MSASCui.exe bad Image... C:\Program Files/Windows Defender/Mp.Rt.Mon.DLL is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

Original title : A major problem with Windows Defender... will not run :(

When I go to run Windows Defender, I get this message: MSASCui.exe bad Image... C:\Program Files/Windows Defender/Mp.Rt.Mon.DLL is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.  Then, after clicking OK, you get another small window saying "Windows Defender User Interface has stopped working... Search for an online solution and close the program (which does nothing) or close the program.    WHY?  McAfee scan says there is nothing wrong with the computer... There is something wrong. Impossible to get websites to find, or they are very slow.

I have VISTA Home Basic edition, Emachine, bought 32 year THAT VISTA was released this January.

That is to say 9 - seems to work better than 8 (which took awhile to do)

SP2 is installed and I believe that most, if not all the updates are installed.

Oh, and no matter what flash supported won't run... little is a nice way of saying. My flash player update. It is mess up until I had to update. :(

Try the suggestion of Azam K.  If this help not to do the following:

https://community.McAfee.com/message/208529

McAfee should have disabled Windows Defender.  If not, or if you did turn back on, you must turn it off.  http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off   Windows Defender cannot be uninstalled from the Vista OS, but can be disabled to avoid conflict with other programs.

You will probably need to uninstall Flash and reinstall it: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/

I don't really like to make a negative comment on an anti-malware program, but McAfee has a reputation for sometimes bogged down operating systems.  If your problem persists, you will need to uninstall McAfee (to include using the McAfee removal tool) and see if that has any impact on your computer problems.  If there is an improvement, you may consider trying another program BC

This happens at startup when programs open ie. audio and whenever I try to open a program, in this case MS Word. I click the OK button several times and he goes and allows me to work in the program.

    Hi deacon829,

You did changes to the computer before that happened?

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, to do this, follow the steps below,

Access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. In the advanced startup options select safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2: If you try to install any application before this program, try to uninstall them.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program

If this solves the problem, you can deduct that the demand is probably corrupted, damaged or incompatible. You can check with the manufacturer of the program for more information.

Step 3: System Restore: System Restore to put the computer's system files to an earlier point in time.

Look for steps to restore of the system in the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

    If the problem persists,

Step 4: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct

  • «.. . DLL is not designed to run on windows... 'and/or'... .exe is not a valid win32 application... ' and/or 'bad image '.

Programs will no longer work until I reboot (uh, it's rebooting) with one of the following error messages: "...". DLL is not designed to run on windows... 'and/or'... .exe is not a valid win32 application... ' and/or 'bad image '.

Since I got a malware infection (CloudShield) I have had this problem since. At one point I was Windows Vista (could be minutes, hours or days - it varies) to get one or more of these messages for a variety of programs and the dll for things that worked perfectly well until there.  The most recent was to explore "Explorer.exe is not a windows 32 application '! Obviously, I couldn't have been using my computer and opening existing as an Excel document files and the Explorer window that is currently open if this were true!  Everything I run worked fine, until suddenly something I try to open opens more and gives me one of the errors above.  This does not happen when I run mode without failure.

I managed to repair some of the damage generated by the CloudShield, including how it has disabled my task manager and other programs of the Control Panel, in what I could find on registry cleaning and removing the exe file that he had pointed to. There is clearly something wrong again. I run sfc/scannow and tried the other recommendations in "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833" who have found no problem.  I use Zonealarm and have run its auditor of the filesystem a couple of times (on the entire Program Files folder and the Temp files) and not found anything wrong either.

I found similar problems in the media, but they always a specific .exe or .dll. I have not found that address this kind of

Although I have not worked as in depth with Windows Vista, I used to install, configure and support business (including beta versions) on Windows NT and XP applications, so I'm not exactly a novice working with programs installed on Windows, I'm completely baffled by this.

    Anyone?

If you have been infected by malware, the safest bet is to reinstall.

    Hi Jfog18

    1. what material are you trying to install?

2 have you installed for the device that you connect software?

    3. were you able to connect the hardware device much earlier?

    Method 1:

You can analyze your computer using online for computer viruses antivirus scan. Rerailway to the link below to complete the virus scan online. Check if this help -
    http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

    Method 2:

You can perform a SFC scan and check if the problem is resolved.
To Perform a Scan SFC -
    a. click Start, click programs, on Accessoriesprincipally made, right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on Allow.
    b. type the following command and press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow
A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient because the scan can take some time.
    c. If all files require a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue.
    d. If everything is correct you should, after the scan, see the following message "resource protection Windows not found any breach of integrity".

I'm trying to play age of Empires 3 on my computer running windows vista Home premium and the program does not start. I get the error message: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III\d3dx9_25.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error." I tried many suggestions from Microsoft (resettlement program, reinstall in safe mode, update & reinstall the drivers for my video card, the compatibility issues with vista, updating and reinstalling directx 9.0 c, install vista service packs 1 & 2) but nothing has worked so far. I was able to play the game on the same computer with windows xp installed (it's a different hard drive that is not in the computer, and everything is the same) and it worked fine. Hi Raygun55,

Welcome to Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

This problem may occur if the Microsoft DirectX file that is mentioned in the error message is damaged or is not copied correctly.

