I highly doubt that MS sends unsolicited as you pay postage services Packs to receive. This link should help you local MS page where you can order the CD of XP SP3 and pay delivery charges: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=184017 MowGreen Update Services - consumer safety

    Hello

I have the Toshiba Satellite A300 model, the original comes from OS with it is Vista 32 bit. I've recently updated the laptop for Windows 7 Ultimate.

I downloaded all the applicable programs associated with Windows 7 32 - bit, up to now, all worked perfectly smooth... However, I searched for the Toshiba Disc creator and found none in the Toshiba download page.

This is the link that I use:

If someone could help me in this and redirect me to the download page for Toshiba Disc creator (for Windows 7 32-bit). would be appreciated

    Concerning

The Toshiba Recovery disk Creator is only available as part of the original image of Toshiba.

  • Updating the measures for Win - XP Pro, SP1 to SP3 (jump SP2?)

I do volunteer work 1/2 day per week for a small organization non-profit organizations with a very limited budget (almost non-existent). We work in the given space, but have free access to the DSL service.

    We have the following...

    1 2000 computer HP desktop, Intel Pentium 4, Windows 2000, 256 MB RAM, 30 GB, CD - R, IE - 6 hard drive.

    2 2006 Compaq desktop with Win - XP SP3, 512 MB RAM, 60 GB HD, CD - R, IE-8.

    3. computer acer laptop 2008, Win - XP SP3 with 512 MB RAM, 40 GB HD, CD-R/W that works (depending on what day of the week, it comes), IE-8.

One of our local "family" donated the following for us...

2004 work HP desktop with Win - XP Pro SP1, 512 MB RAM, 105 GB HD (less than 30 GB used), CD - RW, DVD-R, IE-6,

-plus a new module of RAM of 512 MB which could be installed.

-a new, but not installed, updated graphics card.

These two were going to be installed, but the client fell sick and recently passed away.

While this desktop computer is older, it has been used very little, 'C' part of the HD less than 30 GB of 105 GB used, less than 2% of disk fragmentation, no scratches, dents, original basic mouse and keyboard... excellent shape.

In order to remove the HP 2000 desktop computer, I suggest the following...

    (A) delete all the old software, except the WIN - XP.

    (B) defrag the HD.

    (C) the Win - XP, SP1 rollback "original updated" status. HP support pages imply that he is a "clean install". HP has the SP1 of Win - XP original on a segment of "recovery" of the HD.

What else is necessary (I guess)...

    1. install the new 512 MD RAM module.

    2. check that the current power out sufficient to manage the 'new' graphics card (requires 250 watt power)... and install the new graphics card... or just stay with the existing graphics capabilities if the power supply is insufficient.

    3. update all hardware drivers.

    4. load Win - XP, SP2, and SP3... or just go to SP1 SP3? (comments, please)

5 install Internet Explorer 8... or IE-9? (comments, please).

    6. use of Win - XP SP3 and security center firewall... or install (?) for a protection antivirus and antispyware... suggestions sincerely appreciated.

7 install MS Office 2007 Pro (unused software, gift).

My dilemma... What is the sequence own/recommended to perform all these steps...

    A / B / C / D? and 1-2-3-4-5-6-7?

Remember that we do not have money for a new computer, but I don't have the time and (I think) the ability to perform the steps.

Thanks for your suggestions, recommendations and comments.

    Greetings - FLgal

Your Service Pack 3 CD contains the SP3 .exe Setup file, so you don't need to download what you fortunately already.

If you need to download this file, it would have been safer to do using another PC. But since you have it, don't you worry in this regard. :-)

So you're on the right track!

  • Satellite P300 PSPC4A - BIOS no updates required for Win 7?

    I have a Satellite P300 (PSPC4A-03P01P)
Currently 2 hard drives, both are partitioned.
    Disc 1 - C and D
    Disc 2 - F and G
Current operating system on the C drive is OEM Vista 32-bit HP
    BIOS version is V4.20. 05/01/09

I want to upgrade the Win - 7 HP 64-bit operating system
I know that this will require a format the C partition.

In preparation, I downloaded all the drivers for Win 7 64 bit

    My Questions:

The BIOS will require the update to support 64-bit?

If partitions D, F and G are left intact, Win-7 64-bit on the C drive will be able to read?
Or these partitions will also require formatting?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

There is no relationship between the BIOS and the operating system. Thus, you need not upgrade Bios for Win 64 bit.

    > If partitions D, F and G are left intact, Win-7 64-bit on the C drive will be able to read?
    > Or those partitions will also require formatting?

You can install the Os on C: and it will be able to read information on other partitions too.

    Hello

I ask myself why Toshiba is expected to publish a bad BIOS?  :|
It makes no sense to me, you can find a lot of people with a Satellite A100 and as far as I know nobody had and problem with 5 BIOS update, 9 - Win for A100 PSAA8
So I guess you did something wrong.

However, according to the European Toshiba 6.0win driver Bios page is available at this time and should work fine

But I have an important question; Why do you want to update the BIOS?
Is there something wrong with your laptop?
If not, then the update of the BIOS is not necessary and as you already know an update of the BIOS is ALWAYS risky ;)

    take care of the GUY

  • Satellite L300 - where can I order CDs of update for Win 7

    Hi all

I find my Vista starts so long time, about five minutes, and now I want to upgrade to win 7,.
Where can I order the CD Update for win 7 from the Toshiba site. Thank you

    Hello

You cannot order this disk from Toshiba.
You can order just a recovery disk. But if you laptop came with Vista, then the recovery disk contains the Vista OS and not Win 7.

