Mounting of the Scans

On my old HP scanner (Sm4200c) I could edit my scans and then re-scan and preview shows the area that I have identified.  IE: If I had a smaller than A4 paper I could scan, edit it to remove the excess of the A4 and then re-scan and the analysis would then be a document in A4 format.  Is it possible on the 5520 because I can't seem to find how do?

Hello Salsa-112,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you're wondering if you can change your scans with the Photosmart 5520. I will do my best to help you! The Scanjet 4200C is completely different compared to the Photosmart 5520. The software will be different, but I'll give you an example:

You can crop the scan, add or delete pages and turn the pages. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

  • Target Disk Mode - MacBook is not mounted in the desktop iMac

I have a MacBook to 2015 and a cable USB-A-USB-C marked 'SS '.  In November 2015, I might start my MacBook in TDM and plug it into my iMac 2013 and see him mount on the desktop.  I could then synchronize some of the files (using synchronize folders) and have up-to-date on my MacBook.  Both computers running El Capitan.

But about 3 months ago this system has stopped working.  Editing of my MacBook on the desktop iMac became sporadic and now never happens.  I have tried different cables, connected to different USB ports (the back of the iMac, iMac keyboard and a Flash to USB dock (Belkin)), but no joy.

Has updated the firmware of computers?  El Capitan has stopped this feature very useful to work?

    Any ideas, anyone?

    Chris

As a work-around, there are other ways of synchronization of files between devices.

iCloud Drive, Box, OneDrive, DropBox, Google Drive. These will make everything you do.

  • "The scan of the computer is enabled is no longer" false error

    Hello

I bought and installed a HP DeskJet 3521. It is configured for wifi connectivity to two computers on our home network. A laptop computer is 8 64-bit Windows. The other is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

The printer seems to work perfectly. However, the driver regularly (as in all the several minutes or so) pops up a message saying "the Scan of the computer is enabled is no longer" or something like that. It is apparent from the system tray. It fades after a few seconds. Otherwise the printer seems to work very well. This happens on two laptops.

Laptops are in the same room as the printer and the router. The signal strength is high.

Why did this message occurring and is there a solution for this?

    Thank you

It is very probably the same problem I had with the HP printers for years.  It happens when the printer goes into a power saving sleep state and falls of connectivity.  To resolve the issue, you have to walk on the printer and the power of the cycle.  It has NOTHING to do with your router or static/dynamic IP allocation.  It's the fault of crappy entiely firmware and HP software.  HP 'experts' are playing the same game of blame-the-other-manufacturer or blame the old user that HP has always played.

My current HP printer is the third HP sub-standard product I've owned... on three (Yes, I know, shame on me twice).  I've owned a high-end, expensive laptop which overheated during playback of a video to youtube and two printers which disengages automatically when they entered in the mode 'sleep'.  It will be the last HP product I already own...

    Hi NICOLI12,

I understand that you want to know how to scan to e-mail.

I'll be happy to help you.

You should be able to analyze through the scanning software HP to e-mail can also scan to e-mail from the control panel of the printer. I have provided a document to find out how Scan.

    Hope that solves your problem.

If you are on Mac, please let me know.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • HP 8740: Vertical lines, while the scanning & photocopies

I bought a new HP8740 about three weeks ago and everything worked well until today.

Now I have black vertical lines down the scan or photocopy.

First of all, I turned off the printer for 30 seconds and put the plug directly into the wall.  It did not work.

I turned off - unplugged for 5 minutes - but still has the black lines.

Can someone please suggest something else I can try.

Hello @gouldian, thank you very much for your answer.

The only difference between the analysis of the dumpster and using the ADF is where scanning occurs. Uses of the ADF Strip glass (1 "wide) toward the left side of the pane of glass for analysis. Cleaning if ideally white scanner ADF lid and glass ADF scanner should have solved the problem.

I suggest you to do a blank copy on ADF, keep the page in front of you and carefully clean the place, you get the line in the band scanner & the white plastic strip.

If the issue is always I suggest you to clean the ADF mechanism itself. You can watch a video of HP http://hp.care/2bYt7Qu that will help you to do this. The video is made using the Officejet 8600 printer, but it's the same for your printer as well.

Please let me know what happens. Thank you!

    See you soon

  • Office jet Pro 8600: how to change the folder for the scans on my Apple?

Hi, I want to know how to change the destination for my scans folder when I scan from the printer.  Currently, the scans go to "documents", and I want him to be in a business case.  Clues?  I tried to watch some instructions on the previous posts, but it seems that they are for windows.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi @jgossc,

I'd be happy to help you change your scan destination. I understand that when you scan your Officejet Pro 8600 to your Mac, the file analysis is currently underway to your documents and want to let them instead to a business case.

To change the destination please follow the steps below and let me know the results of your efforts:

    • Open HP utility
    • Select Scan to the computer
    • Click Scan tasks to change
    • Choose a shortcut to scan
    • Select Edition
    • In the options listed here, you should see scan destination

If this resolves the issue, please click Accept as Solution button below; If not, let me know and I will do everything I can to help. Thank you.

  • Allowing the scanning of an iMac

I have a HP Photosmart 6510 printer which I use printing and scanning wireless to my iMAc. It worked fine before with the iMAC and I have no trouble printing or scanning of my windows machine now.

I've recently updated to Yosemite on my iMac. When I try to scan, I get a message that the scanning is not enabled. When I go on the website of the printer to try to turn the analysis, I get a message inviting me to "connect to"Admin"area on hpfc4632.local.:80.

It asked for name and password. I don't know what is required - something for the printer or the iMAC? I tried my iMac names and passwords nothing helps. I don't know what else is necessary.

    Hi Barry (@Barfar),.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I think I can help you find another way to activate the scan of the computer on your Mac under OS X 10.10

Under the FAQ section of this document to scanning with HP software full feature in OS X v10.10 Yosemite , under the heading why my printer does not scan to the computer from the Control Panel, it will explain another way to activate the scan of the computer. You are now able to scan without problem? If this is not the case, the error changed at all?

I hope hear from you soon!

  • HP Photosmart Premium C410b: could not save the scanned images

I use the HP Scan application and the error message: -.

Could not save the scanned images

appears when you try to save in a folder as a PDF or any other format.

Ironically, if I'm going by sending to the printer and then save to PDF it works!

I checked and I'm using 4.2.2 with El Capitan HP driver software

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

The application from HP for your printer is not compatible with El Capitan, so the output files incorrectly recorded.

In the Hewlett-Packard folder move HP Scan to the trash and empty it.

Before you install and use the HP Easy Scan application below which should save the files correctly:
