Multimedia audio codec

I'm currently under Windows XP Home edition. I moved and just got the computer out to use it, and now there is no sound. I went to Device Manager and multimedia audio codec has no drivers. How can I fix?

Hello

Multimedia audio codec is married the audio driver, in this case, you can try to download and reinstall the audio driver. You can go to your site for manufacturer of the computer for the driver. :-)

    You are the very welcome.

I mean, it is explore you the file and select with the mouse, then click Next and it should install the driver

You cannot copy and paste anything.

You can first try this method easier to install the driver...

When you arrive at her browse my computer for driver software option, go to: C:\SWSetup\sp27103, make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

The original file that I gave my instructions has the hardware ID you posted, so you need to install the driver (8086-2445)

Everything worked fine last night.  This morning he has no sound.

I guess I have an audio driver damaged (corrupted how? I don't know.)

Just reply with a link to a replacement driver, & and/or advise.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp55001-55500/sp55026.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When finished, restart the computer and let Windows load completely.  Open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

If you have still no sound, open windows control panel, open administrative tools, and then open Services.  Verify that the following services are all showing that status = started and the Startup Type = Automatic

    Audio service

    Multimedia class Scheduler

    Windows Audio

    Windows Audio endpoint Builder

If you need to make a change to one of the above, just right-click the service and select Properties, and then in the drop-down list box next to "Startup Type", select automatic and click on apply to save the changes.  Then click on the Start button.

  • No sound driver and no multimedia audio control?

I clean my computer by doing a disk defragmentation, disk cleanup and uninstall programs that I don't use. Then I restarted my computer and then I had no sound at all. I tried restoring the system to get what I deleted the return, but it did not work.

He asks me if I want to install a new hardware (multimedia audio controller, but I do not have a cd). I did the whole looking for your device under "video controller and games sounds" but all what I have there is: ".

    -Audio Codec.

    -Legacy Audio drivers

    -Hardware video Captuers

    -Media control devices

    -Video Codec

I also tried "roll back driver" on the yellow question mark (multimedia audio controller) and it is said that "no driver files have been backed up for your device. Ive tried to update the device by choosing a type of material. but AC 97 controller 'may not be compatible"and mess up my computer.

Im not really a computer person, so I don't know it that im doing. I don't know the brand of my sound card. I do not know how to find it or what, I just want my sound back, help!

    Hello

It is likely that the sound driver was eliminated during the uninstallation of some programs. In this case, try to go to your computer manufacturer's website to download and install the audio driver. They should have ALL the drivers for your computer model. :-)

    Hello:

Try the driver support page W8.1 and the driver of your PC...

This package provides the driver for the solutions Audio IDT high definition in the supported models that are running an operating system supported.

  • Portege R700 - Win7 - cannot find the driver for USB Multimedia Audio Device

Are there any Windows 7 drivers for the "USB Multimedia Audio Device" found on a R700 with the Toshiba Hi Speed Port Replicator II (PA3916U-1PRP)?

In "Devices and printers", there is a device in the section called a + USB Multimedia Audio Device + Unspecified +. Windows 7 can not find the drivers for it. Audio seems to be working through the port replicator.

The only related issue I've seen is that sometimes, when I press the "eject" button, Windows complains that a device is in use and the ejection is defective. This is very similar to that reported as ' [Undock R700 question P3838 |]» http://forums.Toshiba.com/T5/General-troubleshooting/R700-undock-from-P3838-issue/TD-p/149453].

In my case Windows tell me an application to use it or the device in use. I strongly suspect the audio device.

I have not found a solution so eject manually despite the failure or sleep it and then eject manually. I didn't notice the two approaches being necessarily better.

    HI PeterH,

Just a simple question: do you use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 at Toshiba and you have most unknown devices in Device Manager or just this USB Multimedia Audio device?

I understand that you want to check if the sound card in the laptop has a 5.1 stereo system. Unfortunately, there is only one port of audio output on the side of the laptop according to Pavilion g6 Maintenance and Service of Guide, so probably it's a card his 2.1 in the laptop.

  • Good question HP Pavilion DV6 IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

    Hello

I recently bought a new laptop for school and study. I bought second hand, because I could not afford a completely new.

When looking for the laptop, make sure that everything was okay. I opened a YouTube video and the video began to play normally. No graphic problem must have problems of SUVs, or any audio. Plugged in my headphones and everything always went well. I literally checked everything and every aspect, and I finally bought it. It was running Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit.

Once home, I did a factory reset and I erased the whole HARD disk, simply because I wanted to be sure I could start with a clean Windows 7.

Once he finished and booted up, I've updated Windows 7 until I couldn't either. Around now, time was about 02:00 at night.

I wanted to watch my series on the Internet, but I got no sound. I disconnected my headphones and reconnected them and yet one time. No sound.

I checked his Windows in the lower right, and while the video showed no activity of all sounds (no bars back) played. I then unplugged the earphones and tried on normal speakers. Nothing more.

Strange thing is that when I plug in my headphones and I go to sound options windows and then I chose 'headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) Communication I stop the video, lower or higher, sound and playback of the video, the sound works perfectly well. But as expected, when you unplug the headphones no sound again. I had the same exact process without being plugged in headphones, but without success.

During playback of the YouTube video this process works. But try a downloaded video, or the sounds of the sample of Windows itself, it gives me an error.

If I play a game I have no sound.

I don't know where I can see the correct modelnumber of your laptop, but it's a HP Pavilion DV6 with an i5 2410 M, 4 GB RAM 450 GB of storage (14, 5GB recovery) and a HD6770M AMD and Beats Audio.

    Any help is very appreciated!

It seems a problem with the audio driver.

Go to Device Manager > under sound and Audio > uninstall all the listed under it.

Select Recovery Manager > drivers and applications > find the IDT audio driver and reinstall it to the computer.

    Restart the computer.

  • HP Pavilion 2320tx g6: IDT HD Audio CODEC for HP Pavilion 2320tx g6

Hello! I used the IDT Audio CODEC for Windows 7/8 for a while, but a few days ago I accidentally uninstalled the Audio driver. I searched the internet for the suitable driver for my laptop, but the audio driver listed here package seems to be broken. After downloading the package and extraction, she seems to contain the Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver (must be contained in a sp61713) instead of the Driver Audio IDT. I can't find the original content of sp61716and so impossible to install the correct driver IDT. Anyway, the size of the file of the current binary file listed is 5.77 MB, too small for the IDT audio driver in my opinion.

I looked almost everywhere and downloaded dozens of pilots under 'IDT HD Audio 6.10.6417.0 A', but none of the .exe, I tried it, works.

I'll be happy if someone can link me the content of sp61716 (no, the ftp://15.193.112.22/ftp1/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61716.exe package contains the Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver after extraction), or correct the original in the Support page link, so I can return my headphones to life.

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I tried system restore already, but it did not work. He showed that the restore was successful, but the pilot has the same default Microsoft, which does not help my helmet. At this point, I guess reinstall the appropriate driver is the only option I can think.

EDIT2: It is certainly not the problem of my helmet; they work very well on other devices. In addition, previously I had downloaded and installed the driver from the HP itself support page, and the old version of sp61716 was indeed the (good) driver to work.

    Hi there @Potla

I appreciate that you try to reinstall the audio drivers. I'm happy to help you.

A method, you can try is to recover the pilot of the original image. See the following for how to do this:
