Move from Vista to Win 7 - multiple computers
I just bought an another Win 7 Home Premium to upgrade three of my computers Vista to Win7.
Only, I bought a package. How and where to go (url please) I can easily and cheaply buy the
two additional product keys?
Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.
Full version (retail):
-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.
-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.
-Expensive
Upgrade version (detail):
-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.
-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.
-Expensive, but less expensive full version
OEM System Builder version:
The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:
-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft
-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on
-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard
-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system
There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.
You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.
There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

Satellite X 200-219 - move from Vista to Win 7
Hello
at the end of the month I intend to remove Vista from my machine (Toshiba X 200-219) and install Windows 7 Pro with my uni offer now for £30.
In the process, I'm going to save all my data on an external hard drive, then remove everything on portable hard drives 2, and then to change the partitions of the disk (75 GB) c and d ' training (150 GB) and disk (75 GB) f c (150 GB) and d road (150 GB).First of all I want just some information about the modification of partitions according to this (http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operatingsystems/ss/windows-7-clean-install-part-1_15.htm) installation guide for windows 7 it relatively easy as all I do is delete the specific partition (in this case f) and it adds to the first walk c.
I just want to know what is correct or not, or what I need to do something different.Secondly when I am in the phase of the backup operation, I want to have a backup of the vista recovery partition image.
Unfortunately I can't find anywhere on the hard drives. I have activated the hidden folders and still can't find, I know came with the laptop recovery CD is just a driver cd and has no operation on this cd.
Is it possible to request a cd of vista? I have the cd key on the bottom of my laptop to prove I have a genuine copy.I just want to help to have a clean install of windows 7 with partitions of decent sizes on this matter and having to hand a back up of vista is that anything should go wrong.
> I know came with the laptop recovery CD is just a driver cd and has no operation on this cd.
That s bad!
The Toshiba Recovery disk contains image files. The image is a package that contains the Windows operating system (Vista), Toshiba drivers, tools and utilities.
Therefore, backup your personal data only.
The recovery disk will install the Vista and drivers still on your laptop. In addition during the Win 7 installation process, the installer will provide an option to remove or change the size of the partitions
So the easiest way would be to format the entire HARD drive, then create 2 partitions.See you soon

Satellite A300: Move from Vista to Win 7 OS - Upgarde isue
Hi guys,.
I have a Satellite A 300 series laptop PC with Vista Home Premium pre-installed.
I want to swith over to Win7.My question:
(1) if I format 'C' and install Win7 fresh, will I be able to use the recovery disk (stored on 'E') option to boot - recovery option F8 - repair - HDD to swith back to original Vista at any time?
(2) how to ensure that all drivers in particular for all software from toshiba as "Disc Creator", "WLAN", "BT", 'Recovery disc creator', 'Toshiba DVD Utilities', "System Diagnostics" will be mounted like new?
Thanks in advance.
Dimitri
> 1) if I format 'C' and install Win7 fresh, will be that I can use the recovery disk (stored on 'E') option to boot - recovery option F8 - repair - HDD to swith back to original Vista at any time?
No, if you install Windows 7 on the C partition would have replaced the old Vista Boot Manager and disk for Vista recovery option will not be available.
(> 2) how to ensure that all drivers in particular for all software from Toshiba as "Disc Creator", "WLAN", "BT", 'Recovery disc creator', 'Toshiba DVD Utilities', 'System Diagnostics' will be installed as new?
Well, if you install Windows 7 and then the tools mentioned as Recovery Disc Creator or commercial DVD Toshiba could not be used because these done software part if the image only Toshiba! So if you are using Windows 7, you can buy such tools.
All other drivers can be downloaded from the European pilot page Toshiba. -

My Hp Pavilion Elite M9340F desktop PC was the best computer I've ever owned five computers desktop and portable three. Not only use the personal media drive Bay and two bays of lightscribe disc, I upgraded the video card and the power supply because I run also three external hard drives more (which actually a total of six hard drives run continuously). I want to spend all or just possibly the main hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium personal multimedia hard disk. Is it better to buy the disc or download the software? In addition, how is it difficult to make the switch? Even with good backups, I have heard horror stories of losing part or all of the files or have things so scrambled that it is almost impossible to find what you are looking for. ANY help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mr. w. Dillon * address email is removed from the privacy *.
Hello
It's always a good idea to have a paper copy of a disc (for resettlement and repairs).
And Yes, backup all your data as 'can' happen during an upgrade that is supposed to be easy.
This is a very good guide for what you want to do:
Make sure you go from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit to be able to do an upgrade.
«How To Upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium»
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/6892/how-to-perform-an-upgrade-from-Vista-to-Windows-7/
And follow these steps first:
Go to the HP website and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.
Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.
Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 21.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible, the settings in the software security and cleaning of the Windows registry.
- Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you will lose all personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep problems also create a new profile.

I'm doing an upgrade on my computer from vista to windows 7.
Am a little confused about the need to "transfer" of data to an external source.
What is a precautionary measure, used to retrieve the data if something terrible happens?
Or is it that, after the upgrade to windows 7, the data is then "transferred", back on the computer newly improved?
Windows Update has nothing to with the upgrade of Windows. Move from vista to windows from one computer to another
My brother has installed Windows 7 Enterprise on my way of thinking a laptop girls that product key could go on another computer. It did not work. Now I have Windows 7 (not authentic) here. I have another computer that has Windows Vista on it, but the computer is slow and not used often. How do I uninstall Vista slow computer and then install on the laptop with the same product key? I don't have the Vista disc more either. I called Microsoft assistance, they wanted to charge me $60.00 to guide me through it. I already bought the software, just lost the disc. All I want to do is transfer from one computer to the other. Thanks for any help you can give me.

If you have used the license system / operating of Vista as part of the Windows 7 upgrade process: No.

Re: Downgrading satellite A210-1AS from Vista to WIN XP

Tecra R10-11 b move from Vista to XP
Hello
Got my Tecra new, very nice!
In addition it has Vista and my company uses Lotus notes and 99.9% are XP so if I need help, I'm in trouble!
I have the disc, which says it is the recovery of the product (top) and Windows XP Professional (bottom)
I put the disc in but nothing not jumps saying me Windows XP
Can you anyone help me to get rid and welcome back XP :-)
Thank you
D tHello
If you have received a disk of Windows XP Toshiba Recovery then you should be able to downgrade the Tecra for Win XP OS.
You must know that the Toshiba Recovery disk is not the same as the original Windows XP disc! The recovery disk, you can find image files. In order to start the recovery procedure, you will have to boot from that disk.
But note; the whole HARD disk may be formatted! So if necessary backup data first!See you soon
