MPLS TE tunnel broadband bandwidth and ip rsvp bandwidth

I have a few questions about how to reserve bandwidth in MPLS TE environment.

1. we need IP RSVP bandwidth in any concern in MPLS TE environment interface, right?

2. What is the purpose of ip rsvp bandwidth?

3 tunnel MPLS traffic engineering connection XXX, the define command band bandwidth flow initiated by head, if sending more than XXX flow, how it works? Drop excessive packet in the stream?

Any point is welcome! Thank you!

Hello

(A1) to the right.

A2) with the "ip rsvp bandwidth" it indicates how much bandwidth on an interface can be booked by MPLS TE tunnels.

A3) characteristic misuderstood most probably is MPLS TE. It is a pure function of the control plan. So, there's comparison of reserved bandwidth compared to actual bandwidth used or nocheck.

You can configure an MPLS TE tunnel with 1 Kbps ("mpls traffic engineering tunnel 1") and send 10 Gbps on the way and NONE will be given.

Where there is an interface in the path, that is supported, then packets will be handled independently having a tag to tunnel or not.

You might ask: what the point of MPLS TE, then if I have can´t give guarantees of bandwidth with it? Answer: MPLS allows YOU a selection more complex and controllable path in MPLS environment. In addition features such as Fast ReRoute (FRR) are interesting.

I hope this helps! Please note all messages.

Regards, Martin

  • MCU4500 series and Polycom HDX broadband bandwidth interop

    Hello!

    A customer brought it to my attention and I was not able to determine a good reason for it yet.  First of all, here are the settings;

    -MCU4515 4.4 (3.49) running

    -Polycom HDX (a 7000 and a 8000) running 3.03

-MCU and endpoints registered to a Porter, no bandwidth restrictions (they say)

    -calls to 1.2 M

    -MCU call termination points, H323

When connecting endpoints HDX, the incoming bandwidth for the MCU is half of the outgoing bandwidth to the HDX.  I can't find any setting in the MCU which has an effect any on this.  By default the settings of bandwidth on the MCU (inbound and outbound) are set more than the real call rate.

I tried to test with a 4.4 (3.49) running of the MCU4510 and two Cisco endpoints (EX90 C90), endpoint and saved for a VCS and the MCU points not saved.  The incoming and outgoing call, rate stays.

Y at - it no unpublished data of interop MCU which has a reference to this issue?  The customer said that wasn't a problem when the MCU was at 4.2 (1.50).

    Thank you!

Thanks Bob.  The reason why this is happening now is that MCU had some previous issues by honoring the bitrates etc..  This problem has been fixed in MCU 4.4 under CSCuh81255.

When HDX calls, it always opens LC for ExtendedVideoCapability at the beginning of every call.  This leaves MCU to split the BW cut in two for hand and when the system wants to send the contents of the content.  Given that the already contained open HDX channel to MCU, MCU must reserve the quantity of bioweapons for content when the HDX decides to send and do not exceed 1.25 meg in your case.

I hope that makes sense to you...

Let me know if it doesn't.

  • How big are the CC apps? Broadband bandwidth maxed out and cassГ Web site!

Try installing Adobe CC apps today maxed out the bandwidth for all of the company AND brought back to our Web site. Some information on the size of the files before you start would have been useful. We have now without coverage of design because I have to wait until after hours to install the new software, otherwise no one else in the company can use the internet! We are not a small business - it is a large desk with 250 people.

Each of the applications weighs about 1 GB, others less, some a little more. If you are really big, create a deployment package for a basic installation.

    Hello

where is the VPN feature / passthru for a vpn connection? I don't use a lot of routers, and it must be called something else. any help much appreciated.

The BEFSR41 nor the WRT54G have a VPN server. They don't support VPN. You can only run your own VPN server inside your LAN and to connect to one.

  • NAT Loopback: Low broadband bandwidth

    Hello

I have a first generation WNDR4500 as my lan, behind the internet gateway router.

There is a server on the LAN and some customers (smartphones, computers) access from the LAN and WAN by using the internet domain name.

I recently discovered that the bandwidth is very low, while the client devices are on the local network. When I change the server details on devices with a LAN IP address, the network speed is available. Therefore, I think that the loopack on the WNDR4500 NAT function does not work correctly and that it reduced the available less than 1 Mbps bandwidth. The internet connection is down: 40mbits / Up: 8 Mbit.

I checked the QOS settings and everything seems fine, for example no. changes when inputing a lot on internet bandwidth.

    Has anyone experienced this problem?

    Thanking you in anticipation.

The basis of engineering, the only way to get this to work is to use the IP address.

There will be no update firmware to correct this, since the unit already is EOL.

I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you.

  • SMU FlexRIO DMA FIFO host read the FIFO overflows broadband bandwidth/DMA issues

I'm working on an application that uses 2 modules FlexRIO, and 2 LVDS digital I/O adapters.  I'm driving each of the SDC A/SDC B ports on LVDS 16-bit data at 50 MHz adapters.  The FlexRIOs are expected to receive the data and write down them on four targets-to-host DMA FIFO (one per connector SDC), or two by FlexRIO.  The host reads the FIFO and brings together a series of tables each FIFO output 2D.  Ultimately, the individual tables (we're each a quarter of single image) will be assembled in simple images, but I haven't gotten that far yet.

