  • GTX 980 and no splash screen

I have a ti GTX 980 flashed running in a Mac Pro(on external power) 2010. It shows only a splash screen, however, so I attach a No 4 k monitor DVI port. Monitors Dell P2415Q 4 k (except for a random time) show no video until the initialization is complete. This means that I must keep an old DVI monitor on all the time to get not only the splash screen but even to get any video output at all on end of startup. Without a monitor DVI the Dells don't show any video and go mode 'sleep'. Bootcamp Windows 7 displays the same behavior. Any ideas?

  • A double issue of splash screen

A new Macbook Air configuration, after an attempt abandoned to transfer data from the old to the new mac, I have now two start "screens". It happened because I was prompted to choose a different user account name (probably because there's already the original registered name) so now I start screen one, with a version of my name of account to computer, then followed by a second splash screen, with the slightly modified name. Trying to remove this duplicate, I removed the original in users and accounts and it appears is no longer there, but the splash screen persists, making it necessary for me to register twice to get online. Because I set up all my Web sites, mail etc, I don't want to repeat it. Somehow remove this first splash screen?

  • First HP: The first HP splash screen disabling

I love my first HP but I'm a little tired of seeing the logo of "HP" pop a few seconds every time I turn on my computer.   Is it possible to disable?   (or by shortening the time)

It was ok when I used it just here and there, but now that I use it for hours, it becomes a bit annoying to have to wait few seconds every time that happens.

Good and bad news.  The bad news is: no, there is no setting that disables the start screen.  The good news is: you don't need to wait for it to go away.  The keyboard buffer becomes active as soon as the ignition, so run some keys you press on during the splash screen when the startup screen goes.  Simply turn on your first and start using it right away, even when the start screen shows.  Nice, huh?

Hope that helps!  DISCLAIMER: I do not work for HP.

  • Light client T520: t520 - how to disable the 'hp' splash screen at boot...

    Hello

We just bought some HP t520s to complete a lab that we t510s.  The t510s work very well.  The t520s are almost here.  I just need to hide a pesky startup screen.  When the t520 marketing and gets to the GUI, but before that the network is connected, it displays a splash screen telling me that his "waitting for the network.  Unfortunately, this splash screen also has a button called "network settings."  This button, this bad boy is what I want to disable delete or hide.  I don't care if the start screen appears or not, but in giving users access to network settings and host name and all sorts of settings is a waitting accident to happen.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get rid of this button?  I would really appreciate hints, ideas, comments or words of wisdom on this topic.

    Thanks to you all!

Try the following: in xterm type regeditor, go to config-Assistant, enablenetworkcheck the value 0, enableupdatecheck the value 0, the network/update dialog box will not be displayed. You must type the value in the value dialog box and click on save before you go to the following registry key. If this does not work as expected please open a case with www.hp.com/go/support

  • Satellite P300 itself keeps restarting after the initial splash screen.

My Satellite P300 itself keeps restarting after the initial splash screen.

Start-up of the first screen with the F2 and F12 options down is displayed, the screen goes black, then a cursor appears in the upper left corner and flashes once or twice. Then the laptop stops and restarts and goes through the same process again and again.

That's all with the power adapter is plugged in. If disconnected, he goes through the above process and close with no reboot.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

  • Satellite L640 hangs at the splash screen

    Hi all

I have a L640 / 01 H that I bought earlier this year. In addition to the original Windows 7 OS, I installed a Linux system on a separate partition.

Earlier today, I was using Linux (which is what I normally use) and everything was really slow.
    Finally I force-shut-down, power button.

Now, I noticed a problem with the BIOS on this laptop - if I try to start when there is a USB flash drive is connected, the splash screen just hangs. Today when I rebooted I realized that I had left a flash drive, then I got out and I tried to start it again, a couple of times. Whenever the computer crashes just indefinitely on the startup splash screen.

Finally I gave him enough time and it takes the selection of Linux boot menu, so I tried to start my usual kernel but he gave me some message about a bad MBR.
I kept trying to start, but the boot process is stuck, what happens is as follows:

    * The three lights on the left (power, battery and light) come on, no problem
    * HARD drive flashes white for a few seconds, then turns off. Occasionally, it will blink again.
    * At the same time, the screen is just stuck on the startup splash screen. If I try to press f2, f12 or any key too many times it will start emitting beeps whenever I press it. There is no way to get into the BIOS settings.

Also, I can't boot from CD (Windows recovery CD or Linux LiveCD). Finally some kind of time-out of the entry into force, and the computer restarts itself to start the process all. Yay!

