"Most visited" or "Recent visited" lists never change

I tried the solutions described in previous discussions with similar titles: create a new 'smart' bookmark with a bit of code and setting a value of: config from scratch.

Or help - list of the "most visited" & "recently visited" are always the same as the other and don't change never independently of it that I visit. And this isn't a question of time: I had the Mac for about a year. every day I visit some sites, with randomly a few others. The list contains eight pages on a site I visit every day, more facebook, as well as the weather forecast for my old neighborhood - but never "acquires" the new diet site I used it since the disappearance of Google reader.

-Is it possible to have a job "most visited"? Or do I just delete it?
And if it is possible, it would be possible to have it just select a landing page of each site, rather than claiming that including (for example) after the login and logout page of my webmail?

Please upgrade to the current version of Firefox 24.

  • It is important to update Firefox and Add-ons to the latest version to get all security patches.

"Most Visited" and "Recently set bookmark" and "Recent Tags" are examples of what is called Smart Bookmarks folders and are not the real existing folders.

These smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores the history and bookmarks in Firefox.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Hello. Is it possible to remove a web site from the list "most visited"? If so, how?

I doubt, there is a way to do it, but I would like to know for sure. I connect to Gmail very often, so of course, it appears in the list of "most visited". Although he is usually a convenience for people to reach a web site visited often faster, I want is not to appear there. It's not favorite, where you must choose to save a site, so I doubt that there is a solution. If I had used "Private browsing" in the first place, this may have prevented my problem, but I didn't know we could go private until today. Thank you.

  • Change the url in the most visited website?

I use the "most visited sites" bookmark for almost all the my regular browsing. One of the sites I've visited more has changed a bit (this is a car forum updated their forum software), so the URLS (3 of them) to the Subforums I want to visit is no longer applicable.

Rather than wait for Firefox see I visit the new separate URL from that old (and I visited the URL for years), I wonder if there is a way to change the entry in the most visited sites. Or change each time that firefox stores a particular URL has been visited x number of times so decides to include and rank in the list of the most visited.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

You can make visible in the (library) bookmark manager via the menu displays or via the context menu in the header of the column number of visit.

You should probably use the SQLite Manager extension to change this field if you want to make these changes.

History and bookmarks are stored in the places.sqlite file in different tables that are usually linked through a field ID.
You can easily corrupt such a complex is database modifications, so best to let go and to build a new list of the most visited.

  • How can I change the contents of the 'most visited' in the Menu bar

Once Firefox stores 10 entries in "Most visited", there seems to be no way to change these entries (e.g. the installation program "Most visited" while it contains links to Web sites that I want under "Most visited").

When you search Firefox HELP 'most visited' you don't even no matter what success there.

You don't control that made the request, you can change the query, you can prefer 20 hits instead. The search for the address bar with the "AwesomeBar" feature might be more to your liking. In any case do not remove the entries in "Most visited" as you would remove real history

After the creation of the bookmark to a "smart folder", you must, restart Firefox, after which the bookmark looks like a folder and will work properly.

  • My list most visited is empty and remains, no matter how many times I visit the same sites

This happened only since I've updated for Firefox 4.0. I go to the same sites repeatedly, and so far none of them appear in the drop-down list of the most visited.

Sorry, I realized then. You said that all other options have been checked. I assumed you meant those in my screenshot.

    Hello

Usually, the category is emptied when the range of the history is cleared. You can permanently remove the most visited by clicking right on it and deletecategory.

  • The most visited folder on the toolbar is not up-to-date and does not the same content as the list of the most visited in the bookmarks library.

The content in the most visited tag on my toolbar doesn't seem to update and contains a few sites I have visited only once. Is this a smart bookmark with the icon to the same folder as the working version?

If a copy and paste of the Working Group "Most visited" bookmark in the bookmarks (library) Manager only gives not a working copy you can create a new "Most visited" bookmark with location defined place: sort = 8 & maxResults = 10

You must paste the full text in the location field of this new bookmark and probably need to close and restart Firefox to make it work like a smart bookmark.

  • Location bar history shows my most visited websites in a small box with a scroll bar, is there a way to expand this and make it longer (with no scroll bar)

For a long time my address bar is backwards, the triangle button (I guess it's called the location bar history or something) always showed my most visited Web sites in a big box with all my sites. Now it always does the same thing but the window its shorter and has now a scroll bar on it, is there a way to restore or change this option to how I got it?

Normally, you should see approximately 12 items in the drop-down list.
This is defined via the pref browser.urlbar.maxRichResults you can review and edit the topic: config page.
If you see a lot less you could have an extension or a theme problem.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

    Hello

It seems that a parameter has been changed on your new tab page. These changes are usually caused by bars of third-party tools or modules. I understand that you would like to know how to reset it. No problem, please follow the steps below:

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise! to keep the comments: config page.
    3. Type browser.newtab.url in the search box to find it on the list.
    4. Double-click on browser.newtab.url and type on: newtab in the window that opens.

Restart Firefox and open a new tab to ensure that the change has been made. If there is no problem with the plugins please see also: troubleshooting questions with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems

Please post back with your results, we are happy to help you.

  • How to restore a most visited page

When doing a search, all of a sudden my most visited page or tab disappeared, how can I restore this?

Your list of details of the system does not show a pref browser.newtab.url changed, so if you're talking about the subject: newtab page and check if you see an icon of grid in the top right corner to allow the new tab page.

If you mean that the element most visited on the bookmarks toolbar then put back the pref browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion via the context menu to 0 and close and restart Firefox.

Note that your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.

The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: open with) If you do not create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

How much time most visited cover? The lifetime of the application? Or from 06/03/12 months?

Hello, what you could try is to go to firefox > bookmarks and right click on a folder/toolbar and select new bookmark. Give it a custom name to the following address, press ok and then restart firefox:

    Place: queryType = 0 & sort = 8 & maxResults = 10 & beginTime = 2592000000000 & beginTimeRef = 2

This will add the condition for this bookmark sites most visited only sites visited during the last 30 days to appear in the list. (the 2592000000000 value represents the last 30 days in microseconds, you who might change accordingly when you want to set a different time limit)

  • The most visited is not add Web sites. How to set up

I have used normally not IE for browsing, but lately with questions he had, I am using Mozilla Fire Fox. Jargon is a little different and I try to get use to it. The most visited is assumed to follow the last 10 sites that I visited the most when browsing the web.

My problem must be in the settings and I don't know where to go to fix this. Whenever I use Fire Fox and go to a website I thought that it would save for the most visited. In my case, nothing has been recorded in this tab. What hurt during installation?

Your list of details of the system shows you the story disabled, so you will not see the most visited pages and another story.