The duty cycle for the data is about 80% (in other words, I'm only transmit data to the FlexRIOs 80% of the time, the rest of the time the transmitters are disabled), so the flow is about 80 Mbytes/sec/port total invasion, or 320 MB/s on the four FIFOs DMA.  I find that the acquired data gaps sometimes inside that line up along the length of the material part of the DMA FIFO in FlexRIO modules.  In other words, if my memory FIFO DMA are set to 65535 length, I'll see a break in the data acquired at the word of data 65536th.  Data is a waveform of sight, which is essentially just a counter, so it's easy to see the break in the model.  For the words of first 65535, adjoins the data, then from Word 65536 model is discontinuous and starts counting again from there, contiguously.  At the beginning of the acquisition, the FIFO is erased: the beginning data read from the FIFO is always aligned correctly, so I know that the process starts at a good point.

The error is not always the case: sometimes I get continuous data through the point 65536.  In addition, the error occurs independently between the four FIFO: on a particular race, a FIFO could have data of interest and some bad.  Rarely, all four FIFOs have good data.

The fact that the gap of the configuration is to the point even the depth of the FIFO DMA tells me that fills the FlexRIO FIFO, the FPGA hardware without the system managing to move to read, which means that the data gets dropped during the period that the FIFO is full.  Then transfer to the host comes into action, there again is the space in the FIFO, and the data is once more contiguous in FIFO memory for a large amount of data (I have not yet tried to locate a second gap in the data of a single acquisition).  It seems therefore that the host doesn't have enough bandwidth between the FlexRIOs and the host of RAM to prevent the filling FIFO, or comes along some software process on the host that is temporarily stop the ability to instantly transfer.

Are at - it a specification for the SMU flow system that would indicate that we are trying to use too much bandwidth?  Or are there priority controls on DMA FIFO that would allow us to raise the priority of the FIFO transfers as they are guaranteed to go in preference to other system tasks?

    System Specs:

    SMU-1075 chassis

    SMU-8135 CPU

    2 SMU-7962R FlexRIO modules

    2 digital i/o modules of NOR-6585

    LabView 2012 32-bit SP1 version 12.0.1

A suggestion of an applications engineer of NOR and some experimentation has solved the problem. It turns out that I was calling the method FIFO of DMA stop just before the outbreak of the transmission of the data via a control for the FPGA FPGA VI. I did this in order to clear the FIFO before you begin data acquisition, but I didn't know that this method disables also transfer data between the memory FlexRIO and host. Following this call, I trigger the FPGA code to start filling its FIFO and then begin reading. Calling the Read of FIFO of DMA apparently light up the transfer back, but it seems that the host VI has been randomly slow down enough to move to the bed such as filling the side FlexRIO FIFO and dat would be lost. I changed the host VI to insert a FIFO method call start before the trigger for the FPGA signal, and the problem is now gone.

  • ICS mobile broadband Internet and an ad hoc network

I set up my modem ICS O2 broadband and using a wireless network to share the connection. I tried to connect my laptop to the internet through the network, but even if I am able to connect to the ad hoc network without penalty I was able to connect to the internet with him twice.

I searched through the forums and nobody seemed to have this problem. Someone had this problem? According to me, what is the origin of the problem is that whenever I connect to the ad hoc network, it is the most often recorded as a new connection instead of use the same one that could pose difficulties.

I opened the mail Windows, given that my Inbox, but took the option to open junk e-mail. Each action after which resulted in the sound of 'ping '. The cross at the top right was not red annd I couldn't close it - I had to use the Task Manager to close. Since then, I can't open Windows Mail via the shortcut or the Start button. I opened through my provider of broadband (Greenbee) - but my Inbox was empty and sent no later than June 24 items were gone too. I contacted Greenbee. They sent a test email - it happened. They concluded that my softwear was defective ("missing wappy" was the term used). What can I do now?

Try to compact and repair the Windows Mail database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Then see if it opens.  See also here to exclude interference antivirus: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and see FYI point 15.

  • RV042 RV082 tunnel, NAT - T and slow performance

    Hello

    I have a RV042 VPN with an RV082 tunnel.

The RV042 has a public IP address that is obtained by PPPoE, the RV082 has a public IP address

obtained via the static IP address.

The problem I see is a show really slow. Two internet connections are inactive and performance

    is about 2 or 3 kbyte/s

My question is if I need to activate it:

    -Agresive mode

    -NAT Traversal

    -IP Compresion

    -Dead PEAR detection

How can I troubleshoot-done it slow performance?

    Kind regards

    Oliver

Hi Oliver, the first thing I recommend is to do a sur-net test speed and a net speed off test. Sense, using a site speedtest by your ISP, then a speedtest from an external site like speedtest.com. This will give you an idea how your internet behaves for both parties.

The second I would like to do is to try to lower the ciphers of tunnel. For example if your tunnel is des/md5 it should have extremely low overhead and should increase in performance.

Things such as NAT - T would not help, it is a technology to map nat had addresses. Dead, detection (DPD) peer is a mechanism serving the VPN policy after a period of time when the other side is not detected. Aggressive mode can help with little speed, he sends essentially all of the negotiations in a 1 shot instead of several phases.

  • Deterimining broadband bandwidth/competitor users / connect from newspapers

    Hi guys,.

Looking at the price survey, do not know where our app to, but something on the order of what I have listed below.  Somehow, I think that we are in a minimum use case:

    (1) 2 hours per day, less than 10 chat users simultaneous,

    (2) each session of cat less than 100 messages, 10 lines per message, per session?

What that would mean in terms of use of resources?

We have just run an internal alpha.  How to watch the use of resources?  Is there a way for me to see how much bandwidth / max users / concurrent connections have been used for a given account/room?

I hope there is a quick and easy response.