I tried the stuff "unplug the power cord, remove the battery, hold down the power button / stop, plug back in, try to start" but nothing has changed. I also tried switching memory locations (only one chip of RAM, so I can't try a process of elimination on the RAM).
Finally, I also open the door to HARD disk and removed the HARD drive, then tried to start. This time the BIOS has answered, if only to tell me that there is no appropriate boot media. At this point, the BIOS was responsive and I could change settings in there, but I could not boot from the CD.

I thought I'd try resetting the CMOS battery, but I'm worried I'll damage something / make the problem worse. Someone at - it ideas? I know that the thing is still under warranty, but service centres are often slow and I don't want to lose the data from the hard drive.

Any help would be really appreciated.

It could be a problem with the CD/DVD drive what you think of this idea?
Perhaps the BIOS does not recognize the CD/DVD drive properly and so there is a problem starting the bootable disc.

In addition, it might be possible that failures of HARD drive and, therefore, you received an error message about the MBR (master boot record).

Remove the CD/DVD drive and try to install the Windows booting from a USB flash drive.

    _Regarding the battery CMOS: _
I would not recommend to disassemble the laptop because you could damage other parts and in addition it should know that the CMOS battery is not removable it s soldered to the motherboard

  • Tecra 9100 splash screen & installation of corrupt Boot but OK on XP

    Hello

I just 'inherited' the laptop above and when I got it it had this weird problem. When starting and in "Setup" the display is corrupt. In the start screen, this corruption takes the form of rows of small white lines and dots on any screen, but the screen configuration (or splash screens where you see white low resolution written on a black background) a significant number of characters is defined in the incorrect character (mainly the graphics/Wingding characters.) Corruption exists if the boot & configuration screens are in "Stretch" or not. Its almost impossible to see what the settings are on the installation screen.

However, if I leave the laptop to continue and to start XP, the screen works great, really clear and non-dead pixels or corruption.

I tried re-flashing with the latest BIOS (windows method), I F-Disked, then put in shape, then re-installed XP and applied SP2, then all drivers; However, the problem remains.

Someone has an idea what is the problem?

Thanks much for any help you can provide.

    Hello

Sorry, but on this path is not easy to imagine what it looks like, but it's very strange question. I have a similar problem with my Tecra M1. When I watch a video file with Real player and remove the actual window the entire screen is suddenly fuzzy and there are a lot of points with vertical white lines.

Just restart can fix it. I put really know why this happen and I can't do experiments because I use for work. In my opinion before using the unit to reinstall with the recovery media. On this way the unit will be installed properly and it shouldn't happen.

If you are recovering the unit and if this action solves the problem please let me know.

    Good bye

  • HPE-500cs: Permutation GTX460 for GTX960 = > HP Splash screen freeze

Hello guys. So today, I'm really really a lot about GTX 960. I rushed in and bought. Before exchanging I did I have deep cleaning of the pilot. (DDU) Then I swapped the cards. (GTX 460 for the 960) Wattage is sufficient. After pressing the button, the HP splash screen appears. 'Press ESC to enter the BIOS. When I try to press something, the PC sounds right. After like 30 seconds, I hear one long beep followed 3 short. The HP bios blocks the card?

I also tried the card in my pc of brothers, no problem, the card is fine. Only clue I have is that the MB has only PCI-E 2.0 and this card is 3.0. This could be the problem?

    Ive measures taken:

    1.) deep clean with DDU
    Clear 2.) CMOS
3.) begin without HARD drive is connected (nothing really changed)

IM really deperate. I intend to try different moba, but it's hard to find a good for a such old processor. The H61, I found all them have only 2 RAM slots, but I have 4 sticks of 2 GB. Should I go for Z75 even when I can't overclock? I really want to go back to my 460.

Thank you for your time and sorry for the long post.

EDIT: I have brand new 500W 85 + PSU, which should be more then enough since the GPU is only 120W

    SareMa, welcome to the forum.

I believe that the problem may be that the video card is not compatible with the motherboard BIOS.  Most of the newer cards require UEFI.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  In addition, it could be that the power supply is older and does not provide the necessary power for the card to function properly.  This is 460W and map requires a minimum 400W PSU.  Age of the PSU, they are not as powerful.

I suggest you contact the manufacturer's Technical Support to see what they have to say.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Splash screen, blurred or distorted after the PRAM reset

    Hello

I had several problems lately with my MBP 15 inch 2011. Install the new OS X versions and updates point makes three beeps and reboot several times in quick succession. Those point updates will then appear as installed six times in the list of the updates installed the app from the App Store.

Thinking this could be an issue that could be fixed with a STROLLER reset. I realized and noticed that the after reset the PRAM, the splash screen is blurred. Attached photo:

  • Satellite Pro L20 hangs on XP splash screen

I have a new laptop as described above.
I received it as part of an insurance claim.
But when I try to start it it hangs on the splash screen XP with the bar/indicator State etc..

