Movement of mouse Satellite A100-283, floating screen / mouse 'split '.

Suddenly the screen started nervously floating strongly different images. When I Park the mouse / cursor in a corner or the far sides of the screen, the heartbeat stops.
When the cursor is parked in one of the corners of the screen, it appears "divided" into 2 lines.
I can't use the computer.

Tried to download the display driver, but it has no effect.

Would appreciate any help.

PS: Computer luckily not deleted, any liquid by chance, he just started this floating during surfing of 1 second.

Thank you, everyone!
Peter

Hi Peter

To be honest, I can't imagine what is happening exactly.
Can you please tell us what operating system do you use?
I presume that you can see this problem when the OS is fully charged, no?

The same happens when you start Windows in safe mode?

    Hello

I just got an old Toshiba Satellite A100-283 and tried to connect it to a TFT 22 ". Somehow, it seems that this laptop graphics card does not support the external screen such as 1920 x 1080 resolutions. I find 16:9 1920 x 1440 resolutions and such but not at all.
Is - anyone here know if there is a way to get this notebook running on an external display in 16:9?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Heike

    Hey Buddy,

You can change the screen resolution to the 16:9 format when you remove the brand to hide modes that this monitor cannot display as [THIS | http://blog.wildvista.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Lightroom_hide_modes-340x400.png] photo?

  • Satellite A100 - 283 Linux is ready?

    Hi @all.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-283 still running on Windows XP Pro SP3.
I want to change OS to a Linux dist.

    Is this laptop ready Linux?
Or are there missing and/or hardware drivers not supported?

What OS is compatible? SUSE? (K) ubuntuu? Fedora?

    Thanks for the replies.

If your hardware is compatible with Linux or a Linux distribution, you can see the site of the factory.
For example on the RedHat site Web is a list of compatible hardware:
    https://hardware.redhat.com/

On the site of Suse if also found such a list:
    http://en.openSUSE.org/hardware

You can also check if your hardware is compatible with a Live CD. You can get a lot of distribution and so you can see if this distribution is compatible with your laptop.

  • Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE - screen turns off automatically

    Hi friends,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE with windows visa Home Basic edition.
Now for 15-20 days I am facing a strange problem. The screen of the laptop emits a sometimes (not necessarily every time) and then when the frequency increases the display turns off automatically!
Then I must Hibernate or he put laptop to sleep to find again the screen... Seriously, I don't understand the problem.

    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Julie,.

It sounds as if something is harming your graphics driver causing the display to turn off. If the problem occurs only when you use certain applications or only started after installing a new application you may need to restore your system to a restore point before new applications have been installed. As a test, you can try to start your system in safe mode and see if the problem persists.

I also recommend that you re-install your graphics drivers to see if it improves the problem.

Other possibilities are that your graphics chip is a failure or overheating causing this problem in which case you have to return your laptop to a Service approved for the additional diagnostic agent.

My last thought is that you may have a problem with the inverter FL (the component that provides the lighting of your LCD screen). Check, when the screen turns off, if you can still see a residual image on the screen. If yes then the FL inverter is definitely at fault.

    Kind regards

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If it appears the following steps once again. :

You need to reinstall Windows with recovery disk (disk image hard F) or copy of Windows disk is the best solution in your case, fixing the problem will receive more time.

  • Re: Satellite A100 and Win7 - screen is not appropriate in all of the screen

    Nice day

I upgraded my Satellite A100-232 yesterday to Windows 7 32 bit. The installation went according to plan and installed everything perfectly. My problem I encounter is that the screen only covers 75% of the screen. The resolution is 800 x 600 and I changed it to 1024 x 768. Does the screen a little bigger, but still no connection in the entire screen.

Can someone please help with this problem?

    Thanks in advance

This model of laptop is supported for Win7?
You have downloaded and installed the right driver?

By the way: what A100 exactly do you have?

  • Satellite A100-192: blue screen during the installation of Adobe Premiere

Hi, I need some help ASP...

Try to install the first pro, but I got a bluescreen scrable.
Can this program somehow in this laptop? any help is welcome...
    Thank you...

    Hi Theodor,

I suggest that you try to reinstall your copy of Adobe Premiere, and if you still get the blue screen when trying to take note of the error message, since this will give you some clues as to the nature of the problem.

If the blue screen appears too fast and forces the phone to reboot then just right click on the 'My computer' icon and select 'Properties', then click on the "Advanced" tab and in the "Startup & recovery" section click the "Settings" button In the next under the title of "System failure" screen make sure that the option restart automatically is not checked.

  • Satellite A100-906 - black screen with a cursor

    Hi all

There is a problem with my Satellite A100-906:

After having lit - Toshiba page appears - that the loading Windows XP page - more than a black screen with a cursor (the touchpad moveable)... and nothing more.

That's what I tried without success:

Detach the battery for over an hour
Start the computer with battery detached
    Change the default BIOS settings
Start in Safe Mode - the same black screen with 'safe mode' legends in the 4 corners of the screen.

    Please help with this.

    Hello

According to your message, the screen of the laptop BIOS is visible and also the Windows screen.
I think that it s not a hardware problem but a software problem.
Maybe your operating system is confusing until you think about using the Toshiba Recovery disk and to restore the system?
I mean you already tried the passage without danger and she didn't so in my opinion, the next step should be the new installation of the OS

  • Satellite A100-283 - does not start every time so I've created workaround

    Hey guys,.

