Move file/folder makes alias?
I have a folder that I had manually copied onto another volume of my current volume. I double checked and taken * ensure that permissions have been set correctly. I can't move things in and out of this folder. Mobile stuff in (manually via the Finder) is no problem. Deletion of things is not a problem. Another application that can make a difference in and delete them works fine.
HOWEVER, sometimes I have to get something out of this folder, so I usually drag the desktop. Oooops, I can't do this, it automatically puts an alias on the desktop.
Why this is happening and what can I do to solve the problem?
Hold down the option key while you drag. It will create a new copy, so you still need to delete the original.

How can I move files to the system folder?
Hi all
I was wondering how to move files to the system folder. With the update to El Capitan and the former program is no longer works and the developer suggests moving some files on the system folder that should fix it, but even if an administrator account I don't have write access to the system-> library folder where they need to go. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Steve
In short: you do not have. The folder/System is only for Apple. The new protections in El Capitan make it impossible for you to place the files.
This is what the folder/library for: install additional components to the system, but keeping them separated from the basic installation.
What software are you trying to run? What files we told you to move? I'm curious to know what type of developer will tell you to put the files in / System.

When I open windows movie maker and click on "importt" I find my photo file and select one of the video clips and try ti import it. I get a message that says "cannot import that movie maker does not recognize the codec. What should I do to get this program to accept my video clips with the .mov file extensions?
Hello PorterQuinn,
Thank you for posting. You will need a 3rd party software program or conversion to convert .mov to another type of file that will be recognized by Movie maker. There are a few conversion tools free availible. You can use your favorite search engine to find some of them.
Please let me know if this helps you.

· I also ran "sfc/scannow", she also returned without error.
· I uninstalled all updates that occurred during the time that this came - tested, the computer and reinstalled them.
· Updates of Windows computer are all up to date.
I have in case I have to move several files, press the button 'Try Again' to each folder that I move. This becomes a big problem.

Hello Greg,.
Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.
I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.
You did any hardware or software changes to your computer before the show.
Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.
This problem may occur because of the corrupted Windows files or incorrect registry settings.
To diagnose the problem, check if the problem occurs in safe mode.
Refer to this article:
Start your computer in safe mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=Windows-7Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.
Please refer to the suggestions of Mr Andersen replied on September 4, 2010 and check the problem with folders.

I want to move the folder Program Files to another hard drive.
I have Windows 7 installed on a small primary partition on one of the two hard drives, double boot with Windows XP. My installation of Windows XP is on a smaller primary partition (like Windows 7) and Program Files folder on a separate drive logic in an extended partition, not on the system drive. I want to make a folder Program Files of Windows 7 on the same logical drive, Program Files and move the Program Files from Windows 7 folder to that partition on the second hard drive.
Just an update. I finally managed to move 'Users' on a separate partition, so my installation of Windows 7 now has Windows on a partition, the files program on a logical drive in an extended partition, and users on a separate logic in this extended partition.
On the Windows partition, there are junctions that point to the logical drive Program Files and the logical drive of users and editing the registry to set these default locations. Windows updates proceed normally and successfully. Program facilities smoothly and work as expected. I'll post my procedures on my site, I hope that in the near future, after that I tested and confirmed their on my other Windows 7 machines.
Be forewarned, however, that this separation will break the ability to repair/reinstall (upgrade on-site) Windows 7. It will stop when he sees that Program Files not are not on the system partition. However, in my particular case, I depend on third-party software disk for backup, Imaging for the loss of this functionality (repair/reinstall) has no real interest for me. Restore a disk image is much faster.
There are other methods posted on the net to separate these main divisions of Windows during the installation. My methods are intended to guide differently to an existing facility while retaining all the features. And once again, as shown in this thread, Microsoft Support seems to discourage that kind of thing.

When I used to click with the right button on a file or folder, I used to see a 'move to folder' with in the list of options, now I no longer do, how can we get this feature? I hate the method drag-and - déposer.
You can add a specific folder (or more) to move files to the right click context menu (but not a general "move to folder" option (because then, he doesn't know which folder you want to move to)). When you select the folder, you can choose something very high in the string as C:\Users\
\Documents (or another specific issue if there is one, you will often need to use) - or you can add several options to cover the bases as much as possible (but not a generic list and opens a dialog where you can choose the folder of your fault). An article with the procedure here: http://www.winvistaclub.com/e11.html. What you really want is contained in the send option in the context menu. It includes the passage to Tolder and/or copy in the file. If not, they can be added as follows: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-copy-to-move-to-on-windows-vista-right-click-menu/. It's an extra click, but it's the features that you are looking and I don't know how to move these features in the menu send to in the main menu (or if it is possible) - I could not find instructions to add these options to the context menu main otherwise than in the option send to. This is why the option send to exist - to do this kind of things.
It may be possible with the procedures described in the link in the first paragraph, but I'm not familiar enough with these products to be sure (and again, I've never seen instructions on how to do and I spent some time looking). I don't think, but I don't know about you. It is certainly not an easier way to do it.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

What happened to the audio from .mov files in Windows Live Movie Maker?
I'm running on Windows Vista Edition family 64-bit. Recently, I downloaded Windows Live Movie Maker and have been playing with it. Can I import my camera Kodak .mov files. However, when I saw or save the movie, there is no audio or the audio has been accelerated so fast, you won't hear scratching noises. Other videos work properly. It's just the .mov files. Can I do to solve this problem?

Problem with Windows Movie Maker 2.6 Re: Save movie file
I get the classic "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, the location of the backup is still available... "Message ETC, but I have a few additional details that I hope will help someone diagnose what might be wrong:
* In fact, when I import video files (imports are in WMV format - I have converted to WMV using iOrgSoft Video Converter), he split the file into several clips of different lengths to seemingly without rhyme or reason (done on my old computer with a different version of WMM too).
Going to the statements in the following format:
FileName_001 FileName_002 FileName_003 FileName_004... etc.
Then, I divided the clips if necessary to isolate the parts I want to drag them to the timeline.
Anyway, through experimentation I found that for each file, I can use all the clips, it was automatically divided in to the last, where I can only use a certain small part of it (the last of them is usually the largest by far) and have it save in a movie file.
So FileName_001, FileName_002, and FileName_003 will all work and save to a movie file in their entirety, and I can use a smaller portion of the FileName_004 and have it record as well. But if I spent a certain point in this last clip (FileName_004), it will not save.
So let's just say that the 8 seconds of FileName_004 can be saved in a movie file. If I try just to save 2 seconds of a value of the element after only the second 8 FileName_004 brand, it will trigger the "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Message to verify that the original source of the files... ».
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I too Movie Maker 2.6 running in Windows 7 (64-bit), and sometimes she would not publish the movie. So today after reading things here, I did some research and found this page:
I removed the Movie Maker 2.6 from my PC and then downloaded and installed Movie Maker 6.0. I opened the last project of 2.6 MM that would not publish the movie in my new 6.0 and clicked on _Publish to this computer_. And it worked. So I tried a larger project which had also failed to publish the movie and it worked again, producing a 40 MB .wmv file.So it seems under MovIe Maker 6.0, designed for Vista, works fine under Windows 7, at least if you download the file shown to Movie Maker Blog of Blaine (Blaine Hat!).BTW, .wmv files, I brought in Movie Maker have been converted to .flv files using a free Quick Media Converter HD download, that I found at cnet.com. I highly recommend it (and its creator, I sent money PayPal).
