Mouse/touchpad does not work on my Satellite C850

Hello

Had problems with the mouse and touchpad on the Satellite C850-19Z.
It turns off after a while. I tried the shortcut on the computer but nothing helped. I called Toshiba and they said to update the laptop.

It worked, and then he cut again a few weeks later then tried what I've been through with guys from Toshiba and nothing happens... I need the laptop for work.

Can anyone help?

It's really amazing that you have the same problem with the touchpad and external mouse. What's more amazing to me is the fact that Toshiba guys were not able to help you with this.

I put t really know what to think about it. Laptop warranty valid for Toshiba service SHOULD help you with this. I put t know if it is possible for you to get the replacement you can continue your work but talk with the guys from services and try to find the solution.

By the way: do you use an external wired mouse or wireless mouse?

You could try a Hard Reset.

Forced to Power Reset - "Hard Reset".

    • Perform the Hard Reset .  Start the computer and connect

Hard Reset is a reset of the driver; This isn't Windows 8 resetting that installs the operating system.  The procedure to hard reset does not erase your files or it destroys your Windows installation somehow.

Why a power reset works to solve some problems:

Hard Reset erases the pilot instructions that generally persist to boot-to-boot.  The Hard Reset is a way to force the computer to read the instructions of drivers and software stored in the operating system.  The compensation action and forcing a new reading on the disk and software drivers can solve some problems.

  • My touchpad does not work well on Satellite C55-A-1ND

For several days my touchpad does not work well. It has nothing to do with the power touchpad button on the F5 key.

The touchpad is most time does not and something a bit but I can't use the touchpad at all now.

When I attach my external mouse on my laptop I can use my laptop otherwise I can't use my laptop.
I already rebooted my laptop several times, but it helps not at all.

I hope someone can help me!

You said that this issue has nothing to do with the touchpad on/off function s.
So what's exactly wrong with the touchpad? Is he disabled or enabled?

Have you checked the settings in the control panel-> mouse-> last (device settings) tab-> settings button?

Have you already tried to reinstall the software/driver for touchpad?
If this is not the case, do.

  • Touchpad does not work on the Satellite A100-812

Hello, I just bought a Toshiba Satellite A100-812 (C. Duo, 2 GB RAM, GF 7600, Vista Premium). I disabled the synaptics driver in msconfig. After a while, I turned on the driver but Touchpad still does not work. All the fn buttons work correctly (turning brightenswith FN + F6 or FN + F7 etc.) but FN + F9 (turning the Touchpad) does not always work.
    Help, please.

    ([email protected])

    Hello

you did a reinstallation of the driver? I think that if you have disabled it with msconfig, it should work after reactivation and otherwise, to remove this driver and install it
Once again. (So the touchpad) driver should be available after reinstalling and restarting Windows.

Would be recognizing a few comments if it worked. :)

    Hello

Fn + F9 does not active / disables the touchpad on laptop series.
The right combination is Fn + F5 or just press F5.

  • Touchpad does not work on the Satellite A100

    Hello

I bought a satellite A100 (PSAA9) and have a problem with my touchpad. For some reason, the keys do not respond sometimes and I have to press the Fn + Alt keys to solve the problem, and it works well. Later, he appears again and I didn't Kow why?

The only thing I can say is whenever I press the key as alt Gr, the touchpad everything is blocked.

In addition, when the keyboard is locked, my mouse is not working well (left click does not respond and do a right click does the same thing as a normal left click). Again, I press Fn + ALT and it's ok.

Hope someone can help me please!

    Thanks in advance!

HM, sounds like a very boring and weird problem. Have you tried to reinstall your system or at least a linux live CD to see if the problem still occurs if you start a different operating systems?

If you didn t tried, then it would be useful. Maybe just a problem of software it s. But if so and the problem doesn´t want to go further, then you have a huge problem and your next step will be to put your machine to an authorized service partner. Why?

Because if so, then you would have probably a hardware problem and you won´t be able to fix it yourself. The explanation is pretty simple and easy...

  • Touchpad does not work on the Satellite L50t-A-131

    All,

My touchpad has stopped working. The light of the little mouse in the upper left corner is off. When I attach an external mouse pointer appears again and everything is fine, when I remove the mouse pointer disappears again.

I accidentally turned off in the past by pressing F5, but that doesn't seem to be the issue this time.

I have recently upgraded to windows windows 8.1 8 and do not know if this may be a factor

    All advice welcome

We start with basic stuff. Touchpad is correctly recognized and listed in the Device Manager?

  • mouse/Touchpad does not work after logging in

I have a Toshiba Satellite with Windows 8, he bought this way, I've had it for about a month, were execution of updates when suggested, there are 2 accounts admin and has a guest. I am currently on the second admin account and the question that is at hand is not the case here, it only happens on the main user/administrator account. When the computer is on the login screen the mouse pointer is visible and the touchpad works, but once I log on the account (even once, it happens only on one account) the Tablet seems to no longer work, and there is no the mouse pointer on the screen. I tried troubleshooting as suggested in answers to similar questions, but he doesn't seem to find the problem. The question was raised today, just before I decided to do an update, once the problem I tried the update, returned a few hours later and the problem is still there. What do I do? Haha, I can not afford to buy a plug-in mouse, or what ever and don't have one currently.

    Hi Jessica,.

What is the model of your laptop?

You can find the drivers on the link below.

    http://support.Toshiba.com/

If you don't get the drivers for Windows 8, then you can try to install drivers available for the earlier version of Windows in compatibility mode.

  • Touchpad does not work on my Satellite C670D - 10 c

    Hi all

    I own a Toshiba Satellite C670D - 10 c with OS installed seven Ultimate (64-bit).
To enable the touchpad I did a lot of things, I've updated the BIOS, I have reset the BIOS, I downloaded Synaptics Touch Pad Driver and installed.

Still today and after my laptop, I am not able to use my touchpad.
Toshiba activate it online? Or how to activate it?

    Thank you very much.

Usually the touchpad should work even when only Win7 is installed without any additional driver.
You can use the key combination FN + F9 to toggle touchpad?
