

Hope this helps to demystify things a bit... Rick

  • How can I make the more precise and less smooth pencil tool?

Ive moved the slider of fidelity to "specific", but the lines are always really smooth. I need a line in stairs with several anchor points, but do not see this option in illustrator CS6. Thank you!

    Hello Jimi,

Looks like you are using Adobe Illustrator CC and not AICS6. AICC had introduced these controls as stated in your pencil tool dialog box. Please upgrade to the AICC 2014 of Ai version where you could see an additional parameter for more precise controls.

Take a look at the tools pencil AICC 2014 dialog:

There are now 5 ticks instead of 4 in fidelity. The leftmost is accurate is the new control added to make things same as in AICS6.

    Thank you

Microsoft limit formatting of FAT32 partitions to 32 GB so it doesn't matter what volume larger than 32 GB will not give you the option for NTFS or exFAT. You must use exFAT because it's a file system much more modern with limitation less. NTFS is a journaled file system, and while it can be used on a removable drive exFAT is always a better choice.

    It's normal

You will need to download the image to a photo sharing site like flickr or imgur.com then click on inset photo button and paste the URL of the image.

  • I can see my Seagate backup more player in the utility disk and report system, but not in the Finder. Can someone please?

I have a Mac Book Pro (mid-2012) which ran OS 10.9 Mavericks, which I upgraded to El Captain a few days ago. My Seagate external backup more BK 1 TB hard drive was working fine (reading, writing, all things were very good) with the Mavericks. After upgrade, he once showed in the Finder and after a reboot, it stopped in the Finder. I can see utility disk and the system of report but cannot do much from here, as you can see at the bottom of screen captures.

Backup external drive more BK is formatted in NTFS and I NTFS for Mac OS X driver/application on Mac. When I plug the same backup external drive more BK in a Windows machine it works as well as *. I understand what happened with her. This external drive is complete with tons of very important and useful data. Can someone please help with this?

After the upgrade to El Capitan, have you installed the version 14 of Paragon? To what level, you would need and this for download, see this .

  • To format an external hard drive (1 TB) FAT32 in NTFS file system.

    Hello
I recently bought nine Transcend (TS1TSJ25M3) 1 TB External Hard Drive

who is in the FAT32 file system. There are currently 930 GB of free space available. I decided to convert

It is in the NTFS file system. So:

First of all, there is no data in the player (it's free)

Second, how much space will I get after formatting to NTFS file system?

And third: is it possible to do this in Windows 7 64 - bit OS, or do I have to use another OS?

Please I need answers to my doubts.

    Hi Dev,

Thank you for choosing to post your request in the Microsoft forums.

I understand that you want to format an external hard drive, that has been converted to NTFS. Yes it is possible in Windows 7 to format a NTFS drive. Check out the link.

  • less than or equal to the loop condition

    Hello

What do you prefer, what's the most common one is more easily readable, less or equal in the loop condition?
    for (int i = 0; i < arr.lenght; i++){..}
    //or
    for (int i = 0; i <= arr.lenght - 1 ; i++){..}
I know it's basic programming and nothing to do with Java, so if this forum is not for this, could you please suggest a general programming forum?
I would really appreciate that I have a lot of General questions :)

    Thanks in advance,

If you don't want to think about yourself (which you should do instead of asking general questions), just lazily attack. The two examples reach exactly the same, but the first is less to type and read.

  • Activation problem with hard disk containing Vista deleted from a computer dead and installed in a work computer.

Problem: HP laptop with Vista installed suffers an untimely death. The installed hard drive with Vista is still OK. Hard disk has been removed from the HP laptop and then installed in an old Dell laptop. Windows Vista is complaining that Vista is not valid and must be activated. I get the activation from valid product key and the activation utility responds with an error 0xC004E003 code and will not activate. Microsoft does not support chat or e-mail for Vista and I can not even a phone number to talk to a human being. I think I should be able to remove Vista from a computer and run it on another without Microsoft having a problem with it. What should I do for this? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Property to true. An OEM Vista license does "die with the computer. Conditions of licence for the version of Windows 8 have changed compared to the terms for the most comparable Windows 7 or Vista or XP. In my opinion, the terms are now even more restrictive, more or less.

Good luck exploring alternatives to the BONE. Some Linux distributions are well worth a visit. Ubuntu, Suse and Mint are quite simple to install on a wide range of material. I'm not familiar with the Apple/Mac or Android offers, but many speak well of them.

  • Critical auth and limited access-list

I play just with ISE 1.1.4 and auth critical, but I have a pretty locked down from the default access on ports list. Is it possible to replace a list of very restrictive access by default in the event of critical auth?

It seems as if you are relieant on DACLs to provide access for devices (closed or similar mode) auth criticism is not a viable option?

Or have I misunderstood, and perhaps "action dead event server authentication allows voice" more I waited.

I guess I'm looking for something like "event action dead access-list less-restrictiveACL server authentication."

    Thank you

    Gas

Why not flip it on its head and have your less-restrictive-ACL default and impose more restrictive things through dACL?

