Move the desktop icons after the release of the games

First of all, I would like to say that I read this question and answer: http://goo.gl/MkSVA but I think I have a scenario different some - which may require a different response.

When I'm in a game and I want to leave a moment, I press Ctrl + ESC to get to my office. on most games, this doesn't cause any problems. On some games, when I'm on the desktop my icons have been moved. Running the game I play on the correct resolution.
My resolution is 1366 x 768, and I have a second monitor which is 1024 x 768. I think that the second screen resolution may be the cause of the problem.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
When I unplug my second monitor, I can see the icons on my desktop get smaller so I know that the monitor is something the resolution of my laptop screen.
Please help me solve this problem!

What you need is a decent multi-screen utility... so much better than struggling with simple tools... There are trial versions...

Make sure that Firefox is installed correctly.
Open the image (DMG) disk Firefox with a double-click if necessary file and drag the Firefox program folder of the application on your hard drive.
You should not double-click the Firefox application to run from the disk image and drag it out of the DMG file instead.

  • Satellite L550 - square black on the desktop icons after upgrading to Windows 7

    Hi people.

Don't know if Windows 7 has simplified our PC as Microsoft would have us believe. I spent the last two days trying to understand why my L550 has suddenly square black on my desktop icons.

What happens after the installation of Microsoft, application of a software patch updates for a HP deskjet 5150 printer. To be honest, I'm more sure when this nuisance hits me.

Resolution true color (32 bit) upward in color (16 bit) downgrade rid my icons of black squares. Should I therefore settle for a lower resolution when my laptop can do better? Any workaround yet?

    Hey, Mambo,

What exactly are you installing if you visit the Windows Update page? Maybe you install a different display driver that isn't compatible with the graphics card.
    Check this box!

Also, make sure that the new display on the site of Toshiba driver is installed.

Is the software patch for your printer that is compatible with Windows 7?

    Hello

Welcome to the Forums Community Microsoft and thanks for posting the question.

According to the description, you get an error message "FAILED CONNECTION USER INIT" after installing Windows updates.

From my research, this problem occurs if the Userinit key in the Windows registry has been changed. For example, this problem may occur if the Userinit key has a value, but no binary data.

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

    Method 1:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Step 2: Check the value and binary Userinit registry data

Important: The following instructions contain the steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information, view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    Back up the registry
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

    a. start Registry Editor. To do this, click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. click continue.

    c. Locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    d. in the right pane, right-click Userinit, and then click change.

    e. in the value data box, type hard disk:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe, and then click OK.

Note: The placeholder of the hard drive refers to the drive on which Windows Vista is installed.

    f. close the registry editor.

    g. restart the computer.

    Method 2:

Restore the system to an earlier point before installing this application.

System Restore can return your files system to a point in time before you noticed a problem, without affecting documents, photos, or other personal files. If the system restore does not resolve the problem, you can undo the restore operation and choose a different restore point.

  • How to remove the desktop icon after you have uninstalled program.

I uninstalled a program and then tried to put the icon on the desktop to the trash.  I get an error message that says that the program cannot be found and try again.  How can I get rid of the icon?

    Hello

Reboot and see if the icon is still there. If so, try the following:

Go to control panel/Folder Options, view tab, set the options so that you can see the hidden files and folders and show protected operating system files. You should now be able to see a desktop desktop.ini file. Delete and restart. See if that helps.

I recently installed windows 7 on my desktop, thought everything was good.  Sometimes, when the computer is powered on or after he wake mode in standby, the toolbar icons and desktop disappear.  The bottom rises and I can right click for options.  It still allows me to use most of the options when I right click, but that's all I can do.  I can't access the toolbar, Ctrl alt delete is that the black screen (nothing happens after that). But it happens that all the other time, or so when I turn on the computer.  If I run a cd boot everything works fine. I'm running vista, and I made a custom, Setup because the upgrade was not an option.  I also tried to boot from the cd and do a repair, but the problem is still intervene.  I made sure that everything has been updated before I did the installation and followed all the instructions.  I did all the updates that are available for installation (when I can get the operating system works).  Any thoughts?

If you still experience this issue, you can try these things and then let us know the results.

First off I would say running a different virus scanner to ensure that nothing achieved by your installed one.  You can use the Onecare Safety Scanner or there are many other free around.

    Then run the following:

  • Desktop icons Windows 7 converted at each reboot

Windows 7 reorganizes my desktop icons after each reboot or after coming out of standby/hibernation.

I am running Windows 7 Build 7100 on a laptop Dell Latitude D830 completely standard (which includes a nVidia Quadro NVS 140 M graphics controller). All drivers are clean windows; I have not replaced all the drivers with vendor-specific versions.

I'm not using a KVM, I'm not using a projector or external monitor, and I never change the resolution of the screen. It couldn't be simpler: I start, move my desktop icons to where I like them, working for a few hours and closed. On the next reboot half of the desktop icons have been moved. There are no error messages or a warning during startup or shutdown, so no reason to explore should be unhappy.

Clearly, this is a bug. But what is the workaround?

    original title: the desktop icons

I have Windows 7 and when I manually move some icons on the left side of the screen to the right of the screen... they stay there.  I entered the office properties and click on the appropriate buttons.  Everything's fine until I restart the computer.  The strange thing is that only a couple of icons that were positioned on the right side are now on the left side.  I and then pull them to the right and everything is OK until the next reboot and we start over again.  What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

Try this tutorial. It worked for me when I had Vista 32 bit. I used to have more than 150 shortcuts on deskops, and they tended to move 'by themselves' as you said. This tutorial below worked for me.

Note: the tutorial is done for Vista 32 bit.

Is a 64-bit installation program which I have not tried. I can't guarantee that.