I have a problem with my A100-283. A few weeks ago the laptop just hung and I stopped it the hard way by removing just the battery (I know, bad idea, shouldn't have done...)

After that it wouldn't start. Or through battery with the adapter is plugged. There was no more noise fan, or beep or anything like that, just a few LEDs + turn signals for a fraction of a second (capslock + numlock and some of the front LEDs).

The next day I tried again - and it booted up fine, everything seemed to work again. But off it again the same problem appeared.
Now there is no more guarantee on the A100, so I disassembled and welded in a new BIOS battery because I thought that this could be the problem.
    After reassembling, the problem remains.

    * But now I found a 'solution' to get the boot the laptop upward once again, *.
It is just that it's really annoying to have to do this every time you start. Sometimes it always starts in the usual way, I think that it always depended on time, it has been turned off. The book has been extinguished, more lucky to start normally.

But back to the workaround. I press the power button, the LEDs blink in no time. I continue to press the button, and after 5 seconds or more, the LEDs blink once (I think that the laptop lights somehow without any fan noise or anything, and if I continue to press on, it stops again). After that, I always do it by pressing the button for 10 seconds. Subsequently, I release her and push it again and it will start up just as it should. This method works 10 out of 10 times.

Now, someone please tell me, is it possible to run the normal way?
An update of the BIOS might help? My BIOS version is 2.00.

Please do not come upwards with the support from Toshiba, as I already don't said, no guarantee, then it would probably be cheaper to buy just one more...

    Hope someone has an idea.

    > More book was off, more a chance to start normally
Perhaps this problem could be related to overheating I mean if the temperature of parts would be more raised then usual, then such question could appear

Unfortunately, but it's the only plausible explanation for me

The issue could also well be linked to the motherboard failure, everything is possible

But I see you don't want to hear about ASP and laptop technicians. Well in this case, you will have to diagnose the failure yourself

    Good luck

  • Satellite A100 - 383 PSAARE - screen flashes on then off

    Dear all,

    I have a problem with my pc (a PSAARE 100 383 Satellite).
I've updated to Windows 7 recently. A few days after the screen started blinking and turning off after the connection.
There is no way of next turn (not Fn + F5). The problem has worsened and I could not display at all.
I managed to connect the pc to the TV and I did the following:

1 reinstalled Windows 7. + It seemed to improve but a few hours after you reinstall the problem reappeared.
    2. retrograde to Vista. + Same as before but it seems to be more stable.

I use a cooling for pc support. I don't know what do.
Can someone give me a hint on what to do to fix this?
If it's a hardware problem would be to fix?

Thank you all in advance for your help.

    Kind regards!

    Hello

You mean that the works display for a while and then it goes black?
Have you tried a different display driver?

Have you noticed a higher temperature while this problem appear?
Higher temperatures could affect the GPU.
You can try to clean the modules of cooling using a jet of compressed air.
    This would keep going down.

    Okky Reagds

The fact is that both applications are part of the recovery image, and these applications are available if you plant only settings. They cannot be downloaded and installed as well.

If you want to have them again, you must install OS using Toshiba DVD recovery.

  • Satellite A100-003 - flickering screen then shows black alone

My Toshiba has been flashed with the latest available v6.00 BIOS and has a geforce go 7600 gpu.
About 2 weeks ago the screen started to Flash and loud gray lines have appeared, momentarily, in the days that the problem has increased in frequency and the screen shows black only, but the backlight is turned on.

If the LCD screen stays off for a few hours it works again, but after awhile the same behavior occurs. More I connected to an external monitor and everything works fine. Any ideas?
Also I would ask, in case I have to change the screen LCD which is currently (15.4 @ 1280 x 800) would be possible to replace it with a higher resolution as we shape the Tecra line (15.4 @ 1680 x 1050)?

    Hello

    > Also I connected to an external monitor and everything works fine. Any ideas?
This would mean that the graphics card is ok and the problem is caused by another party. Otherwise, the external monitor would show the same behavior

If the following parts likely to be affected:
    Cable - LCD
    UPS - FL
    -LCD itself

If another LCD would be difficult to say because only a technician of the laptop can give you 100% sure answer but is important s has the same size of screen (15.4) and the same type of connector. A higher resolution might work, but there is no guarantee in this regard.

So before doing something wrong ask a technician for assistance if laptop screen would be compatible.

  • Satellite A100-495 - black screen after installing Windows XP Home edition recovery

After the recovery and download of updates and the XP operating system that the screen remains black, bios does not start, and XP does not start.

    What can I do?
    A I press a certain key combination?
How can I reset the laptop again?

    Who can help quickly?

    Hello Ralf

Stand by. If I understand you just your laptop does not work.

What happen exactly when you press the power button / stop? You don't see anything on the screen? You see Toshiba welcome screen.
    Power is ON?
    Is there a any reaction?

Remove the battery and leave the laptop for some time, connect the power supply only and try to start it again.
To be honest, this whole thing is strange. Recovery image installation is not responsible for this kind of behavior. Have you done something else that may be responsible for this?

  • Satellite A100-521 - white screen but the laptop works through external monitor

The laptop above belongs to a friend of mine. Please can you advise if the screen is defective or possibly backlight?

The laptop is a standard specification that is running xp home.

I agree with Akuma. There must be a hardware problem.
Of course, it is not easy to say with certainty what can be the problem.
    LCD
    FL inverter
    Display cable
    Who knows?

Visit nearest service Ant that they test your laptop. they can say with certainty what the problem is here.