I suggest that you copy the file manually by following the steps and check if you are able to play the game without any problems:

    Manually copy the file

To do this on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps:

1 insert the disc 1 CD for one of the following games into the player from the computer:

    o Age of Empires III

    o Fable: The Lost Chapters

    o Zoo Tycoon 2

o Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends

    2. click on start to reduce this includes this image and then click Documents.

    3. Locate, and then click computer.

    4. search and then click on the CD drive.

    5. Locate and then click the following folder:

    CD player :\ DirectX9

Note In this folder path, the CD player represents the drive letter of the CD drive.

6 double-click on Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x86.cab, right click on d3dx9_25.dlland then click copy.

In Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, double click Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x64.cab right-click d3dx9_27.dlland then click copy.

Note Use the Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x64.cab file for the x 64 version of the Windows operating system.

    7. find one or more of the following folders, depending on the games that are installed on the computer:

By car : \Program Files\Microsoft: Age of Empires III

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Rise of legends

Note In these folder paths, drive represents the letter of the drive where the game is installed.

    8. right click on the folder of the game which is the part that is installed on the computer, and then click Paste.

Note If you have installed more than one game on the computer, repeat steps 5 and 6 for the other games.

You can check the link for more information: error message when you try to start a Microsoft game: "the file d3dx9_XX. DLL was not found": http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910813

Alternatively, you can try to install the game in XP compatibility mode and check if you are able to play or not.

Right-click on the game > click Properties > click on the Compatibility tab > select for XP compatibility mode > click OK.

Let me know if it worked.

    Hi, cdg59!

It seems that your system is damaged.

You might want to try the suggestions in this post: http://linenbach.com/tiki/tiki-view_blog_post.php?find=&blogId=1&offset=60&sort_mode=created_desc&postId=465 that talks about how to solve problems with wtsapi32.dllprecisely.

  • Receiving an error on startup error: C:\Program Data\sytem 32\gameux.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error

    * Original title: error gameux.dll

I recently got an error on startup associated gameux.dll.

"C:\Program Data\...\gameux.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try to install the program by using the original installation media or your system administrator or the software vendor for support on the contracts. »

Later, I discovered that my Norton 360 had quarantined the gameux.dll file a few weeks ago marked as high risk Trojan horse.  After scanning this file in the folder of Norton 40, it seems, is not a problem and was not actually a virus.  Then I looked in the windows System 32 folder and found that the file gameux.dll is actually still there.  Maybe repeuple Windows there.  Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work.  Maybe an incompatible version.

I tried to put the old file in System 32, but ran into problems of owner "TrustedInstaller", which I didn't change without a little guidance.

Any ideas where I should go from here?

    Thank you!

    Dell Precision T1500

    Windows 7, 64-bit

I don't know if you saw my post updated, but I'm sure that this question arises from Norton 360 brand gameux.dll file as a virus.  It quarantined the file.  Apparently repeuple Windows the Windows\System32 folder with a new file gameux.dll

I think that some programs may have been pointing to the old file gameux.dll quarantined.  Norton, he was put in a hidden folder in c:\programdata.

In any case, I deleted this version put in quarantine to gameux.dll and problem solved.  No more error on startup!

  • C:\Windows\System32\D3D10Level9.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error when it tried to update to windows live messenger

Original title: installing windows live messenger update revealed a .dll file bad, maybe direct3d related.

I am running windows Vista professional, service pack 2. I just updated windows live essentials, specifically the Messenger and have since lost feature program.

The launch of the program, I get an error message saying:

    "
    Msnmsgr.exe - bad Image

C:\Windows\System32\D3D10Level9.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.
    "

subsequently I do not have much in graphical material in the e-mail program, insofar as a chat window is empty (but I can still type messages and send them, without being able to see, or no response). I don't see this problem in any other program, but perhaps no other programs try to use graphics in this way. In principle, I could downgrade windows live Messenger back to what it was, but that seems more to avoid the problem rather than solve them.

I had a quick glance in the D3D10Level9.dll file, in the system32 folder: it has no size and is apparently empty. Conclude that this file is just broken and needs to be replaced?

An internet search indicates that this file is described as "Direct3D 10 to Direct3D9 translation Runtime". I was wondering if it was a directx problem, so tried to reinstall that. It did not work.

It seems to me that I need a replacement for this particular dll file that actually works, but I'm incredibly careful to find a replacement and the "tips" on how to mess with some arbitrary site system files.

Could someone offer any advice on how I should proceed with this? What danger is there to find me a replacement dll file, change the privileges of the corrupted file, so I can replace it and make the switch? It would be the right thing to do? My analysis of the situation is correct? Could it be solved with a relocation of a program?

    Thank you very much

Uninstalling and reinstalling the update of windows for a year that has put the file d3d10level9.dll on the computer, the problem has been resolved.

I had to start Windows Recovery Environment, load the command prompt and replace the file c:\windows\sysWOW64\wship6.dll to a system of work w7 (I used an iso oem and 7zip)

( 1 copy the file in a place should be on my boot drive (c :) in my case))

2 . restart your computer , press and hold F8 as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to start over; to do this, hold the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