  • Issues related to running applications after installation using a package created with CC Packager

I am a technician in the field with a school district in Idaho. We just moved to Windows 10 this year, deploy us through SCCM. For the first time this year one of my schools chose to share the cost of a site license for the creative cloud. The license of the company is owned by a company called the OETC. The problems come after installing the suite on a local computer using a building package that I created with CC package. Programs install fine and I can run them without any problems, I have administrator rights. For reasons of network security and security that we do not generally allow access to C: drive by students, (more restrictive) and staff, (less restrictive but still limited), it seems that the software more, we need to package will not work under these restrictions. for example:

    • First pro is used by a teacher and students enrolled in a course of video journalism. The teacher has a network of only to peer support that it maintains separate districts. I gave him a copy of the version to install, and it gets an error when it runs, indicating that a .dll file is missing the exact message is:
        • This program cannot start because API-MS-Win-CRT-Runtime-L1-1-0.dll is missing on your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. Sound computer is
using Windows 7 and the browser is IE 9. He tried to upgrade to IE 10 and 11, and he wouldn't.

    • I have a staff of security so that would like to use first pro to stream video of cameras throughout the school in support of disciplinary matters. When they run the program starts to open, then everything stops. I actually did him a member of the local administrator group, which made no difference, I also had him create an Adobe ID, so all the identifications with the Adobe servers should work.

Another scenario with a group of students and their teacher in a digital photography class is when you use the room light, they are allowed to save catalogs on the C: drive. the only space that they ae allowed to write to is their own office.

These problems are fixable? Can I access the .dll missing? Can save us a space of one drive for students or at least a network drive?

  • Compatibility issue for the DB link

    Hello

I tried to create the link from 12.1 to 10.1 database oracle database database

    and I have this problem

ORA-03134: connections to this version of the server are no longer supported.

    any help please

    SQLNET. ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION

    Goal

To set the authentication protocol minimum allowed when connecting to Oracle database instances. The term VERSION in the parameter's name refers to the version of the authentication protocol, not the Oracle database version.

If the client version may not meet or exceeds the value defined by this parameter, then the authentication will fail with a ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol error or a ORA-03134: Connections to this server version are no longer supported error.

    Notes on use

A framework of 8 to most versions of password and allows any combination of the DBA_USERS.PASSWORD_VERSIONS values 10G , and 11G .

A higher value means that the server is less compatible with regard to the protocol used by clients need to understand in order to authenticate. The server is also more restrictive regarding the version of password that must exist to authenticate a specific account. Depends on the ability of a client authenticate the DBA_USERS.PASSWORD_VERSIONS value on the server for this account.

Note the following implications to assign the value 12 :

    • To benefit from the protection of introduced in Oracle 11 database password g, users must change their password. The new passwords are case-sensitive. When a password is changed, the earlier 10G version case-insensitive password is automatically deleted.
    • Releases of Oracle Database 10 g and all customers of OIC before light versions of JDBC clients cannot authenticate on the Oracle database by using password authentication.
    • If the customer is using the Oracle9i Database, the customer will receive a ORA-03134 error message. To allow the connection, remove the SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION parameter to return the default value. Make sure the DBA_USERS.PASSWORD_VERSIONS value for the account contains the value 10G . It may be necessary to reset the password for this account.

The client must support certain capabilities of the authentication protocol before that authenticates the server. If the client does not support authentication specified capability, the server rejects the connection with a ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol error message. Here is the list of all the capabilities of the client. Some customers have not all the capabilities. Customers who are newer have all the capabilities of older customers, but older customers tend to have less capabilities than the more recent clients.

    • O5L_NP: The ability to perform the database Oracle 10 g of authentication protocol using the 11G version of password and generating a session encrypted for CPUOct2012 critical update key.
    • O5L: The ability to perform the database Oracle 10 g of authentication protocol using the 10G version of password.
    • O4L: The ability to run Oracle9i database using the authentication protocol the 10G version of password.
    • O3L: The ability to run the Oracle8i Database Server using the authentication protocol the 10G version of password.

A higher capacity value is newer and safer than a lower capacitance value. Customers who are newer have all the capabilities of older clients. The following table describes the allowed values, the versions of password and descriptions:

The ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION parameter value Generates Version of password Capacity of the customer Which means for customers
12Foot 1 11G O5L_NP Only customers who have applied the critical patch update CPUOct2012 or later, or 11.2.0.3 with an equivalent update release clients can connect to the server.
11 10G,11G O5L Customers using Oracle Database 10 g and later can connect to the server. Customers using versions prior to version 11.2.0.3 of the Oracle database that did not apply to critical patch update CPUOct2012 or patches later should use the 10G version of password.
10 10G,11G O5L Customers using Oracle Database 10 g and later can connect to the server. Customers using versions prior to version 11.2.0.3 of the Oracle database that did not apply to critical patch update CPUOct2012 or patches later should use the 10G version of password.
9 10G,11G O4L Database customer Oracle9i or later can connect to the server.
8 10G,11G O3L Database Oracle8i and later clients can connect to the server.

Reference 1 This is considered "Exclusive Mode" because it excludes the use of the 10G version of password. Allowed values

    • 12for updates of critical fixes CPUOct2012 and later Oracle Database 11 g authentication protocols (recommended)
    • 11for Oracle 11 g database authentication protocols
    • 10for the Oracle 10 g database authentication protocols
    • 9for the Oracle9i Database authentication protocols
    • 8for (default) Oracle8i Database authentication protocols

    By default

    8

    Example of

If Oracle Database 11 g and Oracle Database 10 g are present, then set the parameter as follows:

    SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION=10
