Multiple cluster type def not updated

I combined group A and Group B with beam by name in Group C.  Group C is spent in a state machine in a shift register.   In some States, there are subvis with Group C as input.  All clusters are of type-def,

When I change from Group A, I would expect Cluster C to update as well, but it became broken.  Why is this?

  • Table of Cluster cluster type - Def

    Hi all

I know I've asked similar questions as this one before, but I need to ask again, since I'm still not satisfied with what I got.  Here's my problem:

I am converting an array of 16 elements in a cluster.  Then I fed this cluster in a cluster of type-def.  Basically, I'm trying to update my new values of cluster type-def will write another cluster with the same number of items inside.  All right, but I make it a point to stress.  If you do not already know, I hate the dowry of coercion.  Is there a way to get around this?  Thank you!

    Yik

Stick with the point. If you change you def code pauses to get your attention. If you use the type cast, it can hidethe broken wire and you give a very strange accident in a sub - VI that gets these data on the wire or in a different VI complete (summer does.) That's why I covered my head in the previous post. It took Aristos queue and his group to figure out that I had thrown type the wrong type of cluster in a VI breaking a dynamic VI when it came time to free a memory buffer).

Points of coercion of the biggest concern when has with tables since they cast upward in a type number (u8 to U32) cannot be done in place and requires a copy of the buffer. Arrays can have large buffer duplication is bad. In the case of clusters and type def vs non - typ def a dowry is just an FYI.

  • Ring type constant def not updated for LabVIEW 2010 SP1

I have a problem with the update of the control ring LV 2010 SP1 constants.  If I change the values or names of elements of a ring of control that has the defined type (type def or type strict def) my constant schema do not update.  The constants are set to Auto-Update of type def and if I right click on the constant, change to a control and then back to a constant, they update very well.  And if I have a control/indicator on the comic it refreshes also very well.

Anyone else seen this problem or can someone seeks to duplicate?

  • Cluster Type def. array of cluster Type def vs. -best practices?

Hi all, I'm creating a cluster which is used inside tables throughout my code, of course, I'll need to group and ungroup it several times. My question is:

Which is preferable? Defining the type def as a cluster, and then add it to a table where it is needed? or by defining the type def as an array of this cluster? It seems to me that it would be preferable to define the type as cluster so def when you group or ungroup it you don't need to index the table first, right?

    Thank you

    Agreed.

I rarely type tables def but almos always type the cluster that I put in them.

  • How to place a (strict) reference of a cluster in a control of Type def?

Example usage: for example queue message handler it is holding cluster of the references to the controls and lights on the front panel.

I have a cluster of façade of type-def'ed, I need to add to this cluster of references.

In the typedef for the controls on the front panel (above), I place a control refnum then
    Make a right click-> Select the class Vi Server-> generic-> GObject-> control->-> Cluster Cluster.

However, this does not produce a typedef of strict type I need.

    How I handled this?

I managed to place controls in the cluster of typedef of common simple types (numbers, strings, etc.) by placing a refnum control in the cluster and (for the reference of control chain)
    Make a right click-> Select the class Vi Server-> generic-> GObject-> control-> String-> String
Think it works because they do not need to be strictly typed.

Delete an instance of your cluster type def on the FP, then drag it to the referance.

  • How it happened and how to prevent it: type def cluster change causes the element starts up again

    Hi all

I have a big nested type nested def cluster, several layers.  I have remove the clusters to use the feature "name" to use it.

Somehow changing the def of big type causes unlustered elements starts up again.

For example, the element is the element clustered and used, then after I modified the def type, I don't remember how, maybe remove some items, perhaps rename elements, then the element where B is the unlustered element and used.

It is very scary because it just happened automatically and no broken error reported and this can spoil the entire application.

It happen to someone else? How to prevent it?

    Many thanks for any help.

A search on 'Ben', 'cluster' 'type def' to see that I've been bitten in the same way.

The earch will reveal the various things that have been suggested according to the version of LV

First rule of ben from cluster

Avoid like the plague by deleting or renaming items.

    Other stuff:

If you need to remove an item, change its representation to something that will break all instances for example change digital chain. Then go all the broken VI difficulty by throwing all the refs for the field you want to delte. And then delete.

in the LV ealier version, better all the screws that use clusters that open when the change is made.

In the recent version that neither recommended edititng cluster with all the appellants closed with the theory being that LV handles better the opening of VI.

Given that I am "Of Ben first rule of the cluster" I don't run in the bug often with LV 2009.

  • Type defs are not updating

I am new to using type defs and was undergoing the vacant only if i updated the type def (add or remove a selection) can now control all constants related to the control and the case would be updated.

This doesn't seem to be the case. I remove and reinsert the control, and then find each constant in my diagram and remove and reinsert and it really meses cases. I have to remove both 'red' and make sure that are without doubles in my case.

What I'm doing wrong here? Type Defs were suppose to do this try?

Looks like you have left the control as a regular "custom control" and it has not changed to "typedef".

Or do you keep the window open editor control when you make a change in the typedef? If so, the change is spreading until you save and close the control editor or select file-> apply the changes (if you want to open the editor control window).

