Movement of backup itunes

I want to move my itunes backup everything from an old computer (under windows) to another computer (Windows) with an external HARD drive.

Can I do this?

If you are referring to the backup of an iOS device, click here, locate the backup file and drag - copy in the desired location.

If you are referring to backup an iTunes library or the working copy, and then drag the entire library to the desired location, launch iTunes with the SHIFT key is pressed and select it. Rentals in it only can be played only on the computer that they were originally uploaded to.

  • Move all backups and iTunes library to external storage

    Hi all

My MBP internal SSD is full so I want to move all the data from iTunes to external storage.

I found how to move the library which was pretty easy.

How can I move my backup files to iPad and iPhone? It seems to be more difficult to achieve.

    Thanks in advance

    Not difficult, read here:

    Two things to remember:

the first time you open iTunes after move your library: hold down the ALT (option) and iTunes point to where you put the library on the external drive. iTunes will remember that.

  • About movies in the Itunes store

If I download a movie from the itunes movie store, will be the name of the film and the film awards go to my messages or that the price of the film will go to my messages but not tell the name of the movie? By example, if I upload deadpool the message will indicate that I downloaded deadpool and the price which is 14.99, or the price which is 14.99? Thank you

If you mean the receipt by e-mail, then it will tell you the name of the element (film title), "artist" (the name of the Director, I think), the type of item (for example, HD movie, SD film) and the price (plus applicable taxes)

  • Trying to remove movies to mac/itunes/i don't know.

Trying to remove movies to mac/itunes/i don't know. Im trying to get free space on my hard drive so I was removing the movies that I bought on iTunes. Ive tried to go the iTunes account > bought > by clicking on the top left corner x. Ive tried entering the film and remove it and send the file to the trash, and I deleted the Recycle Bin when the movies were there. Yet whenever I connect they re download even if they are not displayed in my purchase. If someone knows something to try to help me please. Thank you

Under account > bought is only the history of your purchases.  Nothing is stored on your computer, or it takes any storage space on your computer...  It is simply a list of your past purchases you can redownload if you had to do in the future.

You cannot delete anything from your purchase history, nor do you need to.

  • Nobody told me that if I bought a Mac Mini I could only watch movies purchased from iTunes on a Mac monitor. Someone else meets who?

Nobody told me that if I bought a Mac Mini I could only watch movies purchased from iTunes on an Apple Mac monitor. Anyone else encounter this sneaky thing?

If you see some kind of error message, then it would be much more informative to post rather than immediately jumping to jump of paranoid conspiracy theory.  If you see no messages about it here then probably it is something very specific to your installation because I do not know there are tens of thousands of people out there using non-Apple monitors.

  • I forgot the password for backup iTunes, how to do now?

I accidentally deleted some contacts and SMS on my iPhone 6 during the cleaning of the unit. I backed up my iPhone a few days before. So I had planned to restore the items deleted from the iTunes backup. However, when I restore my iPhone with iTunes, it asks me to enter a password. I tried some more used by myself, but without a bit of luck.

Is it possible to restore my iPhone from the iTunes backup?

    Hello

If you forgot your password for encrypted backup itunes, the only thing you can do is remove the encrypted backup find and manage your backups iTunes - Apple Support.

After that just who go on your iphone in Settings - General - reset - Reset all settings.

When you have completed these steps, you should be able to create the new backup without encrypt or implement the new password for encryption you will know.

    I hope this will help!

  • move the backup on NAS drive

So far, my Win7 backup location has USB hard drive (removable).

Now, I've attached this USB drive to NAS, and he appears as a shared folder on NAS, with all the necessary permissions.
I map a drive letter to this drive (contact network now), the SAME drive as the drive letter when he was locally connected (USB).
Unfortunately, Backup does not recognize that my backup drive existing ("Windows cannot find the drive or network location where your backups are saved")...

Of course, I can now start a new game of this NAS-attached disk backup, but there not a way to let Windows know that it's the same hard drive as before (with the same drive letter), except that it is now attached to my NAS (network share) instead of being locally connected (USB)?
In addition, I would like to be able to backup to this player in both cases at different times: when the backup disk is connected locally via USb, or when it is attached to the NAS.
Is this possible or am I just too much to ask?

  • How can I restore backup iTunes library?

I have a Macbook Pro that I just reimagee with Yosemite.  I copied the folder iTunes backup to the new image (60 GB) but the only thing that sees iTunes's songs, movies, etc. that I bought on the iTunes store.  What should I do to restore my entire library and playlists?

Did you put it back exactly in the same place with the default name?  If this isn't the case, hold down the option/ALT key at startup of iTunes and select the .itl file in the iTunes folder.

  • Move the large Itunes library to QNAP nas

I have a very large iTunes library (28000 + tracks) and move it to a QNAP TS119 nas (disc), so as to add titles to my library my SONOS system can access without the need for my Mac to be marketed.

My question, where should I put on the NAS and what is the best way to transfer files?

When the files are on the NAS I just point itunes to that folder on the NAS Server?

And finally if all goes wrong I can simply point itines in the original file on the Mac.

I have other forms of return such as external hard drives, a time machine WD as well as a sharecentre from D-Link (2 Bay) which I am also faced with.

    Thank you very much.

Moving a library: quick response if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/ALT key to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder.

Or you can move only the media: 12 iTunes for Mac: change where are stored the iTunes files - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH19507

With a NAS you live with some risk. iTunes and NAS not always play well together and there are regular positions here where file locations is stripped completely with use NAS (I think this has something to do with the NAS software).  During an iTunes update can cause complete failure of the library when on a NAS to what NAS manufacturers publish a software update.  If you use the NAS I suggest you use a hard drive regularly to store your library and use the NAS for backup.  If you use the NAS, I would put the entire library on it, not only the multimedia files.

  • Is it possible to send a backup itunes to icloud?

    Sounds random, but here's why...

Old iphone went nut should therefore take to apple to be fixed and it wiped (I backed up on mac before). The fix did not work, so they replaced handset and im new with this one and can recover most of the things I need quite simply, except for one thing... (priceless) notes!

My thought is that all my notes are from the itunes backup, but I don't want to just back the notes, so if I could somehow that transfers upwards to icloud, I could just pick the notes and boom! happy days :-)

You can't choose what specific data to restore from a backup.
