Multi-disc Album track order

Hi all

I searched for my question but it's impossible to find anything about this either so forgive me if I am redundant. When I add a multi-disc album to my music in iTunes on my desktop, it adds it as disk 1, disk 2, etc. and played in that order.

However if I go to the same album in the android app all songs are sorted by track # and will play in this order

1 - disc 1, section 1

2 - disc 2, section 1

3 - disc 1, track 2

4 - disc 2, section 2

.. and so on. This seems like a stupid way to do things. Am I missing something? Thank you!

Ditto on this issue. It's a big problem that should really be addressed in the next version.

And a solution to this problem would correct the multi-disc albums that are already downloaded to Apple music on the SD card in the phone? Since I already have > 100 of those on my phone, I hope that the Android patch would correct the order of songs without having to re - download to each album.

  • Multi-disc Albums in Windows Media Player

I mainly use the Zune software for music, but I use WMP for music between computers.

I have a number of two record albums, that Zune allows me to specify that the two disks of the same album, which allows me to keep the numbers of tracks (1 to X on each disc) and the order (Dsik 1, 1-X; Disc 1-Y 2).

When I go to my music in WMP, however, it displays disc 1 track 1, track 2 1 disc, disc 1 track 2, etc.).

Anyway so set up, like the Zune program so that I can have my songs in order without having to renumber WMP?

Unfortunately, WMP does not account disk numbers when sorting of tracks, and there is no built-in setting to change this. However, the next major release of my Windows Media Player Plus! plugin will have a setting to WMP using the disk for sorting numbers. I'm hoping to release this new version early next year. • Order of iTunes LPs & digital booklets in multi-disc albums

Does anyone know when the order of these past? I remember well first iTunes LPs to access booklets and digital last. Both are now going after disc 1. Research disorder during playback of songs sorted as Album of the artist.

I remember good iTunes LPs used to go books first and last digital

    That's what I remember too.

  • Combining multi-disc albums

I imported a few CDs to my library and I was wondering if I could combine my albums of multiple discs in an album in iTunes. One of my albums made automatically, but no other album did it, no matter what I tried, they have the same name of the album, the artist and the artist of the album.

If iTunes displays multiple instances of an artist or an album then generally what works is to select all the associated tracks and use read information to add say end X for each of the areas that the slopes have in common:

    • For an album. Album, artist of the Album and artist (if the artist is the same for all tracks) *.
    • For an artist; Album artist (artist and unless there is the comments/featured artists listed that should not be changed)

Apply the change which merges things together, then remove the excess characters. Occasionally, it can help to close and reopen iTunes between two renaming operations.

    * If the titles must be synchronized to a non - iOS device, there should be a common artist and/or album must be defined as a Compilation.

Use the view of songs and display fields, Album, genre, Album, Album artist, genre artist Album, artist and genre artist side by side to see you whether or not it is necessary to change the artist and if sorting values could be the cause of additional problems. See grouping in albums, titles for help if necessary.

Another tip duplicates stubborn reality. I had three batches of various artists in the view of artists in my iTunes game library the other day that would not respond to usual treatment X back. What I found worked was adding the final X, but with each group, iTunes wanted to separate start typing a value and let iTunes autocomplete of the Var... for various artists. Collection of AutoComplete lists seemed to work when the full value of collage/montage does not.

  • problem with marking albums multi disc

In the past when I have an album that has say 3 CD, I was able to right click > get information, then place the disc 1 of 3, 2, 3 and 3/3. In my case music files would then appear as 1-01, 02-1 right through the first disc and the 2-01, 2-02 and so on.

Now, I do the same with itunes 12 but in the folder it now appears as the title of the 01 01 title song, 01 song title then 02... It does not differentiate which is drive 1, 2 or 3. Is it possible to go back to the old way to do.

You'll be amazed how much multi discs, I have...

    Any help appreciated

Let iTunes do file management and don't worry in this regard. Your only interaction with your files either through the iTunes interface, where questions of multi-disc are correctly identified.

  • a separate album multi disc set

I can't for the life of me, see why a created disc multi disc shows separately for the album.

This is the Portrait of Dan Fogelberg, 4 CD set. I did read the information and changed the orinal separated from 4 albums at all with the same name.

Deleted "Disc X" in the title of the album. So disks 1,3,4 now appear under an album for the album, but disk 2 shows upward in a separate album.

What's funny, is that if I go to the windows folder, the MP3 from all 4 disks are in the same folder. Watched a lot of attributes through windows Explorer

and they all seem compatible. I also did the same Album artist for all. Any other ideas? I even deleted and ripped out again to see if that would clean things up.

Im running the latest update of iTunes in Windows 7, if that matters,

    Thanks for all the ideas.

I had a similar problem recently... try to remove the title of the album of all disks, so you get the artist with the unknown album, then readd the title of the album.  Worked for me

  • iTunes does not play albums in order of track and jumps around the tracks. How to restore order in the right way?

Recently iTunes won't play the album titles in the proper order. When I click on an album tracks are listed in the proper order, but when I play the album iTunes jumps all about order.

It's obvious, but please confirm that you have not selected shuffle option. Just turn it ON and STOP could also help.

  • Playlist of the burns on the disc in the order reverses

I'm oldskool... I always like the discs that I feel. So even if I download an album from Apple iTunes Music Store, I burn to disk, add it to my collection of physical disk, as well as my collection of digital discs that I keep to CDPedia.