If you want to use Win 7, you can buy this OS and then you could install it on the laptop. Win 7 drivers should be available on the European driver page

  • problems with updates for Windows (for Win XP)

I have problems with Windows (for Win XP) updates...
    (1) I installed the hardware updates for my sound card (via Windows update) and now I can't hear the music through my speakers or headphones.  In addition, related to my sound card software do not work either!
    (2) at the same time, I tried to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 through Windows Update and that would not install (.. .and I tried several times).

So to rememdy those issues, I tried for hours to use the system restore, but whenever I've tried I'm not able to successfully restore and I tried several unique restore points.
Any suggestions?  I spent hours on it, and nothing seems to help!

    Hello LisaQuaranto,

I suggest that you configure the computer to start in minimum mode, download the update from the Download Center and try to install the update.

To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista:

    a. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    b. on the general tab, click Selective startup.

    c. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    d. click OK.

    e. When prompted, click on restart.

    f. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If your problem is resolved after the clean boot, and then follow the steps in the following article to narrow down the exact source:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

In addition, refer to the section on how to restore your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under "Reset the computer to start as usual", after performing the clean boot troubleshooting.

  • E10: Update Rollup 1 for eHome Infrared Receiver for Win XP MCE 2005

    Hey all, yet another question.

    I'm on Qosmio E10 with MCE 2004.
When I go to "Windows Update" I see something called "Update Rollup 1 for eHome Infrared Receiver for Windows XP Media Center 2005" (KB888795) Edition "»
It is optional and install it I has yet because I'm not sure if I'm supposed to install at all since I'm on MCE 2004.

I read another thread on this forum saying that this update completely screwed the infrared receiver on some configurations.

So, question: Toshiba recommends installing this update for MCE 2005 on an MCE 2004 installation?

(I was surprised that it appears in Windows Update despite my MCE 2004..., perhaps a bug of Microsoft?)
    Later,.

    Hello

My opinion is: don t touch a system running unless you are talking about an update to security... but MS recommends the update, so you can do the update, but it is at your own risk... as far as I know, Toshiba do support the software they offer with unit... not necessarily MS Update.
In this case, you can try to run the update. If something goes wrong, you can roll back the OS with Restore tool.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M100-180: where can I find drivers for Win 2003 Server?

We bought a Microsoft Windows 2003 server. I have install then on our laptop Toshiba Satellite M100-180 PSMA1E-02Q00WRU.

With the laptop, I found Windows XP CD and Express media player recovery CD Reanimator. No disc drivers there. May be dealer lost drivers disk? If that - where can I get new CD of drivers (I am from Russia, Smolensk)

I try to download the drivers from the web (toshiba.com.ru), but they are very large (I have a dial-up internet). Then I download driver modem (4M). Installation of the works, but no modem appear after that. And no serial port too.

I plug the USB-serial converter and install Standart Modem (USR external). Then I have to connect to the internet and try to download the drivers with windows update. No results...

    HEEEEEEELP ME! :)

PS Sorry for my English :)

    Hello

: D the dealer nothing lost! The pilot tools & utilities can be created in the Windows XP operating system that came with the laptop.
With the help of Toshiba, you will find a Protect & Fix tab and the option to create a driver disk ;)

Further, all the XP drivers are placed on the page of the Toshiba driver. But unfortunately, nothing for Win 2003 server.
Maybe test it works for XP drivers also on Server 2003

To find the driver download page please go to

  • Satellite A300D-15B PSAKCE - cannot install the audio driver for Win XP 64 bit

    Hi all

This is my first post here after hidden during the last week or so, my hope is that somewhere it helps and hope so!

I have a wonderful Toshiba A300D-15B PSAKCE with RAM 4 GB/O, but I suffer from some problems RESEARCH Holy function cannot resolve. I use this laptop as a box of development for uni/work unfortunately...

After a complete nightmare and Vista32, Vista64, I decided to go back to windows XP32, however this custom install, continues to claim a failure of a CRC file after (and Yes, that's with SATA in IDE mode and a disc of XPSP2)

I decided that I really DON'T want to goback to Vista, so installed Windows XP64. Now the first installation is very easy, I have the basic configuration, the chipset, graphic, network, CPU, usb, fine... except basic... and that's where I lost most of my hair... SOUND!

First try to install the results of the pilot of his failure, claiming the mmdriver.inf cannot be found or corrupted, obviously I checked, and yes there it is, downloaded pleasure the MMDRIVER. INF and placed it system32 and the installation always fails.

I also tried a "manual installation", in .inf files... which includes pilots XP32/64 and Vista 32/64 bit drivers, still the same
problem, the driver continues to not install. I am going bald. Exceptional drivers who moved there

Now, as I write this, I heard the rumor that the A305D uses the same
audio/graphics drivers... Well well... off to try something I guess...

If there is no help or ideas, I'd appreciate it.

    Hello

The laptop seems to use the Conexant audio chip. So, you will need the right sound driver for Win XP 64 bit.
Unfortunately, the European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for Win XP but I don't know if the pilots would cover the OS 64 bit as well m.

Anyway, what you need to know, is that you will need to first install the patches Ms.
The fix KB835221 and KB888111MS must be installed before installing the audio driver.
If you have tried to install the driver, then remove it from the Device Manager and update Windows XP first!

AFAIK that SP3 already contains these patches then perhaps you should install SP3 first before starting with the installation of the audio driver.
