  If you have made the change without having to reinstall XP, you will be taking and Pray H@ll. the best thing to do would be to reinstall XP and make sure you have the drivers available for your motherboard available so that you can update the installed chipset. In addition, be aware that if you have an OEM of Windows version, the license is dead when you changed the mother/CPU card.

  You can save files and settings and restore to the new installation of Windows, but the games cannot be guaranteed. Just give a try. If it works, it's fine. If this isn't the case, you must reinstall the games.

  I was a big fan of toshiba with 3 in the House, but when I come to upgrade the processor, I hit the wall a little. I have the most up to bios date on my 242 l300d pslc8e-06H013EN and I thought I was not looking for a laptop, an upgrade of the processor was option right ahead.
  I tried a zm-82 amd dual core as an upgrade for my TR-42, but the system does not even start.

  Q. has anyone had a successful that laptop upgrade or is there a cpu compatibility list?

  Zm-82 was a tenner and I went back, but if there is a dual core I can slot, it is much cheaper to replace a good laptop.

  I look forward to see if anyone has any advice.
  P.s. I did research the dual core, it wasn't a random purchase.

  Generally upgrade CPU on Toshiba laptops is not supported so there is no such list.

  Parts list starts on page 71, and point #6 is called the CPU. If you go down a bit, you'll see the five processors initially offered with the machine.

  I have a server with 2 xeon E5620 CPU intel 4 c 2.40 MHz. I have to buy another server, but I can't buy the same. The other server have 2 CPU E5640 intel xeon 2.66 MHz 4 c.

  Is - is this compatible CPU for vmotion?

  I read vmware documentation on CPU compatibility, but I can't find the answer.

  You said you have two hosts E5450. So why not Vmotion virtual machines to a host and then move it to the new cluster. In this way, you will see that it works or not.

• HP Z800: HP mother Z820 & NVMe compatibility?

  I currently have a HP Z800 with two physical processors.  They are the hearts Intel Xeon 6 + hyperthreading.  You get 24 effective cores including the 12 more virtual.  It is not compatible with NVMe, and therefore it will not work with processors Intel 750 1.2 SSD to add to the map.  To fix this, I seriously think Exchange on the motherboard HP Z800 for the mother HP Z820 boad.

  Any of you know if:

  (1) a card mother HP Z820 will be back in the case of HP Z800?  I know that the back panel will require a few minor changes, my main concerns are the general Assembly.

  (2) the RAM, processors, food and liquid cooling of the HP Z800 system works with the card mother HP Z820?  I know that HP Z800 processors using 3 channels for the RAM, and the HP Z820 uses 4.  Are the Intel 6 channels + hyperthreading capable of using 4-channel RAM or will they ignore this way?

  (3) is compatible with NVMe HP Z820 motherboard?

  I hope the exchange of motherboard HP Z800 with the card mother HP Z820 the use of the Intel 750 1.2 to SSD add to card that works with NVMe. The extra advantage will increase speed in other areas.

  I added processor E5645 6 Core Xeon (with hyperthreading) of the HP Z800 are not compatible with the connectors on the motherboard HP 820.

  Never execute Bit ([NX bit | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NX_bit]) allows the marking of memory pages as non-executable.
  Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 (SSE2) is an earlier standard that is supported by Intel and AMD CPU. This is why all processors that support NX would also support SSE2 too.

  But if it is not available in the BIOS, then either the CPU is not supported this feature or the BIOS does not support this option.

• Satellite L755-128 - CPU compatibility problem

  As the title says, I have a Toshiba Satellite L755-128 code PSK30E. He has a 2nd generation processor Intel i5 - 2410M.

  Laptop that works fine and everything, but I recently got a nice agreement on a more recent laptop with lower overall record, but a better processor. It's an and Latitude E5530, with a 3rd gen Intel i5 - 3230M.

  Go to the Intel website, I saw that basically two processors have the same TDP of 35W and the same size of package, both run on HT and have two hearts, the only difference is that architecture from 32nm to 22 nm and the frequency is higher.

  In addition, 2nd generation supports 1066/1333 MHz memory, and 3rd generation supports 1333/1600 MHz. My memory is 1333.

  Of course, as you may have guessed, I intend to swap the processors between the two laptops. Updated the BIOS on both of them, then replace the processors, re-assembled and starts, surprise: The recognized enjoy the old version of i5, ran fine and all, but Toshiba does not.

  He just opened when I pressed the button, but the screen remains black. Then I pressed the button again, it also normally stop. (I repeat, already updated BIOS update, as someone recommended). I disassembled again the Satellite, check if everything is in place, and second starting time still the same.

  Then, I am annoyed and exchanged in return on their original laptop processors. And both of them work fine.

  I put t know any laptop manufacturer that officially would fund an upgrade of the CPU.
  For the most current updates on laptops are your own decision and no one could provide you with a confirmation that your laptop with new processor work or run correctly.

  Indeed many people try to update processors, and in many cases, it also works on Toshiba laptops.

  But there are a few important notes:

  (1) you must ensure that the chipset of the motherboard would support new CPU. In case it doesn't, you can not use

  (2) even if the new processor would be supported by the chipset, it is still pending regarding BIOS support. BIOS is changed for each series laptop and it is possible that some processors would not fully compatible or supported by the BIOS.

  As you can see, the upgrade of the CPU is not very easy and it s no matter that a laptop computer that was equipped with the same processor the L755 takes in charge the other CPU there are many more factors that could affect these updates.

• T420 CPU compatibility

  I just bought a company ex T420 (love it!) but I think regarding the future - will be the motherboard support a 3rd / 4th generation intel chip?

  I'm not talking in terms of heat here, I know very little about the compatibility of the cpu chips. I do not plan to put in a very high technical robot, it would be just nice to have the features of newer processors.

  4th generation - no chance IMO.
  3rd generation - there's a chance if you're able to implement some new CPU in the BIOS firmware, yourself. Lenovo won't do.