Now, something strange has happened, and I don't know if it's from El Capitan, or one of the latest versions of iTunes (I'm running the latest OSX 10.11.3 and the iTunes version is 12.3.2.35).

    So:

    1. I download a full album from iTunes Music Store.

    2. I get a 'album' in iTunes;

    3. I select all the tracks from the album, and then choose file > New > Playlist from selection.

    4. sometimes (and I don't know if it is compatible), the tracks end last firstly (so reverse order);

5 if (4) is true, so I chose the Playlist edit and sort by track #; I definitely make sure the playlist is in the order I want.

6 then I choose file > burn Playlist to disc, insert a blank CD, when required, etc.

The last two times (today was with Philip Glass Koyaanisqatsi), immediately (during the initialization stage) I noticed the top of my iTunes that the CD would be burned in the opposite direction, although the reading list I wanted to burn was in good order. The first time, I continued and indeed: the CD that was in reverse order.

So I chose to Edit Playlist again, made sure all of the tracks were in good order and tried to burn again. New order (initialization phase) and this time I stopped burning. The CD was unusable, but it was in reverse order.

So finally I chose for a new playlist (empty!), dragged the individual tracks one by one to the new playlist, filled manually in the title, etc. and then repeat the burning process. This time everything was beautiful, as it should.

Like I said: it's already happened, but this only happens to me? How (with the exception of manually build a play list). When can I I really rely on the playlist displayed onscreen, knowing that when I press "burn", it will be OK? I don't want to overturn three blank CD for every album, I want to burn.

    Thanks for your comments.

It may be preferable if the burn list has the songs contained real order of the list, not a sorted order.  First of all, show playlist using the view of songs to show a simple with columns list (if it isn't already).  NOTE: The view control is at the right end of the horizontal bar; If it says currently Playlist, change it to songs.

In the view of songs , you can sort the list by clicking on the header of the column you want to use for sorting.  To sort by part number, click on the header of the column follow-up of # .  To reverse the order, click it again.  The order of the list appears for the playlist, when you click on the header in the left column.  This column doesn't have any title in the title, and there the sequential numbers below.  The "pointer" in the heading (after clicking on it) must point upwards (click a second time to reverse).

With the shown playlist in the order of the list, you can manually move the songs (top to bottom) on the list to get them in the desired order.  This is useful, for example, to create a "mix CD" with songs from different albums in the order you want.  Try to burn the CD with songs in the order desired, as shown by using the list command.

Only the sight of songs using the drop-down list located at the top right of the playlist. CTRL + click all empty the box to check, or ctrl-click on a square filled twice. This will ensure that all tracks are checked and enabled for synchronization or shuffle playback.

  • Can't burn to a single disc album in Windows Media Player 12

I recently bought the Daft Punk album Random Access memories-memories from the play of Google store. I downloaded the album on my PC and I want to burn a copy of it for a trip on the road ahead. Although the album is less than 80 minutes (74:35), I can't get Windows Media Player 12 the entire album on one disc. Is it possible to adjust all the parameters to fit the album on one disc?

    Thank you!

Problem solved! You insert a blank disc first so that Windows Media Player knows how much space drive. Otherwise it is an assumption, I think.

    See you soon!

  • Album sort order

Hey, guys. I am a proud new owner of rocket, and I must say that I really. Thanks to the Grand Council on this forum (as I did waiting for my rocket to deliver), I not had a single problem.

I have a question, if. Is it possible to change the way the "rocket" sorts my albums, specifically the albums that begin with "the"?

I use iTunes to play my music on my computer. iTunes automatically sorts of albums (and songs) that begin with "la" by the second word in the title. For example, "The Greatest Hits Collection" is sorted as "Greatest Hits Collection".

Before moving the music to my rocket, I use Mp3tag to convert the tags to ID3v2.3 ISO 8859-1. With Mp3tag, I see that the album sort of information is stored in the tags (under ALBUMSORTORDER) songs of my rocket. Yet all of my albums that begin with "it" are currently sorted by "the".

Is that what I can do about it? Your help will be most appreciated, because I prefer not to have to rename my albums ("Greatest Hits Collection, the").

    Thank you.

P.S. If this info has been posted elsewhere, I apologize. I tried, but I couldn't find this specific question.

This is a built-in feature in Winamp Media Player (for one) and is a pretty darn good. I have suggested on the jury of the functionality of the product advice here. I hope that we will see that it add in a future update.

  • Multi disc layout data merge in the unique text box

Is it possible to merge the content of a CSV into a single text field? Currently using CS3.

    CSVmerge.png

I did something similar in the past. My process was to import Excel into a database, such as one that is available with NeoOffice (Mac) / OpenOffice (PC).  From there on, I exported a record of the fields in the order I want them to appear.

Maybe it's not a necessary step for you, but for me, there was a lot of additional data in the excel file that I didn't need... and there are over 100,000 rows of data that I had to get out into regions by the State, etc.

In InDesign, I used a series of paragraph with 'Next' Style styles to form a sequence corresponding to the configuration of the records.

For example, with your example, I can see two styles of paragraphs with nested styles.

Style of business (with the business in the following Style address) name

Style of address of business (with the trade name as following Style)

Business address would have a nested style

Blue character style "BOLD" - to - 1 - (ball)

    [No] - through - 1 - end nested Style

There were a few required cleanup of import, but once this was done, I could select the content in the history, just right-click on the style (brand name) and select "apply, then style following" to have the entire list quickly format.
