  Moving a library: quick response if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/ALT key to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder.

  With a NAS you live with some risk. iTunes and NAS not always play well together and there are regular positions here where file locations is stripped completely with use NAS (I think this has something to do with the NAS software).  During an iTunes update can cause complete failure of the library when on a NAS to what NAS manufacturers publish a software update.  If you use the NAS I suggest you use a hard drive regularly to store your library and use the NAS for backup.  If you use the NAS, I would put the entire library on it, not only the multimedia files.

  I need help to identify the right Windows 2003 SP2 32-bit driver for an unknown device in the Device Manager on a HP DL380 G7 server.  I have attached a screenshot.  The only information than the other, is that the device can be a PCI ISA device.

  I found the problem, it's actually in a HP ProLiant Pack driver called: cp010950.exe attached is the image of the named driver: HP NULL IPMI Controller Driver for Windows 2003 version 1.0.0.0

  I get repeated calls from this phone number 855-805-8326 claiming they are Microsoft and they should have access to my computer, so they can fix the reported problems, they have received.   My current setup is a macbook with an external hard drive to the iTunes library. I just bought a new Macbook Pro and am about to transfer my library from anywhere on my new computer. I have a very large iTunes library and I would like to be able to access it from my laptop, iPhone and iPad using Plex, Sonos or similar to primarily play music around my house. I won't have my Macbook Pro on all the time to play the music.

  Rather than copy my iTunes through library to my new Macbook Pro, I intend to:

  1 copy my current iTunes library to a NAS drive

  2. set the destination folder to iTunes on my new MacBook Pro on the NAS drive

  What is the correct procedure? Are there problems that? Does anyone have suggestions better?

  Drag the iTunes folder everything from the old computer to the NAS. Launch iTunes on the new computer while holding down the option/alt key and when prompted choose the iTunes Library.itl file in the iTunes on the NAS folder.

  The NAS must be on and wake up before from iTunes or the computer will forget the location of the library file and you use the option + method again.

  Some like the idea of a SIN to do what you want to do but iTunes and NAS don't do not always play very well together.  Make sure that you keep good backups against the day you post here saying that your iTunes library everything is a mess and you try to play a track and something completely different once. or etc, etc.

  I don't know about all of these interfaces you mention.  If you are hosting the music to an iPhone an iPhone can not read directly a NAS and you must have iTunes running to serve the media.

• Help!  Large iTunes library split into two locations, how to fix?

  Long ago, I told iTunes to store its iTunes Media on a NAS file and I copied the iTunes folder all my D: to the NAS unit.  I also said iTunes to keep organized records and copy files of music added to the NAS.

  I just found out by examining the XML file that iTunes thinks about half of my music files (~ 7,000 of them) are located on the D: drive and other ~ 7 000 are there where I want it all, on the NAS.  Number of files on the NAS which I however contained artist/album music files are empty; the files appear to have been erased and are still on the D: drive where the XML points to them.  Management of iTunes files (XML. ITL, etc..) iTunes is now current are also on the D: drive... those on the NAS are not kept up to date.

  I thought my massive library - countless hours to rip my CD - safe on the multi-plate RAID NAS.  Goes, if I lose my D: drive (which I was backup is no longer) I lose half of my library and all of my iTunes administrative folders.  Ouch!

  How can I get safely iTunes exclusively use the SIN for all the data files and of the administration?

  If I re - copy data from D: to the NAS and edit the XML file to point to the NAS for all files, iTunes will not even watch D: for the management of the library?  How can I do forget d everything?

  By modifying the file XML will not help at all - iTunes only writes to this file, the bed ever.  Assuming that all of your media plays correctly then you should be able to consolidate your library (file > library > organize library > consolidate files).  This will copy all the multimedia files that are not in the iTunes media folder location specified in Edit > Preferences > advanced to this location.  Note, however, that many reports suggest that iTunes + SIN is not an ideal combination; You can be better to use a standard external drive for your library and use the NAS device for backups.  You can also watch the advice to user turingtest2 on do a split cell library for more details on the optimization of available to your library.