I tried using the recovery of product, pressing f12 annoys me in the multiboot screen, with the options disk hard, cd/dvd, floppy etc. but my keyboard does not allow me to go upwards or downwards or press 2.

Is there something really wrong here, or am I a doughnut. Also sometimes it brings to the top of the black screen indicating "recovered from a fatal error" select startup mode. But won't let me choose the mode without failure or last known working only start them windows normally.

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Hello

Regarding the description of your problem, you are not able to boot into the Windows operating system. The laptop hangs on the XP screen and starts the operating system. Am I wrong?

Have you tried to access the BIOS?
The laptop must support a Phoenix BIOS, and so you should try to press F2 to access the BIOS. He tries to change the boot order and try recovery of notebooks OS since the Toshiba Recovery CD.

Try reinstalling the operating system. If it does not work, you should contact the ASP for the control of the laptop. As you say, it is a new laptop and everything should work fine.
The guarantee must cover all checks and replacements of equipment.

    Good luck

  • Music splash screen Apple

When I open Apple music on my iPhone 6s (iOS 9.2.1 13D 15) I get the music from Apple boot screen. I've seen this screen once before the last update of Apple's music and I chose no thanks, not "interested in a music test Apple 3 months". The problem is that now there are no buttons on the screen. I can't go past the splash screen in my music. Restart the phone is not solve this problem, synchronize with iTunes does not fix this. Of course, I can not re - install Apple music. I'm _not_ reset my iPhone to solve this problem. I want _my_ music back. Actually, I want iTunes to what it was before being itself together with the kluge is Apple's music, but that's another topic altogether... What can I do? Or should I just wait for the next update of the music app and I hope this is fixed with that?

No idea if it will work, but go to settings > music > show Apple music > Off. If that does not show the choice to go to your music, go back and pass this parameter and turns off again.

  • HP pavilion monitor go black after the splash screen

When I start my pc, the splash screen appears on the monitor, but after that he's black. I can hit one of the f keys to take me to the start page or diagnosis, but when I change the path of startup and press on save, then enter it just go to the screen black I have also hit the f9 key to go to the diagnostics page and run the hp diagnostic tool edge who said past when I try to return to the screen black new go! at first I thought it was a graphics card problem so I replaced the former with a same something new, I also tried plugging three different locations on the graphics card, I started with the dvi connector with an adapter on my cable even not, it will display the start page, just go s strait to no signal , so I went on the VGA slot that has been, I can get to the start screen, finally I tried the hdmi port and again, I can get to the start screen, but then it GB Black I removed the ram and cleaned and was going to try to go to Detroit from the motherboard to the screen, but I got scared when I saw the black cap with the words DO NOT REMOVE this topic! I tried 2 different monitors just to eliminate this probability but now I am just confused ideas would be appreciated!

    Hi lostone64,

The fact that you can see the splash screens makes me think that this isn't the video port or motherboard. My hunch is it could be a hard drive failure, operating system error, or problem of display settings. You never see a Windows screen until it goes black?

Have you tested the hard drive or made sure it appears in the BIOS?

  • How can I get the TestStand splash screen to not show up when I call the results treatment Utility offline?

So I call the Offline processing Utility (ORPU) a not executable call results in a plugin to perform a personalised treatment in another configuration.  Everything works fine, including having run reduced (mostly hidden) by using the option/tray.  When he called, the TestStand splash screen appears (certainly is not a show-stopper but it's confusing from the point of view of the user).

Is it possible that I can get this start screen to not appear when calling the ORPU?  I noticed in the help, mention is made of the use of the callback file, and I wonder if someone has successfully used this to avoid the dialog box or other behaviors.  I would like more info on how it works, but it doesn't seem to be a vast detail on this in the help, and I'm not also find me useful examples.

The source of the Offline utility treatment results is included with TestStand and can be changed.

The ORPU source is located under "Components\Models\TestStandModels\Offline utility treatment results"

From the source, you can see that there is no flag that allows you to hide the splash screen (except for / I leave, but that it will also close the ORPU!); However, you can easily change the ORPU so it does not show the start screen by removing the following lines in \Components\Models\TestStandModels\Offline Results Processing Utility\OfflineResultsProcessingUtility\MainForm.cs

    If (! data.) Quit smoking)
    splashScreenForm = new SplashScreen (mEngine, false);

Regarding the flags without papers, there are not really many flags undocumented in the ORPU (even once, you can see them in the source), and undocumented flags have very specific use cases (open files from shell and NEITHER internal regression tests).

A (non-official) complete list of indicators ORPU from 2014 TS:
