  However, if I move the folders containing images of problem on my desktop (iMAC 27 2015) in Lightroom external editor command change... works very well. The images open with Nik Collection and Photo of affinity and save in Lightroom when save. Everyone knows about this problem? And if you have, is there a resolution?

  Looks like I solved my problem with Lightroom. I disassembled my external backup drive, but upheld the disk external drive containing the photos up and then restarted my mac. After the reboot, I open Lightroom and chose the image on an external drive for mounting in affinity Photo and Collection of Nik. Both image successfully opened in editors. I reassembled the backup drive and rebooted time machine and repeated the same opening picture in external editors. Once again, works great. Have no idea where the original problem. Looks like a bad path was stored in a config somewhere file.

  Right-click (Ctrl-click on Mac) on a parent folder and choose the location of the update folder.

  Then navigate to where your photos are stored.

  Changing the iTunes media folder location setting affects only where new additions to your library will be stored.  To use a disk external drive to store your library complete (and assuming that you have access to the original data of the library on an old computer) you must copy the iTunes folder, by default in C:\Users\username\Music, on the external drive - structure library and its records should be like this:

  JPEG images being dragged over to Photoshop are veiwable as thumbnails on the external hard drive.  However back to the DNG RAW images are not visible.  Anyway is to visualize images of type external hard disk?  It would be nice to get a glimpse of what you make in Lightroom simply looking on the external hard drive you can with JPEG files.

  The library, just click on the import button and navigate to your folder on the EHD. Choose the folder and click Add at the top of the dialog box. You should see thumbnail previews in the import dialog box where you can select what to import.

  I am pleased to announce that the project has been successfully completed. Thanks to the advice of everyone. That's what I did:

  Some new pictures, asking them to be stored in a subfolder created in the new external hard drive G: has imported. This issue, namely "My LR Photos", is intended to store all my photos in LR in the future. I thought that this will force the G: drive is displayed on the Panel in my LR records. He did.

  Then, in the LR on the Control Panel folder, I moved each subfolder of C: drive for the new folder photo in G:. All photos moved smoothly with their predetermined data intact. None should be reconnected to the original sound.

  I relaunch LR several times to make sure it works and you have no problem at all. It seems to work faster now too.

  Hi Robert!

  Looks like you want to make a backup during import. If this is the case, you can designate a different location for a second copy when importing.

  

  1. Check the mark a second copy of box in the management of the files Panel and choose your external drive in the menu drop-down
  2. Then you set regular destination of Lightroom in the Destination panel.

  However, if you mean that you want in the foreground images in Lightroom, but have them physically located on an external drive, then all you need to do is choose this drive in the Destination panel. Lightroom Catalog can be on a different drive.

  I find it useful, however, to use the automatic backup in file management Panel in case.

  If you want to turn outside your library in a referenced library, with the originals on the external hard drive, you can not do it by duplicating the library if your original library is managed. Does not support photos to transform photos managed in referenced. The only way to make a photo referenced must import it such that referenced.

  You can do the following:

  • Export all the photo you want to move to a second library to your external drive.
  • Then, create an empty library on your internal drive and import the photos exported to this library with the preference "import. Copy items to the library' for disabled people.
  • Delete all the photos in your library that you moved to your new library referenced iCloud.
  • Keep a backup copy of your original library on your external drive, so that you can revert to the original version, if you made a mistake.

  I have a brand new HP Pavilion Windows 7 Home Premium desktop/8 GB memory/1 terabyte hard drive. Just hung up 3 days ago, and after installing my software, attempted to perform a full backup with the image of a brand new Toshiba Canvio 500 GB external hard drive. I get 0x8078012D error code, without interruption.  I did a check on the external hard drive disk, and it was good. I did a check for virus on the external hard drive, and that was good. I have triple checked the settings for backup and they are as I want them to be. -What is the Toshiba external hard drive or my bad nine HP desktop computer?  I had to call HP tech support yesterday as 2 programs, I had already installed has stopped working, but also Java and Adobe Flash Player. HP technical support was not only bad in his work, but right has supported up and hard with me and talked to me. I told her to give me control of my computer and down the phone that I reported him. He wrecked settings that I had, I did a system restore on the eve of the appellant, which was day 2 of owning the new pc.   The usual advice is to put the catalog on the fastest disk file, that you have, which would probably be your C: drive.

  The only reason that you would put the file catalog on an external drive is if you need portability... to use the catalog on another computer. In this case, I would NOT recommend putting the catalog file in the folder "Images" of external drives. Put somewhere else on this disc.