  • def type change is updated to all connected controls?

    Hi all

I create one type def on a cluster in which digital, string, array, and error output will be contained. I save as type def. (*.ctl). I drag the *.ctl file to a new VI which will create a copy. Later if I change the file ctl of origin (for example to change the label of the controls inside), change will be reflected in all controls, as mentioned in the help "when you save a custom control or an indicator in a type definition, all data changes you make to the type definition affect all instances of the type definition in all the screws that use it." I wonder if this is true for all change of ownership or only for certain goods. I try, for example, to change the display format of data (e.g. scientific), change the size of controls or even replace regular inspections with silver counterpart. I found that the changes will not reflect in all instances connected.

PS after the changes, I click on 'apply changes' and save the ctl but the same result

This link might help. Try instead a definition of strict type.

  • Enum (type def) - structure of the case called update error

    Hello

    1. One of my (type def) enums is not updated the names of structure cases. I found something that looks like a probable error in the case where the structure,
    2. I had created one of the constants in the enumeration before I did a typedef. Therefore, I made new constants since the typedef and replace the original ones. and still, the structure of the case is not being updated.

    How can I solve this?

also, I have one state machine inside the other. Is this right way to program?

Somewhere in your code, you have the wrong typedef, or don't replace a control by the typedef. Must not have replaced all. I don't know if there is an easy way to search for; You may need to go through anyway.

  • How can I change default digital and enum values in a Cluster of Def Type Strict?

I have a Strict Type Def cluster that contains 10 digital controls and a number of enums.  I have changed the default values for the digital controls in the strict Type Def, in customize mode, carried out a 'course values Default do' and did a 'apply changes' and recorded.

This group is used in various places throughout the project and have not found a way to make the default cluster values change downstream.  Strict control Type (STD) Def seems to have good values on the front panel.  But if I place an instance of this on a white façade and do pass a wire of him in the block diagram with a probe and an indicator, I still get the old default values being passed against the STD.

and still another approach is mentioned in my nugget on definitions of types found here, where I include this picture

To illustrate how a wrapper around the constant type-def avoids not only the "problem of the explostion" (largely set by the new LV 2011 for display as icon feature) can be used to set the defaults AND allow some documents explain what, where and why.

  • Variant of incompatible Type Def cluster

I get an error trying to write to index 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, but no error when write to index 19, 25, 26, 28, 29. The error I get is the variant of cluster data type is not not compatible. Any ideas on a fix?

Instead of writing to the property node, change it to read and check the output variant for clues. No doubt this will help. eg. 20 the index the output is false.

I apologize for mentioning the same thing as the crows. You have essentially overlapped digital control and a Boolean button (the text string). If the order is confusing when you look at the type def. What you need to do is, separate all controls overlap, number them (reorganize) according to your need and then redraw the structure (type def).

We test on one of our web applications in CF11.

We have a feature of updated base of entity ORM that retrieves an object individually called several setters and then registers the entity inside a transaction in cfscript. We are working with Microsoft SQL Standard 2012 edition. It worked under CF9 and CF10.

Under CF11, we get the following error:

Error: An exception occurred when the validation of the transaction. The main cause of this exception is: coldfusion.orm.hibernate.HibernateSessionException: type [macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] specified SQL is not supported by this driver...

The line of code is throwing the error, it's what is the last line in the transaction {} block.

The problem is that CF11 uses a version of hibernation in the Boolean fields that contain a null values are tapped in MS SQL. It is in the release notes and Adobe has shown no indication that they plan to update Hibernate in CF11 to fix. I added a vote for the bug:

Bug #3518916 - the attempt to insert Null into primitive Boolean type throws error for SQLServer

The solution is to replace the ormtype = "boolean" with ormtype = "numeric_boolean". I have not tried that we had held off the coast in the hope they would patch to a later version of Hibernate, but no luck so far.

  • Typedef reference FPGA not updated in the private class data

I have a FPGA reference related to a typedef that is passed in a LVOOP object. If I change the FPGA of computer simulation of dev to the use of the actual hardware, all references to the typedef are updated which are controls on a diagram. But the typedef in my private class data seems not not to date, so I'm broken son until I replace the control to private data of my class with a copied from my block diagram. Has anyone seen this? Is there a CAR already? I can create a small project to reproduce if necessary.

Edit: this also seems to happen when I change bitfiles or change to open a VI a bitfile opening in the Configure dialog box open FPGA VI.

    Hi Greg,.

I was able to reproduce your problem thanks to your easy to follow instructions.

I noticed that type def successfully by checking "Bind FPGA host of reference to the type definition" in the open FPGA VI reference configuration. What does not automatically update is the Issue.ctl of OBJECT-oriented programming, which has a nested type definition in the private data reference.

The fastest solution, that I could find was to right click on "Issue.ctl" in the project, and then click Save. This problem immediately solved the broken wire error.

While configuring open FPGA VI reference has the practical ability to bind to the def of type, it does not broadcast this change to data private to the class. I call not this bug, but I can see how you want it works this way.

I would recommend you post that on theExchange of ideas (I see you're already regularly here).
